Sea Ray New Web Site

One of the Worlds biggest motor boat producers, Sea Ray presents its new website. Sea Ray was founded in 1959 when Cornelius Nathaniel Ray III and his long time friend architect John Mehaffey purchase Carr Craft, who at time produced golf cart bodies, coffins, and fiberglass boats. The first boats are designed by Jerry Michalak and Harley Earl and Associates, who present a line of speed boats from fourteen to eighteen feet, which will extend up to 25 feet by 1969.  One of Sea Ray's most important moves comes in 1981 when it launches its first 310 Sundancer, a nine meters sport cruiser devoted to entertainment cruising.  The Sundancer line, which is still produced today will expand and dominate the sport cruiser North American market from the eighties till the noughties.  In 1986 Sea Ray is purchased by the Brunswick Corporation, what was and still is today one of the biggest pleasure boat holdings, and owner of the top selling Mercury motors. With Brunswick Sea Ray expands to become the Worlds biggest motor boat and sport cruiser producer in the eighties, nineties, and noughties.  Sea Ray enters the yacht fifty foot market in 1989 with the 500 Sedan Bridge, followed by a larger 630 Super Sun Sport two years later.  Sea Ray largest build to date is the 680 Sun Sport produced from 2001 to 06, with the second largest yacht being the 2014 L650 Fly which debuts the five years produced European inspired looking L-line that lasts till 2019, and will feature four other models from 55 feet.  Another famous Sea Ray model series beyond the Sundancer is that of the high performance Pachanga series, which debuts with the eighteen foot Pachanga in 1969 produced for two years in over five hundred units, returning again in 1986 with the 22 Pachanga II and 32 models, and lastly as a limited edition one hundred units only Pachanga III 22 in 2009.  The current Sea Ray line up offers thirty two different models from nineteen to forty feet in length, and is divided into five ranges: Sun Sport, Sundancer, SLX, SDX, and SPX. The new Sea Ray website guides you with the following buttons; Why Sea Ray, Our Boats, Build, Dealer Locator, Owners, Events, and Contact A Dealer.  Sea Ray is also present on social media, with bottom page links taking you to its Facebook, Instagram, Tweeter, YouTube, and Linkedin pages.

New Model: Sea Ray Sundancer 370

Even though the demand of the North American market is asking a different product, Sea Ray still tries to build, even though in a small part what has been its success story, that for a medium sized sport cruiser.  Here comes the Sea Ray Sundancer 370 which debuted in 2022 first in outboard version, and now offered in the more pure to the eye inboard stern drive variant.  The Sundancer 370 is the pure evolution of the Sea Ray brand, with an innovative asymmetric main deck layout, which offers walk around features from bow to stern.  Down below the Sundancer 370 offers an open plan layout sleeping four in a forward Vee shaped berth, L-shaped lounger, and a double berth at midships with a galley and shower head to starboard.  A traditional American sport cruiser layout.  The Sea Ray Sundancer 370 is powered by twin Mercruiser gas engines 430hp with stern drives, the only available option which gives a nice 38 knots top speed and a limited 135 nautical mile range at 33 knots cruising.  Diesel does not look an option which is a poor way to put an eleven meter sport cruiser in the market today.  Decisions by upper management are not always understood, sometimes looking more made to kill a product rather then revive it.

Project: Sea Ray Sundancer 370 Inboard

Sea Ray present the project for a new Inboard version for its Sundancer 370 model, which debuted in early 2021.  The Sea Ray Sundancer 370 Inboard differentiates from the Outboard version aft, with a free uncluttered stern and extended bathing platform.  The new Sundancer 370 is an innovative hard top sport cruiser with a fully usable deck from fore to aft, offering exterior spaces associated to those of a centre console thanks to its exterior asymmetric design, which with its port passageway leads you forward to a relaxing fore deck area with sun-pad and opposite settee.  Down below the Sea Ray Sundancer 370 offers a two plus two accommodation with a galley to port side, and shower head to starboard in between the berths.  So far Sea Ray is not advising what type of engines the inboard stern drive version will have, with the 2021 Outboard version powered by twin or triple Mercury 300hp.

