New Model: Delta 48 Coupe

Swedish Delta Powerboats has been an interesting boat builder to watch, standing out from the crowd with a practical but yet innovative product offer.  Celebrating twenty years in business in 2023, Delta being founded in 2003, there is no better way to celebrate with a new model, and here comes this 48 Coupe.  This new 48 Coupe is probably the most complete of all the Delta's that came before her, not that they were missing something, but this one has something suiting more the masses in its appearance, interior layout, and fuel consumption.  The Delta 48 Coupe is a sport cruiser with a performance attitude and while her 42 knots top speed number is not super high with the standard twin 440hp Volvo diesel on stern drives, its stepped deep Vee hull with 22 degrees deadrise say another story, which also translates in efficiency and an impressive 500 nautical mile range. The surprises from the Delta 48 Coupe do not stop here, and once you are onboard it delivers again impressive creature comforts below, with a three double cabins layout, and a living dining galley area located on the main deck.

Project: Delta 48 Coupe

Ever since Delta Powerboats was introduced in Sweden in 2003, the name has been associated with efficient hydrodynamics, authentic craftsmanship and advanced technology integrations. The new Delta 48 Coupé is no exception, rather the ambition to capture the very essence of sleek, versatile and energy efficient sports cruiser made of carbon fibre the Swedish name has build its reputation on. As the latest result of the Lar Modin and Mannerfelt design partnership, the 48 benefits from the experience of previous projects and combines features from both the Open and Coupé series.  The Delta 48 Coupe will feature generous deck arrangements allowing guests to enjoy multiple exterior lounges and sun beds or seek shelter within an enclosed saloon with panoramic all around views. Sliding aft and side doors blur the boundaries between the inner and outer decks and due to the large electrical roof top the 48 easily adapts to changing weather. Below deck the interior accommodates six guests across three cabins where the owner occupies a forward master stateroom with generous storage and an en-suite bathroom.  Delta 48 Coupé features an all new twin stepped-bottom, designed to reduce friction, deliver speed and a consistent plane with less pitching. In the construction, only advanced carbon fibre composite materials are used, making the hull strong, stiff and impact resistant and keeps the weight of the vessel low, which further reduces engine load and  fuel consumption. The Delta 48 Couple is to be powered with either twin Volvo 440hp inboard sterndrives diesels, and or Mercury 600hp outboards petrol gas.  Estimated top speeds are up to 45 knots and a cruise of 32 giving only three litres per nautical mile from the twin Volvo diesels.

New Model: Delta 33 CE

The new Delta 33 Coupé is the third model designed by Ted Mannerfelt for the Swedish semi custom boat builder.  After thirty deliveries of Delta 33 Open around the world, it was now time for a more Scandinavian custom model, enters the new 33 CE.  This new Delta sport cruiser takes hull and decor directly from the 33 Open and adds two large cabins sleeping up to two adults and three children with the addition of a well sized toilet and separate shower cubicle.  Before coming to reality the Delta 33 CE went into loads of design sketches before the shapes of a brand new deck and superstructure and lounge went into production. In the lounge there is room for six persons, and a long-standing kitchenette. The aft deck offers a sofa with the possibility of turning into a sun bed. The Delta 33 Coupe is build with state-of-the-art vacuum technology using vinylester and Divinycell Diab Core infusion technology and carbon fiber reinforced bottom pockets.  The Delta 33 CE also presents itself with market-leading low fuel consumption generating estimated 1.8 liter per nautical mile at 30 knots cruise speed with a single Volvo 400hp engine.

New Model: Delta 60 Open

After fifteen units delivered of the Delta 54, the Swedish boat builder has now launched the open version with 60 Open, built entirely in carbon fiber and for this weighing only an impressive 13500 kg of dry weight. The large aft bathing platform extend length to over eighteen meters, but the feeling of the wheel is like driving a smaller sports boat.  Accommodation below deck is for a large owners cabin forward and two further guest cabins with single or double beds. Two large luxury bathrooms and optional washing machine compliment the lower deck accommodation.  The super structure changes the Delta 60 Open to a completely different sport yacht versus the 54 IPS it is based on, with its low and elegant line standing out, and the sofas and sunbeds for many offering day boat accommodation on the main deck.  The Delta 60 Open is open and sporty, but at the same time a stable sport yacht that runs smoothly and dry up to 38 knots max with the large engine option of twin Volvo 600hp engines couple to IPS pod drives. Range is another impressive number with the Delta 60 Open covering 500 nautical miles.  To put this into perspective good enough from Stockholm to Copenhagen, or from Monaco to Ibiza non stop.

