A huge fire broke out in Marina Kastela, to the North West of Split, in Croatia on Saturday 29th May 2021 around 2140 hours. The fire broke out apparently on a 22 meter motor yacht, and then went on to the other nearby and opposite yachts. The result is that five boats have been totalled, and eighteen have been damaged. Fire fighters from Kastela, Split, and Solin spent up to the following morning controlling and reducing the fire. Only one person had minor injuries which considering the time of the accident and the period in the season it could have been much worse.
The yachts involved in the accident seems to be a Fipa Maiora 24S, Sunseeker 72 Predator, and a Ferretti 760. We still do not know the full dynamics of the accident but some Croatia news are reporting it all started from a galley fire.
