Project: Raffaelli Shamal 40 HT

Raffaelli present the project for the Shamal 40 HT.  This is the third version of the Shamal which was born in year 2000, in 2006 the model was updated into the Evo version with a new two cabins two head interior cabin layout, and a revised cockpit deck with a spacious exterior galley to port side.  The Evo version also featured FPT 370hp engines, the most powerful engines on the model so far which allowed her to reach top speeds up to 33 knots.  The new Shamal HT will keep the same interior of the Shamal Evo, with the changes coming for a hard top and new large vertical panoramic window in the cabin area.  The Raffaelli Shamal following its launch has been a success story in the Italian used boat market in recent years, due to it being one of the few sport cruisers of twelve meters in length with shaft drive propulsion and a CE A certification.

Raffaelli New Web Site

A renowned and long standing Italian yacht builder, Raffaelli presents its new website. Raffaelli journey starts in 1962 when Renato partners a boat service yard in Fano's commercial harbour with Luciano Mochi.  In 1970 Renato Raffaelli part ways from Mochi, going on his own and starts boat production in 1972.  During the Mochi partnership, Renato will win the longest and hardest Mediterrean powerboat race to ever exist, the Bastia-Viareggio-Bastia with the production build Mochi Thaitayn in Offshore Class Two category in 1968.   Renato Raffaelli will follow this by winning Italian Offshore Class Two category in 1970, which will prize him the Golden Nautical Rose in Italy. Raffaelli first model was the wood built 9.30 meter Compass Rose launched in the end of 1972, which was followed in 1974 by the 35 Regal flybridge and Day version built in fiberglass.  Raffaelli will have a gradual and important expansion over the years, and from the eighties till the noughties it will produce about twenty to thirty boats a year. This expansion is also shown in larger models from the thirteen meter Super Typhoon which debuts in 1983, to the fifteen meter Ouragan designed by Fulvio de Simoni presented three years, to the AMC series first of 20 and then 22 meters produced from the early to late nineties.  Following the great recession of 2009 and spiralling downward new boat sales in Italy, in 2010 Raffaelli is in financial difficulty and enters bankruptcy protection status giving managing duties to Stefano Marinucci one of the most Raffaelli  productive dealers in previous years and Aurelio La Noce his sales manager.  This experience does not bring the desired stability and from 2015 the son of Renato, Giampiero Raffaelli rebrings the helm of the company to the family.  Raffaelli has always had a reputation for seaworthy boats, proven with the CE A category certification versus the B most boats of similar size feature. Currently Raffaelli is producing seven models in two ranges, Fly and Open, and start from the 40 Shamal Evo to the 70 Ontera. Raffaelli latest model is the end 2018 launched Compass Rose 50 Evo.  Raffaelli new web site is available in Italian, and English language and takes you around with the following buttons; Home, About Us, Yachts, Club and Concierge, International, Sponsoring, News, and Contact Us. Raffaelli is also on social media with link buttons for its Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and Youtube pages located at the bottom of the page.

Project: Raffaelli 21,30 mt HT

Raffaelli present the project for a seventy feet plus hard top sport yacht.  This sport yacht is based on the Ontera 70 hull, and presents a completely redesigned upper structure.  The lower deck of the Raffaelli hard top offers four double cabins including a separate entry master cabin at midship.  Another particular difference in the guest accommodation for a yacht this size is the VIP cabin also located at midship, but further forward to the owners cabin.  Crew accommodation is for two in a forward cabin.  All the living and dining is located on the main deck, with a traditional Italian separate galley in standard layout located behind the helm station to starboard.  Power for the Raffaelli is by twin 1150hp MTU with line shaft propulsion.  No performance numbers are communicated but I would expect similar thirty knots performance of the Ontera flybridge model.

Interior accommodation will be of four double cabins all with private shower heads.  Fourth crew cabin is to be located at midships in between the owners cabin and the aft engine room. Power options are for engines from 400 to 550hp with line shaft or IPS pod propulsion.  For the 159 Babylon Raffaelli choice a semi displacement hull shape with a central protecting keel.

