Alfamarine from Fiumicino the West sea side of the Italian capital city Rome presents its new World wide web showroom.  Alfamarine and Fazioli make a great part of the Italian story of pleasure boating from the mid seventies onward with some record breaking models in the making.  Alfamarine started its course in 1955 when Marcello Fazioli enters boat racing not only as a racer but also by building outboard powered speed boats for himself and on commission.  But the story of Alfamarine as a boat builder starts in 1975 when the yard in Fiumicino is founded and Marcello Fazioli launches the 40 Bronte model designed by Renato Sonny Levi and Franco Harrauer, two of the most innovative naval architects of the time specialized in fast deep Vee bottoms, who the lessons and innovations they introduced are still very much valid then as today.  Build of fiberglass the Alfamarine 40 Bronte is a huge success becoming the yard all time best seller with 146 units sold over its production run, and offered with two propulsion choices; Levi's Step surface drive and the standard line shaft, and available in three versions S for the open, Motoryacht for the flybridge, and the Fisherman with a lowered stern.  Alfamarine moves forward and after the success of the first model launches the bigger Alfamarine 60 Delta, and then the 16,50 Motoryacht.  A 35 is presented in 1985 the fourth and smallest ever produced model by Alfamarine, what is a chopped smaller 40 Bronte sport cruiser designed again by Franco Harrauer.  In the eighties Alfamarine competes with neighboring central and South Italian builders for making fast seaworthy large yachts; and Harrauer again designs the company first super yacht, the 83 Cronos a deep 25 degrees Vee deadrise hulled with a wide body upper structure design which will sell in six units.  The Cronos will reach 32 knots speeds with standard twin 1400hp engines, and will also be offered as the 83 Super Cronos with triple engines totalling 5000hp and Arneson surface drives project who in theory should have arrived up to fifty knots but unfortunately no unit sold with this power.  An Alfamarine 90 is later launched in 1993, what is an extended 83 Cronos with a totally re-invented more traditional not wide body upper structure.  After the 83 Cronos, Harrauer will design the Alfamarine 65 launched in 1991 and based on the 55 hull but with a triple Man 1000hp set up reaching speeds of sixty knots, 61.5 to be exact as recorded during its sea trials.  Always precise and technical in the details Alfamarine will launch other models over the years, the 55 in 1990 sees the yard go into a more conservative style and will sell in ten units.  Launched first as the 47 in 1991 and in 1995 becoming the 50 this model sees Alfamarine go into more modern nineties styling featuring a sloop stern design and later 1995 and newer versions also featuring an integrated windshield radar arch design and extended bathing platform.  The Alftamarine 50 will also embrace the Italian aft cabin sport cruiser yacht which was so popular in the eighty and nineties by many sport cruiser and yacht biulders of the shoe shaped peninsula.  The 50 is followed by the similar styled and smaller Alfamarine 43 designed by Fabio Buzzi and launched in 1994 and becoming the 47 in 1997, what is a model just as the 50 still offered in the production catalogue.  The Alfamarine 60 is launched in 1998 and is followed in 2002 with the 58, a modern version of the 1990 launched 55.  In 2003 Alfamarine launched the custom full displacement, steel construction and its largest build to date 140 triple deck to a design of Andrea Bacigalupo, who is then again used in the much admired 78 launched in 2004 and its smaller 72 sister in 2007.   Alfarmaine has won various prizes over the years with the most important being the Golden Keel awarded in 1985 for the 83 Cronos, and 2005 European Prize for the 78.  Today Alfamarine is managed by founder Marcello Fazioli and his son Andrea, and together apart offering a full refit service in Fiumicino offer seven build to order semi custom sport cruiser and yachts which start with the 47, and go up to the one off build 140.  Alfamarine latest model is the the hard-top updated 60 presented in 2009.  Alfamarine new website takes you around with the following buttons; Our Story, Building Site, Services, Achievements, and Contacts. Rio New Web Site

