Three Croatian boaters were saved as an eleven meter sport cruiser went ablaze offshore to Foce Vargano, Peschici, Gargano park, on the Italian Adriatic sea at about 18:00 hours of Wednesday fourth September. The boaters jumped in the water and were assisted by the m/v Onda of the Navi Tremiti line sailors, who took the three people onboard and then transported them to the Vieste harbour. Once in Vieste the boaters were given a medical check by the 118 emergency personnel. The sport cruiser is reported to have sunk after the fire, with the cause of the fire reported to start from a short circuit with the Port Captaincy of Rodi investigating the accident.
The boat in this fire is a Gagliotta Camaro Tris 12 metri as designed by its builder and produced from the mid eighties to the nineties. The Camaro Tris was called this way for being powered by a triple Volvo diesel and stern drive set up, with the model replacing the wood build SG 12, and then replaced by the Gagliotta Camaro 43.
