New Model: Albemarle 360 EXF

It's been a recurring trend in recent years in Sportfish express models to include a  three part enclosed hard top.  Albemarle from the Carolina's, a renowned state of sportfish builders is next to do so. Albemarle starts this with its popular 360 model, now renamed as the Enclosed Express Fisherman for this version.  For the 360 EXF Albermarle also updated little changes to the cockpit layout most concerning the settee behind the center console helm station, and redesigned the dash layout now able to accommodate fifteen inch screens. The 360 EXF hard top also features the EZ2CY back drop to aft, which encloses to full the raised part of the cockpit. Accommodation layout of the 360 EXF mirrors that of the XF version with four or five berths possible below including a galley and a separate shower head.  Power options start from Volvo 435hp with IPS pods, and continue up to 660hp Cat engines.

Project: Sunseeker 86 Yacht

Sunseeker presents the project for a new 86 Yacht model which should replace the 88.  As the rendering shows the 86 Yacht follows exterior styling cues of the very much praised 28 Metre larger model introduced in 2012.  That means that a predominant feature of the 86 is that of a large window areas in both the main and lower decks.  The 86 also features a nice integrated hard top which covers over half of the area of the flybridge.  Four large cabins accommodate the owner and guests in the 86 Yacht. Interesting the owners stateroom of the 86 Yacht while still located amidships is in between the VIP to fore and the two guest cabins looking aft.  The VIP suite located to fore also features a separate staircase.   A nice feature is also the bar area on the central located galley on the main deck.  Two crew cabins with a small lobby and galley are located to stern.  Power is twin engines which total 3850hp and should give max speed up to 30 knots.

Project: Cayman 26 Ocean Vessel

An interesting project from Cayman yachts who with this new 26 Ocean Vessel enter the super yacht bracket above 24 meters.  Its a new segment for Italian builder Cayman Yachts who build a name in the last years thanks to its sports cruisers and yachts, hard-top or with flybridge, of a European design, with North American sport-fisherman subtle touches.  With this important upcoming flagship project Cayman enter also the Explorer segment.  But the 26 Ocean Vessel also signals other firsts for Cayman as it will be build of aluminium, will feature a displacement hull, and is a triple deck design.  Accommodation layout all located in the lower deck will feature four double cabins; one master stateroom, two VIP cabins, and a guest cabin.  The crew lobby features a galley plus two cabins.  Below will also be space for a small gym.  Designed by Hot Lab studio from Milan, the 26 Ocean Vessel has a tank tested hull, and a construction which is RINA certified and is to be powered by Man engines from 400hp, or optional 560 and 750hp units.

New Launch: Heesen 65m YN 16465

In spring of 2014 the first all aluminium fast displacement motor yacht was launched at Heesen’s facility in Oss and christened Galactica Star. The concept was presented to the yachting community in September 2010 at the Monaco Yacht Club and the contract for the construction of the first 65 metre Fast Displacement Hull Form was signed just one month later. Construction took place at the Heesen facility in Oss where the laying of the keel was marked with an official ceremony in February 2011. Sophisticated hydrodynamic design by Van Oossanen Naval Architects resulted in a vessel that is 30% more e efficient than a round-bilge motor yacht.  In conjunction with Heesen Yachts in-house naval architects, Van Oossanen Naval Architects also implemented the architecture. The vessel’s advanced design combines a special hybrid hull form that results in a very low wave profile over the entire speed range, while also improving sea-keeping and manoeuvrability. This provides a very positive impact on the cost of running the yacht, as well as lowering the environmental footprint due to reduced engine emissions.  When combined with Heesen’s acknowledged weight reduction expertise and a pair of MTU 5766hp, the 65 meter Fast Displacement Hull Form will be able to deliver a top speed of 27 knots as well as a very economical fuel burn and a particularly long range of 4.200Nm at 14 knots. Award-winning designers have been appointed by the Owners for this very special project: Frank Laupman at Omega Architects is responsible for the streamlined and elegant exterior lines, while Bannenberg and Rowell Design have created the sophisticated interior that perfectly complements such a dynamic and sleek exterior design.

New Model: Princess 43

It's always hard for a builder to replace a successful model, and this surely was the case for Princess when it decided to move on from its decade produced, four hundred plus units sold of the 42.  The Princess 43 replaces a long standing popular model, but more then replacing, this novelty evolves it with a list of important practical features. While many might think otherwise the Princess 43 is a new hull, longer by three feet, and beam extended by eleven centimeters.  For this new 43 Princess worked a lot to improve the convivial areas, the flybridge for example a weak spot of the 42 now features a superb practical layout with more living space and a dinette which works, and the aft deck one of the most respected features of the replacement has also been increased in space and now includes two way transom doors as the larger Princess models.  Inside the theme of more improvements continues, the main deck saloon is for example a view delight with its large all around windows making inside and outside blend in easy, and the galley located below also has a better connection to the saloon.  Below both of the cabins also feature more headroom and an increase in space.  If you want to be hard to get and find a weak spot to the Princess 43, I would say that considering it's length of fourteen meters that would be the no third cabin optional choice.

Project: Jaguar Catamarans JC48

Power Catamarans seems to have a niche growth in recent years, and Jaguar Catamarans is a new brand which comes from the United Kingdom.  So far Jaguar is showcasing four projects from 47 to 56 feet in two different lines; Power and a Trawler range.  The JC48 is currently Jaguar's first model under construction; and is a modern looking catamaran with a nice and spacious arrangement which offers three large cabins. Designed by renowned Bill Dixon with Jo Munford for interior styling, two features strike immediately in this JC48 the large owners full beam stateroom to fore, and the friendly layout of the main deck with its astern galley.  Standard power to push the expected 19.5 tons of weight is twin Yanmar 260hp or optional 370hp engines.

New Model: Prestige 750

It's an interesting time for the Beneteau Group the current largest boat builder in the World. It's motor boating brands have been a source for innovative layouts in the latest years, and the Prestige designers trio of Garroni, JandJ, and JP concepts do it most with the new 750 flagship of the brand.  It's been for a long time standing and called the holy grail of layouts in this size, that for an owners room at amidships, but this new Prestige challenges that concept with an owners cabin to fore, in a separate dedicated deck between the lower and main floors. This can have many advantages less water noise coming from the hull when on the bed, and higher no headroom problem.  Another challenging feature in the Prestige 750 is that of an astern galley and dinette, first featured on the Ferretti 630 in 2005, but a feature which hardly if ever seen in this size.  The Prestige 750 comes a few feet short of being a super-yacht but many of the features makes it an impressive for its size.