Rio presents its new website World wide virtual showroom.  Rio was founded in 1961 by Dr. Luigi Scarani first as Avionautica Rio building wooden runabouts powered by Rolls Royce and Chris Craft engines. The success continues and in the seventies Rio in collaboration with Italian company Eni launches its first plastic ABS material boat, the 310 sold in 50,000 examples. In the eighties Rio opens further production establishments in Spain and France, and also launches its working boats line selling 200 units to the Italian police departments. In the second decade of the 2000's Rio started a project of qualitry re-branding itself and thanks to collaborations with designer Marino Alfani presents new important models.  Among the first models but not only of this upgrade is the 54 Colorado launched in 2010.  Currently Rio offers seven models from the 34 Espera to the still in project Sport Bridge 62.  In 2019 Rio launched two new models the Sport Coupe 44 and 56 models. Sunseeker New Web Site

Sunseeker updates its world wide web showroom. Sunseeker story starts in 1962 when Idris Braithwaite sons, Robert and John enter the family business.  A year later to this Idris will move his chandlery and outboards shop down the road from Christchurch to Poole, with this change of location the Braithwaite's and business partner John Macklin enter into boat sales of American, British, and Scandinavian made boats and Poole Powerboats Limited is created.  In 1969 the Braithwaite's purchase two boat moulds for a seventeen and a twenty foot cuddy sport cruisers from Brunswick owned Owens Incorporated, with the first becoming the Poole Powerboats 17 Sovereign in 1971 and the other the 20 Sovereign a year later.  These first two Poole Powerboats are the first standard stern drive equipped made in Britain boats.  For that time the two cuddy cabin cruisers suffice Poole Powerboats purpose as entry to the dealership family of Scandinavian made Coronet, Draco, and Windy boats, as the Braithwaite's also become the largest Volvo Penta parts supplier for the United Kingdom in the early seventies.  Nonetheless a year forward the boat production business expands in late 1972 with the 23 Sports, followed four years later by the Daycab 23.  The Poole Powerboats 23 Sports and Daycab 23 were also the first to feature the Sunseeker prefix on the hull, used by Robert Braithwaite for European export reasons as Poole Powerboats was likely to be confused with the French ‘poulet’ word for chicken in France.  Produced in 120 units from 1976 to 1979 the Daycab 23 was Poole Powerboats first big success, which pushes the Braithwaite brothers into boat building, and in 1978 will partner with naval architect Don Shead who debuts with the 28 Offshore and will not look back afterwards, for a partnership that will last till 2010 and his retirement.  In 1979 Poole Powerboats changes its name and is rebranded to what has been known since then as Sunseeker.  From their onwards the range becomes more complete and the sizes keep growing from the 31 Offshore in 1982, to the CUV 38 racing powerboat derived hull 34 XPS Portofino in 1983, to the 36 Rapallo in 1984, 47 Malibu in 1987, 60 Renegade in 1990 which was Britain's largest production yacht in that year, then to the Predator 63 in 1994, until arriving in the 24 meter plus super size with the 80 Predator in 1995 which again takes the mantle of Britain's largest production build yacht.  After the 80 Predator Sunseeker has been building United Kingdom largest production super yachts, which will arrive to its largest 155 Yacht as build in two units between 2014 and 2016.  Sunseeker also competed in various offshore races in the past for the most part in the eighties and noughties in the Endurance class, with its best result coming in the Round Britain 1984 CX Class win and placing fifth overall with a 34 XPS Portofino.  Sunseeker has also appeared five times on the big screen, four James Bond movies; Superhawk 34 on The World in Not Enough in 1999, Superhawk 48 on Die Another Day in 2002, Predator 108 and XS2000 on Casino Royale in 2006, Superhawk 43 and 34M and Soverign 17 on Quantom of Solace in 2008, and the 40M io Absolutely Fabulous: The Movie in 2016.  