New Model: Composite Yacht CY 55

Composite Yacht is an interesting boat builder, one of a few which you find in the USA and the World, building traditional looking craft but with the latest high end technology available to what regards its construction.  The new CY 55 is Composite Yacht largest model to date, and has an interesting story to tell, for a client order which came in 2022 with a love for traditional Chesapeake fishing boats, but wanted one that provided enough speed and capability to run from his home well inside the Chesapeake Bay to the Norfolk Canyon to fish.  Knowing the lofty speed requirements, Composite Yacht assembled a remarkable design team which included well known naval architect Lou Codega, not only to provide a well designed yacht, but also shared the Maryland builder sense of aesthetic appeal.  After nearly a year of research and development, Composite Yacht came out with the new CY55.  Custom made from design to production the CY 55 also features wake adaptive struts and rudders, custom propellers, and a structure made from Carbon and Kevlar set in heat activated Urethane Acrylate resin. Interestingly enough, the use of Carbon and Kevlar has less to do with actual overall weight savings, and more to do with ensuring the traditional yacht can handle the loads and stresses associated with doing fifty plus knots.  Want more super numbers the first Composite Yacht CY 55 was ordered with twin MTU 1940hp, which give a top speed of 55 knots, with a comfortable cruise at forty knots.  Are these numbers to high, do not worry as Composite Yacht offers the CY 55 with twin 1000hp for speeds up to forty knots, which is the currently in construction second hull.
