Project: Overmarine Mangusta Oceano 44

Overmarine present the project for a new Mangusta Oceano 44, a 44 metres super yacht full of technology and style, developed jointly by Overmaine Group’s Engineering department and designer Alberto Mancini, who took care of both her exteriors and interiors. This ultra-modern super yacht is a sea loft with a blend of glass, charm and audacity, with three-decks which give much more than being just an evolution of the previous models. Conceived as successor to the multi-award winner Mangusta Oceano 43, the 44 adds a new flare to the philosophy of global floating architecture, offering guests unprecedented experiences and the pleasure of spending every single moment of cruising in the utmost comfort.  One focus point in the definition of the Ocean 44 was that all areas should be seamlessly connected, a goal that was achieved through a series of side and crosswise sliding doors, creating a harmonious continuum of solutions and materials.  The beach club is the perfect example of this design approach: conceived to be the very heart of social life, once the transom is opened and the side terraces are unfolded, it becomes a 180° marine environment brightened by the natural light that filters through the side openings and the partially glazed upper deck, resulting in an incredibly airy and yet cosy area.  The various relaxation areas take the concept of onboard life to its ultimate expression: one of the most distinguishing features are two infinity pools located on the sun and main decks. The first, on the main deck, is called “The Island”: it is a sunbathing area embraced by water, which can be easily accessed via a teak deck, removing any possible barrier with the surrounding environment and creating a truly full-immersion experience; the second is on the spacious sun deck, from where guests can enjoy breath taking views over the ocean from dawn to sunset.  Huge volumes and generous spaces like the sundeck, so far unthinkable on a yacht in her class make the Mangusta Oceano 44 a real pearl, further enriched by equally precious interiors, where the alternation and skilful combination of warm and cold materials, lacquered surfaces and matt woods, marbles and leather, results in a flawless interpretation of contemporary minimalism. The master cabin, located on the main deck, is connected to the upper deck by the skylights created on the bottom of the infinity pool, which let natural light shine through and fill the cabin with mesmerising water reflections. The cabin is also fitted with a mechanically-driven balcony, from which the Owner will be able to enjoy his own private view of the ocean.  The salon on the upper deck is a very exclusive area: thanks to three large sliding doors, two of which on the sides, guests will never have to choose between indulging in pure relaxation and admiring amazing views.  This yacht’s elegant layout is characterised by a harmonious design consistency between indoor and outdoor areas, also thanks to an extensive use of glass. Steel handrails and bulwarks have been replaced by see-through glass surfaces mounted flush with teak, a solution that has opened up new scenarios and allowed to achieve impressively generous areas that would normally be unattainable on a traditional three decker.  The Mangusta Oceano 44 is a worldwide steel and aluminium yacht, featuring a streamlined and elegant profile but also offering outstanding performances and a range of 4,500 nautical miles, a maximum speed of sixteen knots, and a cruising speed of eleven, with the comfort ensured by zero-speed and underway stabilizers.

