A nineteen meter flybridge motor yacht titled Yazicilar under Turkish flag with eight persons onboard started sinking near Fatih Ahirkapi, in the district of Istanbul Turkey at 13:30 of Monday 24 June. Seeing water coming in the captain of the motor yacht called for assistance, with the Turkish Coastal Safety General Directorate coming in and rescuing the eight persons onboard. Following this the yacht was reported fully sinking, with the eight boaters given a medical check, of which all appeared to be in good heath. The cause of the sinking was not reported.
The 20 meter motor yacht in this sinking, looks to be a custom Turkish build, probably of wood. Turkey features a handful of boat and yacht builders who still build this way, which apart building the vessel to one's wishes are also known to be competitive priced.