The Braithwaite's will sell Sunseeker in 2010 to Irish private equity firm FL Partners, who in December 2013 resell to Chinese company Dalian Wanda Group.  In November 2024 Sunseeker was sold to private equity firms Lionheart Capital from the U.S. and Italy’s Orienta Capital Partners.  Sunseeker today produces 24 models from 38 foot to fifty meters, in six ranges; Performance, Predator, Sport Yacht, Manhattan, Yacht, Ocean, and Superyacht.  Sunseeker current offer starts from the outboard powered Fabio Buzzi designed Hawk 38 and go up to the still in project 50M Ocean, with its latest model being the second generation Manhattan 68 which debuted past January.  Sunseeker new web site takes you around with the following buttons; Menu, Yachts, and Dealer Locator. Sea Ray New Web Site

One of the Worlds biggest motor boat producers, Sea Ray presents its new website. Sea Ray was founded in 1959 when Cornelius Nathaniel Ray III and his long time friend architect John Mehaffey purchase Carr Craft, who at time produced golf cart bodies, coffins, and fiberglass boats. The first boats are designed by Jerry Michalak and Harley Earl and Associates, who present a line of speed boats from fourteen to eighteen feet, which will extend up to 25 feet by 1969.  One of Sea Ray's most important moves comes in 1981 when it launches its first SRV 310 Sundancer, a nine meters sport cruiser devoted to entertainment cruising.  The Sundancer line, which is still produced today will expand and dominate the sport cruiser North American market from the eighties till the noughties.  In 1986 Sea Ray is purchased by the Brunswick Corporation for 350 million US$, what was and still is today one of the biggest pleasure boat holdings, and owner of the top selling Mercury motors. With Brunswick Sea Ray expands to become the Worlds biggest motor boat and sport cruiser producer in the eighties, nineties, and noughties.  Sea Ray enters the yacht fifty foot market in 1989 with the 500 Sedan Bridge, followed by a larger 630 Super Sun Sport two years later, and then by the only a dozen build 650 Cockpit Motor Yacht in 1992.  Sea Ray largest build to date is the 680 Sun Sport produced from 2001 to 06, with the second largest yacht being the 2014 L650 Fly which debuts the five years produced European inspired looking L-line that lasts till 2019, and will feature four other models from 55 feet.  Another famous Sea Ray model series beyond the Sundancer is that of the high performance Pachanga series, which debuts with the eighteen foot Pachanga in 1969 produced for two years in over five hundred units, returning again in 1986 with the 22 Pachanga II and 32 models, and lastly as a limited edition one hundred units only Pachanga III 22 in 2009.  The current Sea Ray line up offers thirty two different models from nineteen to forty feet in length, and is divided into five ranges: Sun Sport, Sundancer, SLX, SDX, and SPX. Beneteau headlining brand of Groupe Beneteau presents its new web site. Beneteau was founded 1884 in Vendee by fully qualified ship builder Benjamin Beneteau, who sets up a boat yard with the family name building trawlers for fisherman. 24 years pass and as any builder who beats the age of time Benjamin sets provocation in motion when in 1910 he builds the first engine boat called "Vainqueur des Jaloux", Conqueror of the Jealous in English which sets a lot of drama and also gets accused this is scaring the fish away. In 1928 Andre Beneteau son of Benjamin takes over yard management duties, and two years later he shows the way forward building "Le Jeannot" a faster design trawler which he christens Poursuivante, translated in English to Pursuer. It is 1945 the ending of World War II, which prompts Vendee and the fishing fleet of the area needing a total rebuild, and Andre pursues his creativity by presenting the first trawler boats with bridges. This is followed in 1955 with more tuna fisherman thinking creating the first live bait storage. In 1964 the third generation Beneteau boat builders Annette Beneteau Roux, brother Andre, and husband Louis-Claude Roux take the helm pursuing the road into recreational boats and the use of fiberglass as a building material. A year later passes and Beneteau exhibits for the first time at the Paris boat show presenting the Peches Promenade concept of fishing pleasure boats. 