Princess Yacht Burns at Cortez Cove Marina

A 21 meter Princess motor yacht was destroyed by fire while dry docked at Cortez Cove Marina, Cortez, Florida with the flames starting on 1545 hours of Monday eighteen January.  The Princess motor yacht had marina staff performing maintenance, when a fire ignited onboard.  Fire fighters from West Manatee and Cedar Hammock responded to the call, and then fighted it and fully extinguishing after eighteen hours.  No one was injured in the fire and surprisingly no damages to surrounding boats and the environment occurred even though the yacht had about seven hundred liters of fuel onboard and was just a couple of meters away from the water.  The cause of the fire is under investigation but marina staff onboard the vessel reported that they saw smoke coming from the electrical panels, before the yacht blazed into flames.
The Princess in this fire is a 2014 72 MY, as designed by Bernard Olesinski and produced from 2010 to 2015.  The Princess 72 MY offers a four double cabins lower deck layout, with a two berth crew cabin.  The 72 MY had an evolutive production with changes coming to the large windows serving the master cabin becoming frame less from 2012 model year.  The 72 MY came out as a replacement to the 21M and was replaced by the 75 in 2016.
