Two Boaters Saved as Sport Cruiser Goes Ablaze in Manerba, Lake Garda

Two boaters were saved as an eight meter sport cruiser went ablaze about two hundred meters offshore to the coast in Manerba, Lake Garda at 13:00 of Sunday second October 2022.  The two boaters called for assistance and were assisted by the Salo Guarda Costiera, who later asked for the intervention of the Vigili dell Fuoco Fire Fighters of Brescia who fought and extinguished the fire.  When the Salo Coast Guard arrived the two boaters were already saved by a nearby boat, who then took them to the San Felice marina, and were then taken by ambulance to Gavardo Hospital in Green Code. The cause of the fire is not reported with the boat ending wrecked and sunk in five meters of depth. 

The boat in this accident is a Chaparral 2835 SS as produced from 1999 to 2006.  The 2835 SS was replaced by the Chaparral 275 SSi.