1967 Beneteau follows more its production instincts launching the Forban and Galion models which achieve great success and are followed by another break through of Baroudeur a pleasure cruiser with living aboard comfort. 1973 sees Andre Beneteau responsible for design present the 32 Evasion first two masted yacht from the brand, and two years later this is followed by what the critics call one of his best projects the Astroblade. Between this in 1974 Beneteau launches a still today model range, its first planning motor boat the Antares, and in 1976 the 30 First designed by Andre Mauric is presented. This also marking a line which is still as at today existent. 1981 sees designer German Frers present the First 42, recognized at the time as one of the most stable sailboats. In 1982 Beneteau is recognized as the largest production boat builder of the time. A century has passed since its founding in 1984 and Beneteau goes public on the Paris stock exchange. This is followed by more production facilities two years later when Beneteau opens a new building plant in Marion, South Carolina USA. 1987 sees the launch of another line with the Oceanis designed by Philippe Briand, and another innovative 35.5 First with project by Philippe Starck and Jean Berret is launched. In 1992 Groupe Beneteau is founded today featuring twelve boat building brands: Beneteau, Jeanneau, Lagoon, Prestige, CNB, Monte Carlo Yachts, in 2014 it Four Winns, Glastron, Wellcraft, Scarab all USA brands, and in 2018 Delphia from Poland and Seascape from Slovenia.  Beneteau current line up features a total eight different ranges of sailing, motor cruisers, and motor yachts; which start with the First 14 and go up to the Grand Trawler 62. The motorboat lines are the following; Flyer, Antares Gran Turismo, and Swift Trawler. The smallest motor boat is the Flyer 6, going up to the 2022 launched Grand Trawler 62. Fairline New Web Site

Fairline one of Britain's famous pleasure boat and yacht builders presents its new World web showroom. The story of Fairline starts in 1963 when Jack Newington purchases unused gravel pits by the river Nene and transforms them into Oundle marina. Four years later to this in 1967 the first Fairline 19 feet river cruiser is produced in fiberglass. Seven years after the first boat is built the 32 Phantom is produced which is followed in 1977 by the 40, the longest ever produced Fairline in time model making eleven years of production till the final Mk.IV version. In 1981 Fairline produces another successful model with the aft cabin 36 Turbo, which will also mark the start of Bernard Olseinski as head designer and naval architect lasting till 2012.  Olesinski will for 31 years design all Fairline hull models, replaced in 2012 by Vripack. 1985 marks another important Fairline evolution with the presentation of the first generation Targa 33, a name which since the nineties represents all the sports series within the brand. After knocking on the yacht world in 1986 with the 50, in 1991 Fairline presented the 62 Squadron, a name which becomes a series for the large yachts and from 2010 will represent all the flybridge models.  In 2001 Fairline expands to a new 60,000 square foot facility fully completed two years later. In 2003 Fairline makes two important milestones; the launch of it's ten thousand boat a 65 Squadron, and the launch of the Squadron 74 flagship, which in 2007 evolved as the 78 Custom and is the largest build to date produced till 2018 for 115 units. In 2004 Fairline presents the new Gran Turismo hard top version of its Targa series, with the launch of the first generation 62. By 2012 Fairline had build over 12000 boats this number reached in 2010 with the delivery of a second generation 55 Squadron.  Fairline has over the years received various prizes; 1986 and 2008 Queens Award for Export, 2007 the Targa 38 and Squadron 68 and in 2020 the F//Line 33 win IPC Motorboat of the Year, Targa 63/65 GTO in 2017 and Targa 43/45 GTO in 2018 and Squadron 68 in 2019 win the World Yacht Trophies.  