Project: Greenline 58 Fly

In light of the success of the 45 Fly, Greenline is delighted to reveal the latest addition to its revolutionary range of flybridge cruisers, the 58 Fly. Launching in autumn 2022, the all-new 58 Fly fits into the range to bridge the gap between the popular 48 Fly and flagship 68 OceanClass models.  The 58 Fly marks the beginning of a new partnership between Greenline, Marco Casali of Too Design and MICAD engineering. Casali has penned a fresh exterior look for this new model with clean lines and tight proportions retaining the focus on elements that make a Greenline such a pleasurable boat to live aboard. The single-level main deck with aft galley ensures the saloon and cockpit combine to create a large living and entertaining area and the cut-outs in the forward bulwarks align to deliver spectacular views over the water from the lower deck.  From the deck spaces to the arrangement of the interior the 58 Fly has the flexibility in its layout to suit a wide variety of needs. At the stern, an extended hydraulic bathing platform with a 500kg lift capacity and aft-facing transom bench form an idyllic waterside living area with the cockpit’s glass balustrade creating the perfect terrace over the sea. The cockpit seating sits at 90 degrees from the traditional arrangement with its benches running along the boat’s centreline so that everyone seated at the table has a view over the water. With a pair of director’s chairs six can dine but the extended table and an extra set of chairs allow eight people to sit in the shade and comfort of the well-protected cockpit. When not called upon for dining duties, the hi-lo table and a set of in-fill cushions convert this area into a spacious day bed with a wonderful connection to the beach club aft. Forward, as well as more sun bathing space on the coach-roof, two aft-facing seats are arranged opposite a cosy bench to create an intimate living space that offers excellent privacy if moored stern-to.  The flybridge comes as standard with a radar mast mounted at its aft end, a good option for those cruising in areas with restricted air draught but a substantial carbon fibre T-top offers excellent protection on the top deck. A well-equipped wet bar, spacious dinette and open space aft for free-standing furniture make for a flybridge that excels as an area for guests to relax and enjoy day or night.  On board, a bright and spacious main deck with Greenline’s familiar aft galley layout gives way to a voluminous accommodation deck that bristles with innovation. The standard arrangement comprises three cabins, two bathrooms and walk-in wardrobes for the master and VIP ensuites. The master cabin stretches across the boat’s full beam amidships, with a double VIP in the bow and a generous twin to starboard. It is possible to sacrifice the walk-in wardrobe in the VIP to make space for a third bathroom that becomes a day head but the real game-changer on this deck is the option to replace the twin guest cabin with a dedicated study. In a world where we are working in a new way, this fully fitted out office space with built-in monitors, HDMI and USB points, printer storage and a stylish yet functional office chair allows owners to work remotely in comfort with the genuine functionality of a home office. A sofa that converts into a single berth built into this arrangement offers occasional sleeping space if needed.  A crew cabin with a single berth or bunk beds is available but on owner-run boats this area can be used as a utility space and workshop, the added storage space a big advantage for those who wish to stay on board for extended periods. With the 58 Fly, Greenline Yachts cements its position as the leading manufacturer of boats with alternative propulsion. An array of 11 solar panels arranged across the flybridge and hard top structures produce 3.6kW of power and allow the boat’s domestic services to run without a noisy diesel generator. Additionally, a newly developed hybrid system with a pair of 25kW motors includes an adaptable hydraulic clutch that means it can be connected inline to any shaft drive engine.  Standard engine choices include 610hp and 715hp Cummins diesels, both available with Hybrid Drive, and a diesel only twin 1,000hp Caterpillar option for a top speed of 30 knots. The Cummins 715s with Hybrid Drive will push the 58 Fly to a top speed of 26 knots, cruise at 20 knots and cruise on electric power only at 6 knots for a range of 30 nautical miles on a full charge. Weight saving is a key part of the 58 Fly’s engineering in respect of the fact that every tonne of weight sacrifices 1 knot of speed. To this end, carbon fibre is used throughout the boat, namely in the hard top and superstructure, in order to keep weight down and a new lightweight core in the sandwich construction has been introduced with the same goal in mind.

New Model: Solace 415 CS

With a lot of attention currently on the big centre consoles of around fifteen meters or more powered by the new 2021 presented 600hp Mercury, Volvo turns it around and collaborates with Solace for a stern drive powered twelve meter centre console.  The twelve meter size has been the bread and butter for the outboard expansion the past years, so Volvo trying to gather interest in this section of the market is not a combination of events.  Enters the Solace 415 CS, the sterndrive inboard version of the 41 CS.  The advantages for stern drives are known, from a clear uncluttered transom area to better consumption offered by the diesel inboards which compared to the triple outboard 41 offers according to preliminary data fifty per cent less fuel use and a range up to 497 nautical miles.  It will be interesting if we see other builders follow Solace and offer diesel sterndrive inboards on some of the bigger centre consoles.
Technical Data:
LOA - 12.49 m (41ft)
Beam - 3.73
Draft - 0.60 m * drives up
Fuel Capacity - 1680 l
Water Capacity - 151 l
Max Persons - sixteen
Accommodation - two berths
Engines - 2 x Volvo D6 440hp
Propulsion - Volvo dual propeller DPI stern drives

