Project: Maritimo M72 One

Maritimo One is the new custom program which involves three models M51, M72 and M78 of the down under Australian yacht builder.  In the M72 Sport Flybridge Motoryacht is the culmination of ideas from the Maritimo design department and a New Zealand based three-time client, who’s needs required a vessel capable of battling oceans in New Zealand’s North, in pursuit of prize fish.  The degree of customization Maritimo One has provided this customer incorporates over two hundred non-standard options with modifications to the hull’s running surface, transom, tank capacities and engineering, requiring fully customized weight studies and hydrostatic reports. These hull modifications have formed a craft ideal for backing up on fish in testing conditions, whilst still embracing Maritimo’s tried and tested hull and engineering design and expertise.  Modifications to the vessel did not stop at water level, as the extended water line incorporated a fully custom sport cockpit with live wells, bait tanks, mezzanine cockpit configuration, and other specialized fishing options.  Above deck in the flybridge, a modified hardtop has enhanced window openings and rear sight lines with a further customised helm pod and seating to the flybridge aft deck. The Maritimo M72 will feature a three double cabins lower deck with full beam midships master cabin.

Rizzardi New Web Site

Rizzardi presents its new web site.  Founded by Gianfranco Rizzardi in 1974 it started first as a boat support service structure in the central and South Tyrennian sea.  Still keeping its important service structures, Rizzardi eventually moved into construction in 1978 launching its first model the Rizzardi 40 in that year, with a range that expanded to include the 50 and 45 CR in both open Day and Fly flybridge models by the end of the eighties.  In 1993 Rizzardi was the first to start making group in Italy when he took over the then financially stuck Posillipo.  A legendary brand, Posillipo was founded in 1942, with its glorious legendary wooden story starting with the sport boat runabout models, moving to the fiberglass 42 Martinica and 47 Tobago flybridge cruisers, and then to the Technema series as designed by Zuccon which debuted in 1978 and put motor yachting into the future.  An important note is that the Rizzardi and Posillipo connection did exist before the yard became one in 1993, as even the hull shapes of the first Rizzardi models evolved from previous Posillipo Martinica and Tobago models.  Rizzardi currently features two brands; Posillipo and Rizzardi open; with the new web site currently focusing on two models from the Rizzardi line the 48 IN, and the new InSix.  Rizzardi new web site takes you around with the following buttons; InSix, 48 In, Made in Italy, Tradition, Custom Made, and Quality.

New Model: Pearl 95

To celebrate its twentieth anniversary Pearl launched its new flagship and largest build to date with the Pearl 95. The Pearl 95 continues the successful design collaboration between Bill Dixon responsible for the exterior and naval architecture, and Kelly Hoppen who designs the interior and  takes care of decor. The new Pearl flagship enters the British boat builder also into that magical 28 to 29 meter over-all size, with a hull length less to 24 meters which allows for the super yacht to enjoy smaller motor yacht legal status and be allowed to be piloted with a standard yacht master licence.  The Pearl 95 is offered in four or five double cabins layout versions, with an owners stateroom on the forward part of the main deck, with the optional layout replacing the big VIP midships suite, with two VIP rooms.  Crew space is for five persons in three cabins located forward, two shower heads and direct access from the galley on the main deck.  The Pearl 95 is standard powered by twin Cats 1925hp, with optional MTU 2400hp, or 2600hp engines.

Project: Wally 165 Wallypower

Ferretti Group and Wally are pleased to unveil the brand’s latest showstopping concept, the 165 Wallypower, which is the result of a unique collaboration between two creative geniuses whose reputations are truly stellar. For the first time, Espen Øino and Luca Bassani have creatively come together to design a fast open super sport yacht that will change the way the world sees Mediterranean cruiser yachts forever.  The 165 Wallypower is unmistakably a thoroughbred from the Wally stable, displaying performance and efficiency, an affinity with the sea and a piercing bow to effortlessly cut through waves. Inspired by the radical look of the 118 Wallypower, one of Wally’s first breakaway power boat creations, Øino took the essence of Bassani’s vision and transmuted it into this completely new category for the brand. The result is a Mediterranean cruiser that is fast, effortlessly cool and contemporary.  The 165 Wallypower is the first power super sport yacht concept to be released by Wally since it became a part of Ferretti Group this year, and its innovative nature is testament to why the two major yachting brands are so well aligned. The essence of any Wally is its innovation and power to surprise. As a category that has seen a lack of modernization over the decades, the fast open yacht market was ripe for an overhaul. Owners wanting a modern, medium-range Mediterranean cruising yacht to take them quickly and comfortably between glamorous destinations need look no further.  Øino’s 165 Wallypower concept incorporates features that are distinctively “Wally”, and previously unseen on Mediterranean yachts: uncluttered lines and open decks with a sharp, angular look; a large interior volume made possible through smart naval architecture and design; a sprawling outdoor space with natural flow to the interior for an “indoor-outdoor” lifestyle; and a sense of always being close to the water. The 50-metre superyacht has a tonnage of 499 GT, yet offers a superior feeling of space and many elements typically expected on a larger vessel. The 165 Wallypower’s standout features are plentiful, in particular the owner’s stateroom location on the main deck, providing privacy and space not usually afforded to owners of yachts this length. A further four ensuite guest cabins are found on the lower deck, alongside the crew and service area towards the bow.  Amidships on the main deck is a large saloon and dining area with double fold-down balconies, leading seamlessly to an outdoor dining space and swimming pool flanked by large sunpads. Port and starboard staircases take guests to the water’s edge with a beach club featuring U-shaped seating and large, fold-down bulwarks to extend the deck beyond the sides of the hull.  Typical of Wally’s signature look, railings and deck equipment are kept to a minimum, giving a sense of space and serenity. Glass replaces solid exterior bulwarks where possible, to maximize the feeling of closeness to the water, and tenders are stored in a concealed garage beneath the foredeck, which is uncluttered and vast.  The sundeck extends a full fifteen meters, unheard of on a yacht of this size and type. At the top of the staircase from the glass-encased bridge, a large raised settee offers an excellent vantage point for owners and guests while underway, and a central U-shaped bar is fully protected from the elements by a large hardtop and high glass bulwarks. A wide sunpad to the aft of the sundeck commands near-panoramic views of the water for the perfect relaxation spot. The 165 Wallypower delivers the assured seakeeping that one would expect of a Wally yacht. Slamming is the bane of many an owner’s life when it comes to fast open yachts but, thanks to the exceptional naval architecture expertise put to use in the superior hull form of the 165 Wallypower, it pierces the water effortlessly without a bump or roll.  With diesel engines and waterjet propulsion, the planing 165 Wallypower is expected to be capable of reaching 30 knots, making it the perfect way hop between Monaco and St Tropez or tour the coast of Sardinia, for example.
