Six boats, three of which ended wrecked and destroyed where involved in a fire at Crandon Park Marina, Key Biscayne, Florida, just before 08:00 of the morning of Thursday seventh May. Miami-Dade Fire Rescue responded to the flames from the dock and with a fire boat, which ultimately led to three boats destroyed and three sustaining fire burn damage. According to initial investigations the fire spread due to a small tender boat which also caught fire and spread it to other boats in the pier. No one was injured in the fire with the cause of this being under investigation.
One of the boats destroyed in this marina fire is a Viking 44 Motor Yacht as produced between 1982 and 1990.