Supply Chain Issues

The boating and yachting market has returned to where it was in 2008 before the global crisis of that fall, and what we get?  Supply chain issues currently affecting global trade, which unfortunately also affect boat building.  It will be interesting how the boating market will be affected by this.  New builds whether of small boat builders might suffer the most, but even some bigger ones are taking the hit for the reason that they cannot expand how much they like.

Global trade is so much connected together, that a stop to something generates a shock.  The Suez channel seven day blockage of March 2021 is a reminder how even such an accident, affecting only one ship can slow global trade.  According to economic experts the M/V Ever Given blockage of the Suez channel and disruption of global trade, has ripple affects effecting us till today.  That was only seven days!

Supply Chain issues are a let down, especially in this expanding boating market, where one can see boat builders and brands enter an era of growth, which in a normal scenario would translates to more offers of size and type.  With these supply chain issues the successful results shown in the boat shows of Cannes, Genova, and Monaco made even the big builders extend there order book by time.  Yes 2022 is sold out for most, and 2023 is half way there, with the popular new models having to enter in 2024. In a normal market a boat builder would try to build more boats, in the 2021/22 everyone is making a step at a time and with extreme caution.

So yes it is a great time to build and sell new boats, but it is in the end a half filled glass, which could have been full, way much fuller.

Azimut Selected for Compasso D'Oro Award

Magellano 25 Metri has been included in the ADI Design Index, the coveted annual list of the world’s best products that will be candidates for the Compasso D’Oro Award.  The yacht born from the collaboration between the shipyard, Ken Freivokh and Vincenzo De Cotiis is therefore a candidate for this most prestigious of international awards, created in 1954 by Gio Ponti, together with the most fascinating projects in every sector.  Confirming the unique features of a product that has set a new benchmark for design and is the first crossover in the yachting world, Magellano 25 Metri by Azimut Yachts will compete for the upcoming Compasso d’Oro, the long-running design award whose Historical Collection has been recognised as of exceptional artistic and historical interest by the Italian Ministry of Culture and included in the national heritage. The yacht’s inclusion in the ADI Design Index, the list of the year’s best creations selected by the storied association, is the first step in competing for the award.  The ADI’s Permanent Observatory - a panel of experts, designers, critics, historians and journalists - has recognised the original feature of the project, expressed by the union of chic and timeless lines designed by Ken Freivokh, a point of reference in the yachting world and the creator of a Collection that has revolutionised the sector, and the interiors created by world famous architect and important exponent of collectible art Vincenzo De Cotiis.  The two protagonists behind Magellano 25 Metri, innovators by nature in their respective fields, have created a unique yacht, a work of seagoing art that stands out for a singular perception of spatial depth and continuous visual contact with the sea. An unusual feature of the design is the widespread use of “artistic fibreglass”, created with an elaborate artisanal process, which is given a new lease of life here and becomes an aesthetic feature, paired with materials and woods like brushed Verde Alpi marble, dark walnut wood, carpet, polished brass, and lacquered or ribbed wood.  The furnishings have flowing designs and seamless curving lines, the fabrics on board are by Loro Piana Interiors, and the hull is an original burnished petrol blue colour with a mustard beauty stripe.

Bayliss on the Tuna in Nantucket Bluefin Blast

Congratulations to the crew on Singularis for placing third in the Nantucket Bluefin Blast on September 19th! 590 tuna were released in the tournament, and Singularis ended the day with 31 bluefin releases to secure third place. Singularis made the most of their time fishing up north; the crew scored big with a 700 pound catch just a few days after the tournament. The bluefin tuna was 108 inches long and put up a 2.5 hour fight.

