A sportfish cruiser of about ten meters in length was wrecked by fire as it was lying in the boat dock underneath the shelter at Whitehouse Cove Marine, Poquoson, Virginia at 17:33 of Sunday twelfth January. Two marine employees tried to extinguish the fire, before calling 911 and Poquoson Fire and Rescue units responding to the blaze, with Squad 1, Engine 2, Medic 1 and Medic 2 attending the scene. Ultimately the fire was extinguished, and did not damage further boats, also because of the fire intervention of the two marina employees who fought the blaze before Poquoson Fire and Rescue units arrived. No one was injured in the fire.