After the retirement of founder owner Sam Newington in 1996 Fairline had many owners first sold to Renwick Group, then in 2005 to 3i Investments, and 2011 to Better Capital. In the fall of 2015 Fairline goes in administration with two British resident Russians Alexander Volov and Igor Glyanenko buying it in early 2016, in 2020 RiverRock buys a majority stake, which in 2021 sells to Hannover with the Russian duo still believed to be minor share holders.  After 2016 and the new Russian ownership Fairline has been reinventing itself, first giving design duties to Italian Alessandro Mancini, and then back in 2021 returning it fully inhouse to Andy Pope who penned most of the models from 1993 to 2014.  Fairline currently offers thirteen models into four series; F-Line, Targa, Phantom, and Squadron, which start at 33 feet with the F//Line 33 introduced in 2019 and go up to the Squadron 68, with its latest model being the 2022 launched Phantom 65. The Fariline 19 its first boat arrived in 1967

Ferretti Yachts New Web Site

Ferretti Yachts presents its new World wide web virtual showroom.  Ferretti started up in 1968 with brothers Norberto and Alessandro expanding their car selling business into boat and yacht selling representing Chris Craft first, and Italcraft and Sanlorenzo brands dealership a year later.  Three years after this in 1971 Ferretti present their first boat a ten meter motor sailor build in a collaboration with Franchini of wood, who also designs the boat.  In 1980 Ferretti start the work to enter into motor boating, which leads to the Altura 38 Estate Day as designed by racing legend Fabio Buzzi for hull and Pusceddu doing exterior interior, and debuting in 1982.  A year later the Estate 38 is added with the Estate Flying Bridge and Roadster hard-top versions.   After a total of twelve models from the nine meter Meneghino to the nineteen meter Altura 61 the last Ferretti sail boat was build in 1988, and showed the innovation with the company pioneering the raised saloon style, and today having a following in the used brokerage market.  After a total switch from sail to power the scope of Ferretti of innovation, quality and bigger boats takes a new step and in 1987 it builds its first yacht over fifty foot with the 52 Altura, this is superseded with the Altura 58 in 1991, and the 225 Fly in 1993, and leads into 1997 when Ferretti enters into eighty foot plus super yacht size with the 80 model.  In 1989 Ferretti launches its Engineering department, followed a year later with the entry of Giovanni Zuccon as lead designer from Pusceddu, his first design being the 54 model later renamed to 175 Fly and 60 produced till 1997.  From there onward Ferretti and Zuccon worked together non stop till 2017 with all the models of the Forli company designed by the renowned Italian designer.  In 1996 Ferretti founded Custom Line, with the aim of building bigger super yachts outside the Forli and Cattolica factories, with the first 94 model launching in 1998.  From 2018 onward the new Ferretti designer is Filippo Salvetti who has designed the latest new four models; 670, 720, 500 and 1000.  The largest Ferretti build to date is the 1000, to be launched this year, while under the Ferretti Custom Line the flagship is the Navetta 42. Azimut Yachts New Web Site

Azimut Yachts presents its new website. Head quartered in Italy Turin, with other construction sites located in Viareggio and Fano in Italy, and in Itajai in Brazil, Azimut continues to make innovation in design of the yachts its priority.  Azimut was started by Paolo Vitelli in 1969, who  retires in 2022 to give leading duties to his daughter Giovanna Vitelli.  Poalo Vitelli starts Azimut as a sailing charter company in 1969, two years after in 1971 he becomes a boat dealer for Dutch builder Amerglass and Moody sailing yachts.  In 1975 Azimut starts the humble beginnings as a boat builder with the AZ43 Bali, a flybridge cruiser as designed by Bernard Olesinski with a lot of input coming from Vitelli for the design.  The first few units of the Azimut 43 Bali are joint built with the Dutch Amerglass, but production is moved in Italy in the first year and built by sub-contractors most notably Marchi from Venice.  Sub-contracting its builds will mark the first years of Azimut as a yacht builder.  