Sanlorenzo presents the SX120 project, the largest-ever yacht in the Italian SX crossover range, as designed by Zuccon with interiors by Piero Lissoni. Sanlorenzo's SX crossover explorer line has been a huge success for the World famous Italian brand, a range which debuted with the SX88 as designed by Mauro Micheli in 2017, with this followed by the smaller SX76 and to date has sold in over 160 hulls for four different models from 23 to 33 meters. This new big SX120 is to be a replacement of the SX112 which in a five years production has sold in sixteen hulls, and is to add some unedited features which appear for the first time in the range. The big news is that it will use the new Volvo professional set up, of two engines per pod drive, by what is understood is that she is the first yacht to be commercialized with this propulsion which was announced by the Swedish engine maker at the Dusseldorf boat show of 2024. The real unique traits of the SX120 though and helped by its 35 meters of length, will be a master stateroom on the forward deck, and a top fourth deck with free moving furniture, what Sanlorenzo calls the Sun Deck. For the rest the SX120 builds on the features of the previous smaller SX's, from drop down bulk-heads which extend the size of the largest aft deck probably in the category with Sanlorenzo debuting these in 2023 with the SX100, to the lounge which serves the aft cockpit this presented on the SX112 and was then followed again on the SX100. The first SX120 is I believe nearly completed with the first unit set to debut at the Cannes yachting festival.

Sport Cruiser Ends Beached near Venice, Italy
An eleven meters sport cruiser titled m/y Putea with two persons onboard ended beached at Cavalino-Treporti to the South East of Venice at 17:45 of Monday 21 July. The sport cruiser called a Mayday first after it lost power in rough seas, and then arriving at about three hundred meters from the beach dropped anchor. In the meantime the Port Captaincy of Jesolo responded to the Mayday, with the B111 rescue rib and the CP 883 boat, rescued the two boaters. After this the Guardia Costiera was trying to tow the boat out of danger with the assistance of the m/v Tofi tug boat, an operation which was not a success also because the sport cruiser dragged anchor and ended beached. With the sport cruiser beached, the port captaincy later decided to tow up the boat out of harms way with two excavators, in order to avoid further damage and also the possibility of pollution.
The boat in this beaching is a Bruno Abbate Primatist 39 as produced from 1992 to 1996. The Primatist 39 was a replacement to the Bruno Abbate Primatist 38 and was replaced by the Primatist G39.