Bering Teams Up with Trasco Bremen

Bering Yachts and Trasco Bremen, the world’s leading commercial builder of armoured vehicles with over 35 years of experience, are proud to announce a collaboration for protecting specific areas aboard Bering explorer yachts. The aim of the partnership is to provide discerning owners with comfort and autonomy combined with added on-board safety so they and their families can cruise remote locations with complete peace of mind. Steel-hulled Bering yachts are already renowned for their rugged construction, but shielding the most critical areas with bullet proof materials– such as the wheelhouse or engine room, as well as vital machinery or the navigational, communication and alarm systems – offers ultimate protection against unwanted intrusion.

Evo Yachts Boat Builder Award Finalist

At the 2021 Boat Builder Awards Evo Yacht and Besenzoni make to the final thanks to an amazing teamwork. The two Italian Companies are among the finalists at the 2021 Boat Builder Awards, in the category "Collaborative Solutions between Boat or Superyacht Builder and its Supply Chain Partner".  The jury was favorably impressed by the result of this collaboration that led, on board the new Evo V8, to the development of new tailor-made solutions that are both aestetically pleasant and incredibly effective.  Starting from already existing product offered by Besenzoni, shipyard and designer Valerio Rivellini managed to create new solutions, and event customize some of the products, to adapt them to the yacht’s peculiar design.  Winners will be announced on November 17th, during the Amsterdam METS 2021, but for the two Companies this final is already an incredible recognition, celebrating the amazing results that can be achieved when two nautical excellences come together to collaborate.

Feadship Refit Services Busy Winter Ahead

In a huge milestone for the Refit and Services programme that Feadship officially began offering in 2018, at least ten yachts are arriving in the Netherlands for a winter season of refurbishments, upgrades and renovations at the four Feadship yards. To most of the yachts originally built by Feadship, it will be a homecoming, as wherever practical the yachts will return to the yards of their launch.  Some vessels are yachts from other northern European yards whose owners are also Feadship clients, according to Pier Posthuma de Boer, Refit & Services Director. These projects will bring updates to yachts as new as the well-traveled 2018 Sherpa and the hard-working Gallant Lady launched in 1996. Work booked ranges from routine service and warranty work or class-required surveys to major refits to systems and interiors, says Posthuma de Boer.

Ferretti Group Record Breaking September

Ferretti Group’s incredible 2021 continues with a record-breaking September and an order intake in the first three quarters of the year exceeding 900 million euros, of which over 220 million in September alone. Strong growth is reported in steel and aluminium superyachts, built at the Ancona Superyacht Yard, rewarding the Riva and Pershing superyacht projects and confirming CRN as one of the most active players in the segment.  Ferretti Group delivered over 160 boats from January to September 2021, including the spectacular Riva Fifty. 50 metres long, M/Y “Fifty” was developed by the Riva Superyacht Division to offer an outstanding cruising experience defined by comfort, attention to detail and an evolved vision of life at sea: values that have made Riva a legendary name in international yachting for the last 179 years.  “2021 for Ferretti Group is like one of those wonderful films that make you dream from beginning to end,” commented Ferretti Group CEO Alberto Galassi. “It got off to a great start and is continuing to deliver spectacular results, with great plot twists like this outstanding performance put in by steel and aluminium superyachts. But the excitement isn’t over yet, with a few more months of nice surprises ahead and what is bound to be a grand finale.”

Frauscher Representation in Ibiza

The Frauscher shipyard has a new partner in Ibiza. Haller Experiences specialises in rental and sale of day cruiser and water toys. From spring 2022, Haller Experiences will expand its exclusive charter fleet with a Frauscher 1212 Ghost and two Frauscher 1414 Demon Air. Johannes Haller, founder and managing director of Haller Experiences: "We offer individual and unique experiences in Ibiza and Formentera. With Frauscher boats, our portfolio takes on a new quality in terms of elegance and comfort that our customers will appreciate." Stefan Frauscher, Frauscher shipyard: "In Haller Experiences we have found a perfect partner who is, just like Frauscher, committed to innovation. Our mission is to set standards in international boat building. To achieve this, our engineers regularly fuse new technologies with contemporary design and living craftsmanship traditions." The young team around Johannes Haller turns charter trips into an experience. The cooperation with Frauscher was therefore a logical step, as unforgettable experiences are also the goal of the "engineers of emotions". With the 1414 Demon Air, they impressively prove it: on deck, the 14-metre long offshore yacht has an inviting lounge area with bar and a spacious bathing platform. Inside the yacht there is a large seating area with a kitchenette, a bathroom and a cabin in which up to four people can stay overnight.

