One Boater Saved as Sea Ray Cruiser Goes Ablaze in Tennessee River

One boater was saved as an eight meter Sea Ray sport cruiser went ablaze near the Chickamauga Marina Boat Ramp, in Chattanooga on the Tennessee River at 17:08 of Wednesday fourteen May.  Chattanooga Fire Department responded to the blaze with Fire Boat 6, and saved the boat from sinking.  The lone boater who was onboard the boat as it went ablaze jumped in the water, and was recovered by a nearby boat.  He was reported to have suffered no injuries.  The cause of the fire is under investigation.
The boat in this fire is a fourth generation Sea Ray 270 Sundancer as produced from 1998 to 2001.  The 270 Sundancer was a replacement to the third generation 270 Sundancer, and was replaced by the second generation Sea Ray 280 Sundancer.
