Project: Sunseeker 48 Portofino

After presenting five new models during the recent Southampton show, Sunseeker present the project for the 48 Portofino. When this new model will be realized it will replace the current 47 Portofino, and with the 43 Superhawk stopped in production, this will be the British, Poole based builder entry level boat. About twenty years ago Sunseeker largest offer was smaller to this with the 47 Malibu commanding the fleet, while today this upcoming Sport Cruiser the 48 Portofino welcomes you to the well known by everyone brand. Developed on the 47 Portofino hull shape with an identical beam, the 48 will offer a modern diversified twin en-suited cabin interior. The owners stateroom is a mid ship full beam affair, and the fore cabin will have the intelligent scissor berth movement transforming this suite from a VIP with queen double berth to two singles in seconds. As to what regards propulsion the 48 Portofino keeps the same concept as applied for the 47 by leaving the client the choice in propulsion offering both traditional in line shafts with tunnel drives, or the latest easy to use pod drives. Engines are twin choices up to a total of 1150hp, with top speeds estimates of 30 knots.
