Gagliotta the Naples builder presents the new 35 Lobster model, a departure from its current four model line of sport cruisers and yachts from 32 up to 52 feet. Many new Italian builders have jumped on traditional boat designs, so Gagliotta being an old name associated in fast type cruisers is interesting to see how it performs with this new medium sized 35 Lobster model. For the project the Italian Neapolitan builder entrusted none the less then top design team Rolf & Vrolijk winners of of the 31st and 32Nd edition of the Americas Cup with Swiss team Alinghi. The 35 Lobster spaces are all about tradition, and it offers an outside under the hard top galley, and interior accommodation with a settee, vee shaped berth to fore and separate shower head. Power is from twin Volvo 260hp, which give top speeds of 33 knots and cruising at 28 knots.
Australian boat builder Maritimo presents the project of two further upcoming models to join its existing range of cruisers and yachts. The first of these pictured above is the A60 Aegean Enclosed, and this is a three, closed upper bridge version for the A60 Aegean Flybridge model presented in 2008. With the enclosed bridge the A60 Aegean Enclosed takes a whole new dimension and modifies all the interior plan versus the model on which it is based. The main deck presents a different more spacious saloon, now with twin spacious l-shaped settees, galley aft and an internal staircase leading to the third deck. Up in the third upper deck enclosed area one finds a central located helm station, and two settees to both sides. Below the standard layout is also different offering a 3 cabin, 3 head version with a mid ship located owners cabin. Power for the A60 Aegean Enclosed is twin C12 715hp Cats, of which Maritimo expects a similar 25 knots cruising speed as the standard Flybridge version.
Sarnico presents more detailed design rendering for its new upcoming flagship project announced as far as in 2005 and still being waited much by the critics and passionate boaters alike. The new Grande, Italian word meaning big, will be Sarnico biggest model at 80 feet of length, what is normally associated with pocket sized Super Yacht status. As all this respected builder range design is by the able renowned hands of Nuvolari Lenard. The Venice design duo now have been long collaborators to the North Italian builder since 1995 when the yard presented it still in production and successful 45 model. Hull shape also continues the collaboration with the renowned Brunellos Acampora Victory Design. As seen in the latest Sport Yachts of this size the Grande will also offer a Sport Bridge above the hardtop, offering a sun lounger as standard with the option of a second helm station in the Command Bridge version. The Grande seems also to abandon the much loved Sarnico aft cabin, a feature in all its models starting from the 45. Power will be by twin MAN engines at 1550hp or the optional 1800hp.
For those who think US custom Sportfish builders innovation is just in the cold mold building method just make a rethink of this. In fact North Carolina's Freedom Boatworks presents this very interesting 56 Sportfisherman project set to launch the coming Summer and already in advanced building stages. The 56 Sportfisherman will in fact be the first Custom Sportfish Yacht with flybridge to be equipped with triple Volvo pods latest generation second series IPS900 700hp each. The other novelty for this Sportfish Yacht will be its spacious interior offering a four cabin three head layout, and in all this giving the owner a full beam mid ship cabin, and a fore VIP cabin for his special guests. This is a very interesting new build, and as Freedom Boatworks put it here we have a 56 foot Sportfish yacht which gives 20 metres in space, and the efficiency of a 45 footer. Performance estimates are an impressive 40 knots plus of top speed with cruising in the mid thirties.
