A sport cruiser of eight meters in length with one person onboard went ablaze near the Dogana area of Taranto harbour, on the late morning of Tuesday 31 May 2022. The Vigili dell Fuoco fire fighters of Taranto and the emergency 118 squad responded to the fire. The 118 squad took the boater to the hospital, while the fire fighters tended to the boat fire. The boater was reported to have suffered fire injuries to 40% of his body. The cause of the fire is not reported with the sport cruiser ending wrecked by the blaze.
The sport cruiser in this fire is a Mano Marine 28.50 as produced in the mid noughties till 2012. Mano Marine was founded in 1990 by brothers Genaro and Rosario Collela and closed its doors to bankruptcy in 2013.
