Three Injured in Fairline Boat Explosion at Upton Marina

Three persons were grievously injured when a Fairline boat exploded in Upton Marina in Upton upon Severn, Worcestershire UK on 12:20 hours of Thursday 25 July.  A woman in her sixties of the three injured persons was also airlifted to a hospital nearby, with West Midlands Ambulance Service coming to the scene and treating various persons for skin burns.  The Fairline boat is reported to have had a fuel gas build up explosion, and then went ablaze. With the fire the Fairline boat untied itself from its berth and then ending on the pier in-front spread more damage to three other boats, with two of these being totaled.   Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service deployed more then thirty persons to tackle the blaze, and is working to minimize any water pollution and investigate the cause.
The boat in this explosion and fire is a Fairlne 31 Corniche, as designed by Bernard Olesinski and produced from 1985 to 90.  The other boats hit by the fire are a mid nineties Princess 360 and a  2002 Maxum 3100 SE both of which are totaled, while a Broom 41 also received fire damage to its bow.

Flybridge Yacht on Fire at Porto Nogaro

An unattended fifteen meter flybridge yacht had an onboard fire while berthed at Port Nogaro, Marina San Giorgio to the South of Udine on 13:00 of Thursday 25 July.  Guardia Costiera and Vigili dell Fuoco crew where immediately on the scene to control the fire, and thanks to the fire fighting systems of the marina quay this was controlled in less to thirty minutes, with no damage reported to nearby boats.  The flybridge yacht was reported to have sustained damage to its interior helm station, and in one of the guests cabins.  
The flybridge yacht in this fire is a Carnevali 155 as designed by Ceccarelli and produced from 2001 to 2005.  Announced as a 48 project, the first prototype will be completed for the Genoa October 2000 boat show, replacing the 50, and evolving with a larger aft deck, bathing platform as the 160 in 2005.

New Model: Riviera 545 SUV

Riviera present the new 545 SUV replacing the 525 SUV, and powered with twin Volvo 625hp and or optional 725hp.  Very similar on the outside and nearly identical on the outside and main deck configuration the new 545 difference will come inside in the lower deck with a full-beam master suite offering an exceptional amount of space and storage, king-sized walk-around bed, L-shaped lounge to starboard, bureau and large hanging wardrobe to port, plus a generous en-suite bathroom equipped with designer fittings. Being amidships, the suite enjoys optimum stability and quietness, while topside windows to both port and starboard afford unimpeded water views.  Guests or family members are pampered with an elegantly appointed forward VIP stateroom, and a starboard twin cabin with bunk berths, plus a day head with glass shower recess and stylish vanity.  The cockpit is well configured for fishing and water sports, along with outdoor entertaining. It offers fixed transom seating as well as a three person mezzanine lounge to port. A double barbecue unit resides to starboard on the mezzanine, adjacent to the saloon entry for easy access back-and-forth to the aft-placed galley and cocktail cabinet.  U-shaped and highly functional, the aft galley is a gourmet chef’s delight with a solid surface bench top, electric cook-top, convection microwave oven and an optional drawer dishwasher within handy reach of the stainless-steel sink.  The 545 SUV’s rear bulkhead opens to the cockpit via an awning window comprising tinted, tempered glass framed in polished stainless steel. Sliding windows on both sides of the saloon and two large overhead sunroofs ensure fresh air and natural light invigorate the space.  There’s an equally stunning view for the driver and passenger through the large windscreen. Riviera’s designers have placed the wheel almost on the center-line for superb vision, separating the helm’s twin pedestal seats to allow easy access.  Guests can also immerse themselves in the driving experience from the L-shaped lounge to port, just aft of the helm. It has a hi-lo dining table, while a three-seat lounge resides to starboard. The latter has a removable center seat that becomes an ottoman for additional dining seating. A fold-out table then extends the dinner party if needed. Engine technicians need never enter the yacht’s interior as engine room access is provided through a strut-assisted hatch just aft of the saloon door.