Project: Delta 33 CE

After thirty units delivered of the Delta 33 Open, the Scandinavian builder and designer Ted Mannerfelt presents a new fully enclosed hard top version. For the 33 CE Delta took the hull and interior design directly from the Open version, and added new deck and superstructure, aiming for a more comfort and all weather experience.  The interior part of the new 33 CE main deck is good for up to six persons, and if the weather is good Delta has also come up with an electronic sunroof which opens for 80%.  Below is an accommodation layout sleeping four persons in aft and fore cabins berths with a shower head in between.  To be built with Diab Core infusion the 33 CE is powered by standard single Volvo 400hp or optional twin 220hp units.  The performance of both engines is the same, 40 knots max and 37 fast cruise with the twin units giving a safety feature then higher speeds.

New Model: Delta 26 m Yacht

Swedish motorboat brand Delta Powerboats puts into the water its most ambitious build to date, a 26 meter carbon fiber super yacht.  Interestingly it took the Swedish company Delta Powerboats just ten years to grow from a 25 footer to the new 26 meter flagship.  Delta has been working two years in producing from design to reality its 26 m Yacht flagship, which increases its size by about thirty feet from its previous largest model the 54 IPS.  Designer Lars Modin worked high on his creative side, and just as the exterior the Delta 26 m Yacht features an interesting and innovative internal layout.  Guest accommodation accounts to four large double cabins, with a very spacious full beam owners stateroom featuring a small dinette, walk-in wardrobe, and private en-suite head. The crew cabin located to midships sleeps two and also features a small dinette and galley.  Main tender stowage is in a garage to aft which is located on top of the engine room, but a space for two more small private water crafts also exists on the bathing platform and the flybridge. Delta advised that during the first sea trial from Estonia to Stockholm, Sweden the 26 m Yacht reached top speeds at 37 knots.  The Swedish company also says that the fuel consumption was around 40% less than to that of most competitor boats in this size.  An interesting argument which with the elements we have; less weight which compares to that of yachts about ten feet smaller, and a less engine power needed to reach such speeds sounds good.

Project: Delta 33 Open

Delta presents the second model in its Open series range unveiled in 2012 with the 26, the 33.  The 33 Open is again a design coming from Ted Mannerfelt, same designer for the 26, and this is his second design for Delta powerboats.  The Delta 33 Open is in real terms is a dayboat with good overnight accommodation for four people, and represents a challenge to other Italian builders who offer a similar concept in this size.  The lower deck offers accommodation for four plus a seperate shower head, while the outside is the convivial full beam area which makes of the nearly full use beam of the boat, thanks to the semi walk around up to midships design.  Outside is also located the galley to port side of the helm.  The helm to starboard offers also an interesting settee which can become various things from a settee for passenger underway all looking forward, to a social settee for two, or a dining area.  The Delta 33 Open is build in Diab core infusion technolgy which saves the weight to just about four tons.  Power comes from a single Volvo 400hp or twin 220 units both in stern drives propulsion.  Top speed estimates are 43 knots with both the engine choices.

New Model: Delta 26 Open

Designed by Ted Mannerfelt the Delta 26 Open is the entry level model of this Swedish builder fleet.  Mannerfelt and Delta present a hybrid of daycrusier and walkaround, without forgetting generous space for socializing, swimming and sunbathing. The combination of walk-around and elevated foredeck creates a comfortable forward cabin with big double bed and a separate head. The decor of the 26 Open is bright and has attention to details along the use of traditional materials such as teak and hand-polished stainless steel.  Smart details come in the form of the aft bench that easily turn into a sun pad, and a galley located into the driver's couch is an example of smart design details. Delta 26 Open is designed with the most modern vacuum technology with vinylester resin and Divinycell, Diab Core Infusion Technology and carbon fiber reinforced floors. Power is a single Volvo 220hp diesel, or 320 petrol gas choice.  In combination with the hull air lubrication cross step, this makes the26 Open offer low fuel consumption and a max speed of 38 knots with the 220hp Diesel engine choice.

Project: Delta 80 IPS

Again coming from Lars Modin's drawing board is Delta's largest project to date, the 80 IPS. The hull of the new boat measures 86 feet over all length, making it the largest boat ever to come into production from a Swedish manufacturer. Although the boat is almost ten meters longer than the next sibling the 54 IPS, she will be easily recognized as a natural sister of the Delta family. But there is some firsts for Delta; see axed bow, and a flybridge. A traditional four cabins lower deck, with full beam owners stateroom, VIP to fore, and two guest cabins in between is the standard layout of the accommodation plan.  A crew area with two rooms, a lobby, and small galley is located also below between the engine room and owners stateroom.  On the plans the saloon will be a single level deck of a very open layout with two L-shaped settee welcoming you aft,, galley, and a dining table for eight to port side. Two steps divide the interior helm station.  Suggested power is from triple Volvo 900hp with IPS1200 pod drives which give a forecast top speed of 38 knots and a cruise of 30. Twin engines of the same power and drives are available. Interesting is also the project weight of the Delta 80 IPS which is only forty tons, definitely among the lighter vessels in this size.  Launch is scheduled for spring 2013, so we will see if the Delta 80 IPS manage to make this low weight break through, and confirm its speed numbers.