Frauscher Comes to Denmark

The Frauscher Shipyard is pleased to announce it has an agent in Ishøj, Denmark. As of now, the experienced yacht broker Tempo BÃ¥dsalg will include the Frauscher brand in its product range. Starting next season, test drives of the 858 Fantom Air will be possible for any Danes who are interested.  Stewart Moeliker-Twigg, Tempo BÃ¥dsalg: "Our goal has always been to sell top quality products combined with fantastic performance. When the Frauscher Shipyard came knocking at our door, a collaboration was obvious to us - especially since we already have a Frauscher 1017 GT and a 1017 GT Air on site."  Stefan Frauscher, Frauscher Shipyard: "We are proud to have found a professional partner in Northern Europe with Tempo BÃ¥dsalg, who also supports our philosophy. This is an important step in the expansion of our distribution network."  Tempo BÃ¥dsalg is one of Denmark's leading yacht dealers. The dedicated service and experienced sales team working alongside managing directors Stewart Moeliker-Twigg, Gert Sørensen and Henrik Jørgensen have been fulfilling customers' nautical dreams for over thirty years. The company's infrastructure includes its own harbour with 120 berths, a crane, 2,000 m2 of exhibition space and a winter storage facility.  The addition of Frauscher to their portfolio was a logical step towards continuing to meet the highest of customer needs in the future. After all, the mission of the Frauscher Shipyard is to set standards in international boatbuilding at an international level. In order to achieve this the engineers at the family-run Austrian boat manufacturer regularly blend new technologies with contemporary design and living traditions in craftsmanship.

Horizon Next Level Construction and Testing

The Horizon Group continues to pioneer the evolution of advanced composite yacht construction as the world’s first and only yacht builder to implement a variety of Non-Destructive-Testing (NDT) methods. For two decades, Horizon has been pioneering the advancement of composite yacht construction through the efforts of its subsidiary Atech Composites. Founded in 2000, Atech specializes in advanced composites, producing not only the hull, decks and superstructure of every Horizon yacht, but also providing Fiber Reinforced Plastics (FRP) components across multiple industries in Asia and beyond.  Atech has been behind such notable achievements as the world-record infusion of a 140ft yacht hull in a single shot and many award-winning cross-industry composite components from wind turbine blades to high-speed rail cars. In 2004, Atech developed an improved 3D resin infusion technology that transforms the original 2D resin flow on surfaces to 3D flow, which climbs up and down internal stiffeners, enabling the build of far larger structures than previously possible.

Maritimo Awards Apprentice of the Year

A can-do attitude and ability to problem solve combined with hard work has seen luxury motor yacht manufacturer Maritimo’ s Zoe De Pryck recognised for her talents with her being named the Boating Industry Association’s 2021 Queensland Apprentice of the Year.  A well-deserved win it came as no surprise to those who work with her and know her and follows an impressive awards’ lead up with an outstanding performance in Queensland TAFE.  The now fully qualified cabinet maker was the winner of the first-year apprentice awards for cabinet making in her first year, the second-place getter in her second year and the first-place getter in her third year. She had emigrated from Belgium only a few short years earlier.  Maritimo Production Manager, Kym Fleet, who works closely with Zoe said one of her key strengths is that nothing is too hard or difficult for her to tackle.  “We are all very proud of her.”  As for her future Zoe says she is keen to take on a leadership role at Maritimo and in the boating industry generally. She says she also wants to encourage more females into the industry.  “We have an impressive line-up of apprentices at Maritimo and the win by Zoe is really a recognition not only of her skills and work ethos, but also that of all our young people, “ said Candler.  “They are the future of our industry and I can honestly say we feel it could not be in better hands.”