Eight People Saved from Sinking Motor Yacht Near Bridgehaven

Eight people where saved after a twenty meters motor yacht titled Silver Lining started sinking near Hood Canal, Bridgehaven, Squarnish Harbor area at about 15:30 hours of Tuesday 23 July 2019.  The motor yacht is reported to have hit a submerged object, with the crew and guests making a Coast Guard distress call and then getting off the yacht with its tender.  The yacht which remained partially sank had about one thousand liters of diesel fuel and forty liters of oil, reported a small oil spill.  TowboatUS and Global Diving and Salvage were hired to salvage the yacht, with an operation of towing to shallow water starting first at 19:30 hours of the same evening, with a refloating planned for the following day.
Silver Lining is a 1997 Pacific Mariner 65 Motor Yacht, the first hull and model of the Washington state yacht builder which was produced up to 2008 in 62 units.  Pacific Mariner will subsequently release it's second 85 model in 2004 produced till 2014 in 25 units.  Pacific Mariner was founded in 1996 by Jack Edson and John Seabeck selling it in 1999 to Westport, with the super yacht builder moving production to its own facilities in 2009, and stopping the brand in 2014.

Project: Dale 40 Aft Cockpit

So after the positive reviews of the recently launched Dale 40 Aft Cabin by TT Design, the British builder and design firm follow it with a project for the Aft Cockpit version.  Important changes between the two boats, from having one helm instead of two, and losing the spacious master aft cabin of the Aft Cabin version.  Still you do gain a very sweet and conservative line with the 40 Aft Cockpit version which does never look old, and for this you get a spacious just above sea level aft cockpit entertainment area.  The Dale 40 can be powered from twin 300 up to 600hp engines and reach top speeds up to 29 knots with the largest of engine options.

Super Yacht Collision in South East Italy

A 41 meter super yacht titled m/y Blue Magic collided and then sank a seven meter fiberglass build sailing boat during its marina manoeuvring in Santa Marina di Leuca on the afternoon of July 23.  Thankfully the incident left none injured, but passers by where outraged on the coldness of one of the crew who just dropped the mast on the sinking craft without checking if anyone was hurt.  Some news sources are also claimed the sailing boat was in the spot to be scrapped.  Blue Magic seems to have hit some technical difficulty in gear engagement and in the instance kept on pushing forward hitting and sinking the small sailing craft on its bow.
M/y Blue Magic is a 1998 build Heesen 4700 as designed by Mulder and semi-produced from 1998 to 2009 in eight units.  Blue Magic was last refitted in 2017.

Classic Chris Craft Collides In Marking Buoy at Grand Traverse Bay

A classic eleven meter Chris Craft boat had a collision to the West of Grand Traverse Bay, Michigan on the morning of Tuesday of 23 July.  The classic eleven meter Chris Craft boat which was operated by a 62 year old man from Missouri collided with red buoy marked two, striking and traveling over it.  Leelanau County Marine Division intervened for this boating collision accident, as the classic Chris Craft was able to make it safely to harbour, and was hoisted out of the water on its arrival.  The Chris Craft boat had damage to its forward starboard side and to its top side on the port side.  No injuries were reported from the collision.
The classic Chris Craft in this collision is a 381 Catalina as produced from 1980 to 1989.  The 381 Catalina was an extended 350 Catalina, with the model replaced by the more modern looking 372 Catalina.

Project: Rizzardi InSix

Rizzardi finally shows a few lines for the new INsix project a model which the Italian boat builder has been teasing and showing details of to special customers since the start of 2018.  Finally the Rizzardi InSix is a vision coming true perfectly combining exceptional performance and comfort as is usual from the South Rome yacht and super yacht builder.  The Rizzardi InSix is about speed and elegance,  dynamism and design which equals to a fifty knots top speed and over 120 customization options. The layout reflects that of an open yacht with a large open hard-top leading to a large glass door separating the below-deck spaces. Azimut Boat Fire in Bosphurus River Turkey

A thirteen meter Azimut flybridge cruiser went ablaze in the Bosphurus River, Istanbul, Turkey on the afternoon of Saturday twentieth July, 2019.  People onboard the flybridge cruiser where seen wearing there life jackets and jumping off-board as the fire expanded onboard, with these being collected by nearby boaters.  The flybridge cruiser was then seen being carried to the shore by the wind and sea current, before a fire-fighting boat turned to the scene and extinguished the fire.  No injuries were reported, with the cause of the fire not being reported.
The Azimut in this fire is a 43 as designed by Righini for exterior and interior by Galeazzi and produced from 2006 to 2009.  First released in 2005 as a 40, a stern modification and longer bathing platform will evolve it to the 43, with Azimut also producing a hard-top 43S variant on the same platform powered by Volvo IPS instead of the Cummins shaft drives.  The Azimut 43 came out as a replacement to the 39 and 42, and was replaced by the smaller 38.
