Sirena Yachts Facility Fire in Bursa Turkey

A fire broke out at Sirena Yachts facility in Bursa, Turkey at about 07:30 morning time of Wednesday seventh August.  The fire was reported to have started in a chemical storage warehouse, with protocols immediately put into place and all workers evacuated safely.  Fire fighters with seventy personnel and twenty vehicles fought the blaze, which was reported to have been controlled in a timely manner minimizing damage.  Sirena's Bursa is where the Turkish builder produces its molds, hulls and decks, though according to a press release by Sirena the fire did not impact any production.
Sirena was founded in 2006 by Kiraca Marine, entering first sailing yacht building and then motor yacht construction in 2016.  Sirena debuted with the 68 model, and today offers six models, from 48 to 88 foot.

Two Boats End Beached in Emilia and Fabio Tropical Storms

Two boats of ten meters and eight meters respectively ended beached and aground near Cabo San Lucas on the aftermath of Tropical Storms Emilia and Fabio on Tuesday sixth August.  The smaller boat ended beached and partly capsized, while the larger boat was partly beached and had its starboard bow hitting the rocks, as crew where trying to remove her from the dangerous spot.  The causes of the grounding are not reported with social media posts blaming both boaters for ignoring the weather forecasts warning, as Cabo San Lucas harbour was also closed on the previous Monday night.
The big boat in this grounding is a Bertram 35 Mk.ii as produced from 1981 to 1986 to a design of David Napier.

Cleveland Storm Wrecks Sea Ray

A wicked storm touched down Cleveland, North East Ohio on the afternoon of Tuesday, sixth August, left hundreds of homes powerless and also damaged a nine meter Sea Ray sport cruiser in an unfortunate accident.  The Sea Ray cruiser which partly sank had an unfortunate accident, with the tree falling on it from the power of the wind, which were reported to have gusted up to 74 knots.   The National Weather Service also advised for Tornado warnings from 15:40 to 16:30 hours, with these touching down in southwestern Cuyahoga County and northeastern Lorain County. No fatalities are reported from this storm.
The Sea Ray in this part sinking is second generation 290 Sundancer as produced from 1998 to 2001.  The second generation 290 Sundancer replaced the first generation which was produced from 1992 to 97, a model which was actually born as the 270 Sundancer in 1990.

New Model: Tesoro Yachts T40 Inboard

Founded in 2015 with the first T38 model arriving in 2019, Tesoro Yachts from Spain has been on a growing spiral, and now after fifty units sold of its T40 which arrived in 2021 presents the Inboard version of its most successful model to date. The Tesoro T40 Inboard is mostly identical to the outboard with the main difference coming and the option of inboard diesels.  An evolution of the first Tesoro 38 model, the T40 offers more accommodation offering a forward double berth, a shower head to starboard, and twin single berths at midships.  The Tesoro T40 Inboard is powered by twin Volvo 300hp as standard, with 440hp options.

Two Injured in Azimut Yacht Small Boat Collision Near Savona

A collision between an eighteen meter Azimut flybridge yacht and a seven meter traditional cruiser, about half a nautical mile off the coast between Savona and Albissola at 15:20 hours of Tuesday sixth August injured two persons.  The dynamics of the collision are not fully reported, though the boaters of the small cruiser, a husband and wife ended both injured, with the man ending in the water and with grievous code red injuries.  The Azimut yacht involved in the collision assisted the distressed boaters of the smaller cruiser, with the Guardia Costiera m/v CP 863 intervening later with a medical team, and then taking the two injured boaters to a hospital in Pietra Ligure and Savona.  The small traditional cruiser partly sank with the collision and was then refloated, and along the Azimut yacht have been taken into custody for investigation on the collision by the Savona Captaincy.
The Azimut yacht in this collision is a 60 Flybridge as designed by Stefano Righini and produced since 2017.  The 60 Flybridge came out as a replacement to the previous 60 model.
The traditional cruiser in this collision is a Ligurian gozzo Sciallino 23.  The 23 is a long standing model in Sciallino line up, which was first produced in wood, and then renewed to a fiberglass build with an updated design in around the mid nineties.