Project: Raffaelli 50 Compass Rose Evo

Raffaelli updates one of its most successful models of the past 2000 to 2010 decade, the 50 Compass Rose presenting the project for a new Evo version currently under construction in Pesaro, on the Adriatic coast of Italy.  The project for the 50 Compass Rose Evo is designed by Antonello Lucio Pontevolpe from Classyacht Design Studio, already a designer of three other successful Raffaelli models the Shamal, Calima, and Meltemi, and the 25 meter Thaitan which so far has never been released.  Antonello the Italian designer and company boss Giampiero Raffaelli decided to make soft make up touches keeping the line simple to that of a modern Italian yacht without going into useless design excesses.  Therefore if you are someone looking for endless window surfaces this is not the yacht for you.  The 50 Compass Rose Evo will also feature a technical change as it can be powered by Volvo IPS pod drives propulsion, or a shaft system.  Hull one of the Raffaelli 50 Compass Rose Evo will be powered by twin Volvo 550hp units with IPS700 pod drives, which should see interesting performance gains considering the previous larger engine shaft set up was that of twin Cats 510hp.

New Model: Raffaelli 42 Typhoon Sportage

Raffaelli is back, and after making recent years showing future plans the known Italian name headed to the 2015 Cannes boat show with an important new model, that of the 42 Typhoon Sportage.  The new Raffaelli is in many ways representative of the firms look see light curved shear-line and style of bow, but the super structure looks and propulsion put the Italian boat builder into new ground.  It is fair to say that while with the 42 Typhoon Sportage Raffaelli brings a fresh novelty to design and boating in general, the new model does not over do it in its lines.  The 42 Typhoon Sportage is a very original design, covering a new niche in today's market.  To be fair to press it is not something totally new, Italcraft had a similar model in the late seventies named 43 Espada, and it was in that time a good seller for the famous Rome marquee. But apart presenting an original design the 42 Typhoon Sportage also has a lot of substance, offering three large cabins below deck, a living entertainment orientated main deck area, and an original raised helm.
Technical Data:
LOA - 13.98 m (42.5ft)
Waterline Length - 11.6 m
Beam - 4.24 m

Fuel Capacity - 1100 l
Water Capacity -
Accommodation - 6 berths in 3 cabins

Project: Raffaelli 56 Maestrale

It is model name return; Maestrale is Italian translation to North-West a prevailing wind of the Mediterranean sea which Raffaelli give for the second time coming a tribute.  In 1994 Raffaelli presented a project for a 52 Maestrale, designed by growing in demand architects Nuvolari Lenard from Venice.  It was a historical success and the 52 Maestrale will stay in production for over a decade selling over one hundred units. Twenty years later to the launch of the 52, Raffaelli present another Maestrale with the project for this new 56. Designed by Classstudio of Antonello Lucio Pontevolpe, the architect behind recent successful Raffaelli models from the Shamal, Meltemi, to the Calima.  For the new 56 Maestrale, Pontevolpe went for a very low profile upper structure flybridge and a nice sportster type wrap around windscreen. If this rendering will be true to the original from the distance the 56 Maestrale may look as a sport yacht. Details are so far little for this new important project but on the paper side Raffaelli seems to be challenging the market for a full return as is the desire of owner Giampiero Raffaelli.

Project: Raffaelli 42 Typhoon Sportage

For this new project Raffaelli return to one of the names, Typhoon what was an important marker in its rich model history.  The 42 Typhoon Sportage is the next model to come from the South Adriatic Pesaro based boat builder and this is to be a three cabin motor cruiser with a hidden sport bridge on top, offering lounging and sunbathing accommodation. Interesting 42 Typhoon Sportage against Raffaelli models history will be a super structure heavy sport cruiser, reminiscent of builders ccoming from North America in the eighties and nineties.  The heavy super structure though does have its premium though and will offer a super spacious main split level main deck with a layout offering an astern galley, C-shape dinette, C-shape lounge, and a single seat helm-station to port side.  Power will be twin 350hp engines.

Project: Raffaelli 9.99 mt Nashi Hard Top

Starting its course again, Raffaelli presents a project for a new ten meter sport cruiser with interesting living solutions, and a Hard Top clearly thought out for sun protection. This new model also presents very similar lines to a successful Raffaelli still in production model, the two meters larger 40 Shamal. Accommodation layout of the Nashi will be an open plan lower deck, with a U shaped dinette forward, galley to port side, second L-shaped saloon to starboard, and a separate shower head.  Power will be twin Volvo 330hp engines with IPS 450 forward looking pod drives propulsion.