Following the debut of its sister model, the Fly 520, at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show last November, this beautiful new sport yacht is designed for maximum flow of natural light, creating a seamless yachting experience and maximum onboard enjoyment.  The Sundancer 520 features sophisticated new styling, ample windows and contemporary materials, which all contribute to the bright, sunlit aesthetic. Interior features offer new wood selections, which are expertly crafted and grain-matched throughout to elevate the overall visual appeal. The entirety of the yacht is geared toward effortless entertaining and luxurious livability.  Innovative design is apparent in the cockpit, where Sea Ray’s ingenious seating solution creates maximum versatility. The aft lounge seat, with convertible backrest, slides forward and aft to form multiple configurations, facing into the cockpit from the aft position or brought forward to overlook the swim platform. An optional transom gourmet station adds a grill and large storage drawer, further enhancing sociability. A large lazarette can be accessed from the swim platform, making it easy to stow water toys and gear. At night, upgraded lighting designs create a compelling environment.  Inside, the main level salon is accessible from the cockpit through a wide, stainless steel framed door. The salon’s convenient galley aft layout provides a hub for both inside and outside entertaining. Premium amenities in the galley include stainless steel drawer style refrigerator/freezers, solid surface counter-tops with sink and faucet, and abundant storage. Forward of the galley, the salon encourages relaxation with plush opposing sofas and a standard TV, which rises to provide an exceptional viewing experience. The helm station ensures confident command, with touch sensitive switch panels and a full suite of the latest Raymarine electronics. Two richly appointed lower level staterooms treat guests and owners alike to luxurious accommodations with abundant storage. Aft is the full-beam master stateroom, which creates an inviting escape, complete with a private head and entertainment features. Like the salon, this space maintains a great connection with the outdoors thanks to large hull windows. Forward, the guest stateroom includes a queen bed and access to the guest head. A lower seating area is featured starboard with a hull side window, opposed seating and a table. Owners can opt for a third stateroom in this space that features twin bunks and additional storage.  The yacht makes full use of exterior spaces as well, including an expansive bow lounging area with room to relax while enjoying music. An optional sun shade can be added.  In terms of performance the Sea Ray Sundancer 520 is powered by twin Cummins 600hp engines coupled to Zeus dual propeller aft looking pod drives propulsion with joystick control and Skyhook Station keeping and automatic hydraulic trim tabs that enable operating the yacht with ease. To build on a great hull form, an infused hull and advanced lamination structures support the performance needs of modern boaters. Further enhancing the outstanding ride quality and handling, which Sea Rays are known for, the Sundancer 520 can be equipped with an optional gyro-stabilization system.  Manufactured in Palm Coast, Florida, at Sea Ray’s state-of-the-art facility, the Sundancer 520 reflects superior craftsmanship and attention to detail.  For instance, in the engine room, a white finish, superior routings and plenty of service room make this boat a breeze to maintain. Project: Sea Ray 520 Fly

Making its official World debut at the 2017 Fort Lauderdale show, Sea Ray’s new Fly 520 leverages the power of light through design choices that maximize views and minimize obstruction. Evolutionary styling and contemporary materials feel bright and airy,  while wide-open, blended-purpose spaces with ample windows invite the outside in. Notably, the glass-enclosed bridge staircase and open risers allow light to flow through the steps even as this staircase ties the bridge cohesively into the rest of the yacht.  Superior attention to detail and craftsmanship can be found in everything from the precision-engineered hull, manufactured at Sea Ray’s Palm Coast facility, to the engines and mechanical compartments, which are easier than ever to access and service. Additionally, the detailing of the interior features new wood selections, expertly crafted and grain matched throughout to elevate the yacht’s overall appeal.  The entirety of the yacht is geared toward effortless entertaining and luxurious livability, with a well-equipped flybridge; a large hydraulic swim platform with steps descending into the water; three inviting staterooms; and all the comforts one has come to expect of a Sea Ray. Project: Sea Ray 320 Sundancer

It’s the start of a thrilling new chapter in the Sea Ray story: The Sundancer 320 presents a bold new vision for the range and sport cruising by blending the values of a cruiser and a bowrider in one compelling package.  The Sundancer 320 maximizes the use of on-board space through a reexamination of deck architecture, with three primary entertainment zones. First, the traditional bow sun-pad has evolved into a much more robust lounge seating area, inviting a group to socialize and enjoy the view. The best part? The bow can be fully enjoyed while underway. Actuated headrests, armrests and seats allow users to adjust for perfect comfort, with a stow-able table conveniently in reach. A bow sunshade extends over the area to offer protection from the sun while at rest. Meanwhile, the cockpit affords effortless, versatile enjoyment of the water, with a natural flow from the helm all the way through the transom and onto the integrated swim platform. A reversible helm companion seat converts to face aft, facilitating conversation with the rest of the cockpit. A well-equipped standard wet bar includes a sink and storage, and offers a refrigerator and grill as options. Throughout, refined finishes demonstrate Sea Ray’s dedication to craftsmanship and elegance.  Aft, enjoy comfortable cockpit seating and ample storage space in the transom. Or, boaters can choose the optional sun-gate layout to gain a large sun-pad, affording great views of the water and a prime spot to relax and soak up rays. Cleverly concealed storage underneath the sun-pad holds fenders, lines or water toys.  For getting out of the elements or making an overnight or weekend-long getaway, the Sundancer 320 features a beautifully designed cabin with sleeping accommodations for four. In the aft berth, two sliding twin beds can be combined to form a queen bed. In the forward V-berth, a stylish wood table converts via filler cushion to form a comfortable full-sized bed. A deluxe head, galley with extending counter tops, flat screen TV and generous storage round out this inviting space.  Underway, the Sundancer 320 demonstrates its bow-rider inspirations by performing beautifully, thanks to its high-efficiency engines and a precision-engineered hull.

Project: Sea Ray L550 Fly

Sea Ray became a serious contender in the luxury yacht market with the debut of its L-Class line-up three years ago, and the new L550 Fly will only further cement this status. Blending Sea Ray lines with a modern Europe aesthetic, the L550 Fly is, like its larger L-Class siblings, a seamless blend of style and substance. Livability is exceptional; the lower level features a luxurious full-beam master suite with resort-style head, as well as two additional staterooms and a guest head. On the main deck, a sprawling, sunlit salon with galley opens to a large, social cockpit, where options including a grill and sunshade encourage gathering.  Perhaps the most defining feature of the L550 Fly is its well-appointed flybridge, geared toward entertaining a group with ease. The upper helm station, as well as the standard lower helm, will features latest electronics. Twin Cats 850hp inboards are available with joystick control for effortless docking, and an available Seakeeper gyroscopic stabilizer will adds comfort to what is already a reassuring ride.  Official presentation at Fort Lauderdal boat show in early November.
