Not a Super Yacht Fire in Monaco

The classic 36 meters super yacht Lady Jersey under Portuguese flag was seen smoking in Port Hercules, Monaco on the morning of fourteen October.  Fire fighters with fire fighting vehicles along with Police forces rushed to the scene, and locked the road and car parking area part of the marina behind the yacht, although the two yachts of about thirty meters to both port and starboard near the smoking yacht were interestingly not moved.  The reason was that this was actually a fire drilling exercise, although many passers by and those who saw the video on Emman YouTube channel thought that this was actually a fire.

Project: Benetti B.Neos 40m

During the 2025 Cannes Yachting Festival Benetti presented the B.Neos project, a reportedly but not confirmed forty meter super yacht concept.  B.Neos embraces the proportions and silence of sailing yachts, favouring instead the pleasure of the essential and beauty of simplicity.  Coming from the Greek word néos, meaning new young and fresh the Benetti B.Neos is designed by Malcolm McKeon for exteriors who brings classic chic lines, with interiors by Francesca Muzio FM Architettura. Both the designers focused in offering a motor yacht with fluid lines and spaces, and an intelligent layout embracing classicality with a modern twist. B.Neos focuses on a new generation of owners, a philosophy for a smart yacht, technological, unconventional, that redefines the traditional codes of super yachts.  Instead of the relentless pursuit of volume, see no wide body main deck, with a smooth S-shear line B.Neos offers an intelligent distribution of space, designed for an owner who rejects the superfluous in favour of a more direct and functional experience, where technology makes it possible to enjoy silence thanks the standard hybrid propulsion.  So far it is not understood if a Benetti B.Neos is under construction, or this was an offered inbuild project, with technical details beside the designers name, and hybrid type propulsion being the only information provided.  Also it is not reported if the Benetti B.Neos is to be build of fiberglass, aluminium, or steel.

Sea Ray Cruiser and Two Boaters Saved in Fjallbacka, Sweden

Two boaters were rescued as an eight meter Sea Ray sport cruiser lost power and ended on the rocks near Fjallbacka, Sweden before 20:00 of Thursday ninth October.  After receiving an alarm from the Sea and Air Rescue Center the Swedish Sea Rescue Society goes to the assistance of the Sea Ray cruiser with the RS Fjällbacka vessel.  As they arrived to the Sea Ray cruiser the rescue vessel finds it hitting the hard reefs in a perilous situation.  The conditions are challenging, but the Fjallbacka lifeguards who were in the middle of an exercise before the call act calmly and manage to pull the Sea Ray cruiser out to safe deep water.  After this they control the damage, and although the hull has taken a beating, it is not taking water, as the Sea Ray sport cruiser is then towed to a safe harbour in challenging seas with high waves.
The Sea Ray in this accident is the 268 Sundancer as produced from 1986 to 1989.  The 268 Sundancer was a replacement to the SRV260 Sundancer, and was replaced by the second generation Sea Ray 250 Sundancer.