Project: Raffaelli 55 Storm IPS

Italian builder Raffaelli who just received new investment presents its latest challenge and new direction to the market with a project for a 55 Storm IPS.  This model is a fully enclosed sport yacht, sun roof hard top and aft patio door, and as the title says is to be powered by the Volvo forward looking dual propeller pods.  The design is trusted to Italian naval architect and designer Milavonovic, who presents lines which pay homage to this builder forty years plus story in boat building.  So far Raffaelli has not advised if the 55 Storm is to replace the 2003 presented 57 Kubang.  As the enclosed configuration usually shows, the 55 Storm offers a living on the main deck, with intelligent modern solutions making part of the concept as astern galley by the patio door which also serves the aft cockpit, and a wet bar to port side.  A C-shaped dinette is to be found to fore of the interior saloon to port side, with a very forward located helm station to starboard.  Down below we have an area dedicated only to the cabins, here offering three spacious rooms, with each having its own en-suite bathroom.  The layout while making the best of IPS pods, impresses not only for having a cabin with no bunks but also for the space dedicated in each room, and for the spacious owners stateroom located to midships.  Standard power for the 55 Storm IPS is from twin Volvo 435hp with the builder promising a top speed of 31 knots at a full load of 18 tons.

New Model: Raffaelli 65 Meltemi

The Raffaelli 65 Meltemi is a much waited model, in the line of this Italian boat builder, renowned for building quality cruisers and yachts, with good sea keeping capabilities. Raffaelli has once again created a nice looking big motor yacht with a lot of Italian flare going into its lines, giving a sporty classic profile and taking some hints especially in the shape of the windows from the smaller 47 Calima introduced last year. The 65 Meltemi has the feeling of a big yacht and indeed it is, the 3 cabin interior is classic in the layout but still if offers some unseen concepts, like the separate entrance to the owners cabin mid ship, and the heads located to fore of the 2 guest cabins, giving a more comfortable central position to same. The saloon is a classic dual raised concept with the relaxing lounge c-shaped divan upon entrance, a c-shaped dining table for 6, and an l-shaped galley. The flybridge layout is also classic, offering a sunpad to aft, l-shaped settee to starboard and the helm station to port. The standard engines are twin Caterpillar 850 hp, with estimates of a 30 knots top speed.
Technical Data:
Length - 19 m (62.3ft)
Beam - 4.94 m
Accommodation - 6 berths in 3 cabins, 3 heads, 1 crew cabin aft
Engines - 2 x Caterpillar 850hp
Speed - 30 knots max
Certification - CE A

New Model: Raffaelli 47 Calima

Introduced to fill the range between the bigger Compass Rose and smaller Levante models is the new Raffaelli Calima. The Calima is a very spacious flybridge cruiser featuring a 3 double cabins, 2 heads accommodation finished in very warm light colored oak finish with chromed grey and silver metals additions. Based on the variable Deep Vee hull of Raffaelli, it offers a very good performance level of 30 knots with only twin 400hp Iveco Aifo engines on shaft drives, a comfortable speed considering the 18 tons of loaded weight for this cruiser. This horsepower speed configure should give superior fuel consumption levels. The new Calima continues the Raffaelli guarantee of a superior CE A Category standard, something not found much in this size of craft plus a 6 year Osmosis and structural warranty.

Projects: Raffaelli 25 Thaityan, Raffaelli 60 Meltemi, Raffaelli Calima

Raffaelli presents a project of what should be the new flagship at 25 mtr of the Pesaro Italian boat builder. Little information have been presented so far but imagine a standard 4 cabin layout plus crew, superb sea keeping qualities and the usual perfect weight distribution the yard is renowned for, that usually gets a CE Category A certification also on the smaller models like the 12 metre Shamal.
The Raffaelli 60 Meltemi named after the famous Greek wind, will fit nicely between the successful 52 Maestrale and the current top of the range 66 Ontera motor yachts. Standard layout is a spacious 3 cabin affair with a full width master cabin mid ship and 2 spacious identical guest cabins forward. Speed estimation is for 30 knots with 2 x Caterpillar 850 hp engines.
Raffaelli Calima is the novelty at the medium competitive 14 metre flybridge motor cruiser category, fitting between the other Raffaelli family models 12.96 mtr Levante Fly and the 15 mtr Compass Rose. The interior layout is a classic 3 cabin affair with master cabin forward with en-suite head, 2 identical guest cabins with 2 in-line single berths and guest shower head. Performance estimation is for a 30 knot top speed with 2 x 400 HP Iveco Aifo engines. As all Raffaelli boats also this new project will be built and constructed to a CE Category A standard, something not very common in most of the offers in this size range.