Riviera Awarded Queensland Export Awards 2021

Australia’s luxury motor yacht builder Riviera has been honoured for outstanding international success in manufacturing at the Premier of Queensland Export Awards 2021, the state’s most prestigious industry awards.  Riviera was named winner of the Manufacturing and Advanced Materials Award category at a gala presentation in Brisbane this week.  The category recognises and acknowledges the growing popularity of Riviera motor yachts which are acclaimed globally for their innovative design, premium luxury, superior engineering and performance.  Riviera exports more than 60 per cent of the 120 motor yachts it builds each year from the company’s state-of-the-art Gold Coast facility. The motor yachts are designed and built by a specialist team of more than 850 master craftspeople on site at the largest facility of its kind in the southern hemisphere.  This latest government award exemplifies what has been a year of stellar achievements for Riviera, including the company’s largest shipment ever to the United States which is currently under way. The shipment, comprising seven luxury motor yachts valued at more than $20 million, will land in the US on October 20 with five of the motor yachts destined for the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show. Riviera will present its largest international showcase of 2021 at Fort Lauderdale with 10 yachts on display.  “On behalf of our exceptional team at Riviera, we are delighted to have been honoured in this year’s Queensland Exporter of the Year Awards,” said Riviera owner Rodney Longhurst.  “We are fiercely proud to be an Australian company, creating motor yachts that are today truly world-class in terms of their design, technology, performance and luxury finishes.  “2021 has been a year of challenges and achievement for Riviera and this award is recognition of the magnificent work by our team to create and deliver the outstanding Riviera motor yachts of today, the best we have ever built.”  Riviera has a 38-year history of exporting motor yachts to the world, starting with the first shipment to the United States in 1983 and followed by the first shipment to Europe a year later.  The company, which was founded in 1980, has built more than 5,750 motor yachts over the past 41 years with many of these motor yachts now cruising the Mediterranean, Pacific, Caribbean and the Great Lakes and coastal waters of North and South America.  The Riviera range spans 39 to 78 feet with 24 models from six distinctive Riviera model collections. This year, Riviera announced a new flagship of the fleet, the 78 Motor Yacht, the first of which is currently being built in preparation for her world premiere in early 2022.  Riviera was among 36 Queensland companies selected as a finalist from 160 entries received for this year’s Premier of Queensland Export Awards.  As a winner of one of 13 award categories, Riviera is now a finalist for the Australian Export and Investment Awards, held by Austrade on November 25.

Mr Gomez says Riviera aligns perfectly with this vision.  “Riviera is a company that is in constant evolution, continually refining and launching new models, all with a clear vision and objective to be the best in the world,” said Mr Gomez. “Our existing clients appreciate everything that Riviera has to offer and they are eagerly awaiting the arrival of our first new motor yacht into Panama.”  The AlphaBlue team is supported by Mr Gomez’s wealth of personal experience gained through a 37-year career with Procter & Gamble, most recently as Senior Regional Vice President of Latin America.  AlphaBlue Marine clients will be supported by a service team supervised by an AlphaBlue technical director. Further support will be provided by the group’s existing team and systems.  Panama, a country that straddles the Pacific and Atlantic oceans, offers some of the best leisure boating and fishing destinations in Central America, making it perfectly suited to Riviera’s expansive range of 24 models in six individual collections, from the 39 Open Flybridge to the new 78 Motor Yacht.  “From Panama, you are within easy reach of many beautiful boating destinations, including island resorts, where you can enjoy pleasure boating, fishing or simply entertaining aboard, and that’s where Riviera really excels,” said Mr Gomez.  “You can cruise to so many places and, with Costa Rica and other parts of Central America so close, more people are now starting to enjoy this kind of extended boating. Panama is increasingly becoming more like Puerto Rico, and we will see that evolve considerably in the coming years.”  The opening of the new AlphaBlue office has been set to meet the Panamanian summer season which lasts from November through to May. “We are opening at the best time for the Panama boating season,” said Mr Gomez.  AlphaBlue plans to host exclusive high-end events for Riviera owners throughout the year.  “We look forward to meeting current Riviera owners,” said Mr Gomez. “Events are very popular here, and after the lockdowns and restrictions we have been experiencing, there will be many people looking forward to getting out and boating.”  Riviera owner Rodney Longhurst welcomed Mr Gomez and the AlphaBlue team to Riviera’s global representative network.  “We look forward to working with AlphaBlue to bring the Riviera luxury motor yacht experience to Panama,” said Mr Longhurst.  “Gerald brings a passion to our network that aligns with our desire to provide superior service and support and create the ultimate boating experience for Riviera owners around the world.  “With more Riviera motor yachts now cruising the Americas, AlphaBlue will further strengthen the support for our current owners while welcoming new yacht owners to the Riviera family.”

