Classic Trojan Wrecked by Fire at Lighthouse Point Marina, New Jersey

A ten meter classic Trojan sportfish cruiser was wrecked by fire while berthed at Lighthouse Point Marina in Shawcrest, Cape May, New Jersey on the night of Wednesday nineteen January 2022.  Fire fighters responded to the blaze, and encircled the fire keeping to this one vessel, and also managed to keep the sport cruiser from sinking.  No injuries were reported from the fire also because no one was onboard the boat during the fire.  Sea Tow Cape May who shared this story on it's Facebook page, were later given duties to remove the wreck.
The boat in this fire is a Trojan 36 Convertible as produced from 1972 to 1989.  Founded in 1949 by James R. McQueen and Harper Hull who purchase the Cottrell-Spoore Boatworks of Troy, New York, and rename it to Trojan.  Hull and McQueen will sell Trojan to Whittaker in 1969, switch to fiberglass in 1974, it is sold to Invest Corp again in 1984, and in 1992 to Genmar Group who will stop production in 2002.