Hatteras Sportfish Sinks Between Progreso and Alacranes

A sixteen meter Hatteras sportfish titled m/y On The Sly with twelve persons onboard started sinking between Progreso and Alacranes, after 05:00 morning time of Tuesday sixth August.  Ultimately the sportfish yacht later sank and capsized leaving the twelve boaters distressed in the open ocean.  The  news of the sinking mobilized the Mexican Navy through the XIII Naval Zone, which sent a Defender Type fast boat to rescue the crew members.  Boats, yachts and ships in nearby area where also advised to go in the position and rescue the boaters. The sportfish yacht sank thirty nautical miles north of Progreso and 35 miles south of Isla Pérez.  On The Sly departed Yucalpetén bound for Alacranes, with the yacht not making the journey as it developed a hull beach when under way and sank.
M/y On The Sly the sportfish in this sinking is a 2003 Hatteras 54 Convertible Series II.  The 54 Convertible Series II was produced from 2002 to 2010, coming as a replacement to the 55 Convertible Series II, and evolving into the sportier GT54.

Aquila Power Cat Burns Down at Longboat Marina Florida

An unattended 21 meter Aquila power catamaran titled m/y Steady AF went ablaze while berthed at Longboat Key Club, Florida at 20:30 hours of Monday fifth August.  The owner who was in Canada at the time of the fire, called Longboat Key Fire Rescue Department as he received an alert from the yachts feed system showing smoke.  The fire rescue department replied to the call, with the US Coast Guard also coming later to control the fire.  The boat burned through the night, with the fire officials determining that Lithium powered batteries where involved in the fire, although in later statements they did not confirm this was the cause of the blaze.  Ultimately Steady AF partly sank and was boon protected by the coast guard for any pollution that might come out. 
M/y Steady AF is an Aquila 70 Luxury, the power catamaran boat and yacht builder current flagship which debuted in 2021.  Aquila was a brand created in 2013 by MarineMax with Chinese company Sino Eagle Group which builds the power catamarans in Hangzhou City, China.

Classic Motor Yacht Burns and Sinks Offshore to Punta Licosa

A 21 meter classic motor yacht registered under Italian flag and with two persons onboard developed a fire first and then sank later five nautical miles offshore to Punta Licosa, offshore of Agropoli at about 13:00 hours of Monday fifth August.  Guardia Costiera Agropoli section intervened in the accident, saving the two crew from the burning yacht. The classic motor yacht ultimately was wrecked by the fire first and sank in a depth of one hundred meters into the Tyrrhenian sea.
The yacht in this sinking is a Cantieri Navali di Livorno Drake m 22 as designed by Aldo Cichero.  Debuting in 1974 the Livorno Drake is known by classic Italian yacht connoisseurs for managing to offer a raised pilot house in just 22 meters of length.

Five Persons Saved From Boat Fire in Campos Mallorca

Five persons were rescued from a cuddy sport cruiser fire of seven meters in length at Ses Covetes, Campos, to the South of Mallorca at about 12:00 hours of Monday fifth August.  The boaters jumped into the water after a may-day call as other nearby boaters assisted them.  Salvamento Maritimo intervened to the fire with the m/v Salvamar Mimosa which departed from Portocolom to the East of Mallorca.  After checking that no injuries were sustained by the boaters the Salvamento Maritimo crew tended to extinguishing the fire.  The boat was filmed and reported on anchor when it went ablaze with the cause of the fire not being reported.

One Young Boy Injured in Lake Texoma Classic Cruiser Explosion

A classic sport cruiser of eight meters in length with three adults and a young five year old boy went ablaze near the fuel dock of Bridgeview Marina in Lake Texoma, Madill, Oklahoma around 14:45 of Sunday fourth August.  The classic cruiser was reported to have just refuelled when on igniting the engine it exploded, and then went ablaze.  With the explosion the young boy suffered burns to arms, face, and legs and was helicopter air-lifted to Parkland Burn Center in Dallas. The three other adults; a 52 year old man, and two women of 51 and 25 years old were uninjured from the explosion.  Madill Fire Department and Tri-City Fire Department responded to the fire, as Oklahoma Department of Public Safety and  Oklahoma Highway Patrol are investigating the cause of the blaze.
The classic boat in this explosion is a Chris Craft Catalina 28 Express as produced in the mid eighties.  The Catalina 28 Express came as a replacement to the Catalina 281, and was one of the last raised cabin house cruisers from Chris Craft.