Sirena New CEO

Çağın Genç, formerly Chief Operating Officer at Sirena Marine in Turkey has been promoted to the post of Chief Executive Officer. Ms Ä°pek Kıraç, the outgoing CEO who is also Chairwoman, becomes President of the company.  “Çağın joined the group in 2008 and brings huge experience to his new role,” says Ms Ä°pek Kıraç. “He was production manager, plant director and marine director before becoming COO in 2019, so he understands the Sirena brands inside out. I’m confident they can grow together to become a point of reference in the yachting market”  “Now Sirena Yachts has reached a stage where we want to be able to offer our clients more choice. ”says Çağın Genç. “They will be able to select between our Sirena Yachts line and a new Superyachts line. In fact, we will have three new semi-custom models between around 30 and 50 metres in length and below 500 GT that will retain the design DNA of our existing fleet, which we’re also looking to expand with two new models, one between the 68 and 88 and another entry-level offering. We’ve just completed our internal briefing for the superyacht range and the next stage will be to ask our favourite designers to come up with concept proposals. We are prepared to build the first hull on spec”, continues Çağın Genç. “The two biggest models will likely be in metal and the smallest in fibreglass, but this has yet to be finalised. Either way, we will be ready to present the Sirena superyacht range in Monaco next year!”  Based in Istanbul, Sirena Marine produces award-winning sailboats under the Azuree and Euphoria brands, and luxury motoryachts under the Sirena Yachts brand. Sirena Yachts recently delivered hulls #3 and #4 in its flagship 88-foot series and the Sirena 68, the latest addition to the fleet, made her international debut at the Cannes Yachting Festival 2021.  20 units of the all-new model have already been sold.

Viking at Second Annual Mongo Offshore Challenge

A combination of Vikings dominated the 2nd Annual Mongo Offshore Challenge with 1st Place finishes in the Blue Marlin, Swordfish, Tuna and Mahi divisions. It Just Takes Time weighed the heaviest blue marlin with a 793-pound fish cranked in by Nick Pratt on his Viking 72. The Viking 92 High Cotton took 3rd Place Blue with a 681-pounder. Fleur de Lis, a Viking 80, won the Swordfish category with Zac Taylor’s 271.9-pound sword during a three-day fun fishing trip focused on white marlin – which switched over to swords at night. The 3rd Place Swordfish was awarded to the Viking 64 Titan Up with their 254.1-pound target. A 231.1-pound yellowfin won the Viking 70 Quick Time 1st Place Tuna. C-Student, a Viking 66, claimed 1st Place Mahi with a 44.6-pound fish. The 132-boat fleet represented all five Gulf Coast states with more than 2,000 anglers. Teams competed as often as desired for five months with weights collected from 20 official weigh stations and approved big game tournaments throughout the Gulf. This event is challenging because the minimum size limits are set high. For example, a blue marlin must be a minimum of 118”, this makes the weighed fish huMONGOus.