The first Azimut is followed by the 32 Targa in 1977, a huge success for Azimut sold in 197 units in a ten year production run and is also the first cruiser with an opening sunroof. This is followed by an extended 46 Bali which arrives in 1978.  Azimut goes above fifteen meters on its fifth model in 1982 when it debuts the 60 Solar flybridge yacht.  In 1983 Azimut enters super yachting with the launch of the 105 Failaka, which was also the biggest production made fiberglass yacht of the time.  The 105 Failaka is superseded by the 115 Failaka in 1988, and then in 1994 with the 118 California aka project Penthouse.  For seventeen years the one off 118 California is the largest Azimut, that is until 2011 when the 120SL is launched, this then overtook ten years later by the Grande Trideck 38m in 2021. Azimut will start to make group in 1985 as it buys bankrupt Fratelli Benetti shipyard in 1985.  In 1987 Poalo Vittelli challenges the Blue Riband with the Benetti built hull number FB204 Azimut Atlantic Challenger and designed by Pininfarina and Fiat navigation system.  In 1991 Azimut debuts frame less glass windows on its yachts, with the AZ43 Quarantatre, what is a first for a European builder, and second in the World following Carver.  In 1999 Azimut-Benetti Group becomes the World top builder of super yachts above 24 meters in size, a position the Italian yacht builder has kept every year since.  2003 marks the launch of the 68S marking an entry for Azimut to the Sports Yacht segment which today has a range from 60 up to 100 feet.  In 2009 Azimut presents the dual mode hull semi displacement 74 Magellano entering the Italian shipyard in the Explorer yacht category in its own terms. Azimut current line up has five collections; Fly, S, Grande, Magellano, Verve, and Atlantis which start from twelve meters with the 42 Verve and go up to 38 meter Trideck totaling 23 models. Huckins New Web Site

Huckins presents its new World wide web showroom. Still a family owned and managed business Huckins is today operated by the founders grand daughter Cindy Purcell and her husband Buddy Purcell, who before marrying Cindy worked with Huckins from 1971 onwards. Founded in 1928 by 1886 Boston born native Frank Pembroke Huckins in Jacksonville, Florida, starting straight away with an innovative driven focus. Frank came from a family running a Lumberyard business, and shows his innovative spirit, inventing one of the first planning hulls calling it the Quadraconic and with it develops and patents wood lamination methods, what will be called as Fairform Flyers. In the same 1928 year as the founding Huckins delivers his first hull #1 a 42 foot capable of reaching twenty knots with a pair of 125hp diesel engines sold to Goodrich, the tyre manufacturer.  In 1946 Huckins moves to its current location on the Ortega river.  In 1960 Huckins starts the cold moulding building method by starting to use fiberglass sheets over mahogany build hulls and later on covering them with resin.  In December 1968 Huckins launches the largest sportfish yacht of the time the 80 foot Sportman 80 hull #396, which is also the second largest Huckins build to date.  In 1976 Huckins builds the largest cored hull of the time using Airex closed-cell PVC for the Motoryacht 76 custom build yacht.  In 1984 Huckins build the largest outboard powered yacht the Outboard 50 yacht powered by four outboards and reaching speeds up to 33 knots.  This is followed two years later with the launch of Yachtfisherman 78, a 23 meter motor yacht with Arneson surface drives.  Huckins largest build to date was the 1980 launched Sportcruiser 86.  In 1996 Huckins introduces the classic looking semi-production Sportsman, Atlantic, and Ortega 44 models based on the lines of the models from the 1950s.  Today two of these three models are still in production along with the 2020 introduced Sportsman 38, Sportfisherman 44, Wombat 45, and Limwood 56 flagship model.  Huckins website takes you around with the following buttons; New Construction, Pre-Owned, Service and Parts, Company, News, Video, Gallery, and Contact.  Huckins is also on social media with top right buttons taking you to its; Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and YouTube pages.
