Engine: FPT C16 1000hp

FPT Industrial unveils its new C16 1000 marine engine, presented during the 2018 Cannes boat show.  Though the new Cursor 16 has just been unveiled, the engine is already a Guinness World Record holder. Last March, a special version of the Cursor 16 installed on the powerboat achieved the fastest speed on water using a diesel engine, reaching a speed of 277.5 Km/h. This record follows the Cursor 16's previous title of "Diesel of the Year" from 2014.  This new C16 1000 is developed for light commercial and pleasure applications, and distinguishes itself for providing top performance with the compactness and the lightness of a 13-liter engine but with the durability of a 16 liters. This C16 1000 is, in fact, the only 16-liter engine on the market to fit in the packaging of a 13-liter engine. The perks regard both the aesthetic and technical aspects of the engine, which has a 6-cylinder in-line architecture and features the latest generation Common Rail injection system which goes up to 2,200 bar. Its power can reach 1000hp at 2300 rpm, placing itself among the best-in-class performance of the category.  The new C16 1000 has the best durability,  25% more than the competitors on average, while the power 63 hp/lt and torque 220 Nm/lt density are among the best of light commercial segment. These great characteristics couple with a maximum lightness and a best-in-class power to weight ratio of 0,59hp/kg, thus delivering at the same time top performance and best durability. The customer will have an increased cruising and a max speed together with the best transient response for planing.  In order to maximize reliability and resistance to salt and water, the C16 1000 has been designed with specific air, water, oil and fuel circuits. The marinization set includes: heavy duty, high flow sea water pump, a new heat exchanger for improved heat rejection, anodyzed air-intake pipes, a new air filter in epoxy-based material more resistant to salt and humidity, and twisted wiring for maximum resistance to dirt, water and sludge.  The C16 1000 has the compactness of a 13-liter engine, which not only means it is among the best-in-class of its category but that the final customer will have an easier installation and wider space on board as well. Furthermore, the engine has a best-in-class maintenance period of up to 600 hours, which translates into easier and cheaper maintenance operations.  Inside, the C16 1000 features increased fatigue strength new material components;  cylinder block, cylinder head made in Compacted Graphite Iron - CGI, crankshaft and bearings, con-rods, steel pistons, rings, increased flows for oil and water circuits with a professional bronze body and impeller sea water pump, and the last generation of Common Rail with multi-point fuel injection. The turbocharging system is distinguished by a simple and efficient technology with 2 single stage water cooled WG Turbo while the clean and functional lay-out is focused on engine easy serviceability and maintenance, thus granting premium performance, reliability and durability. Finally, regarding the environmental performance, the C16 1000 respects the most stringent regulations along with all the other FPT Industrial engines. Its impact on the environment is reduced for gas emissions, noise, and vibrations, providing not just positive general effects, but also higher comfort of navigation. To achieve these benefits in terms of sustainability, C16 1000 also offers a blow-by system for the best recovery of oil vapors and new green filters for better treatment of engine oils.

Engine: FPT N67 Evo 570hp

The new FPT N67 Evo 570hp is the latest product within the renowned NEF family and ensures top performance, low fuel consumption and reduced environmental impact. These advancements are due to FPT Industrial innovation, bringing together second generation Electronic Common Rail and Wastegate water-cooled turbocharging. Furthermore, it has 4 valves per cylinder, a ladder frame cylinder block and a rear gear train timing system. One of the great perks of this new engine is its lightness: it has the best power to weight ratio in its category, ensuring best boat performance for fast planing and top speed, with best-in-class power density and top torque density among competitors. Moreover, the innovative design and compact lay-out ensures easier installation with simpler engine servicing, assuring greater space available on board. As for the environment, the N67 Evo, with second generation Electronic Common Rail, guarantees greater efficiency, while reducing emissions, and is compliant with US-EPA Tier 3 and EU European Recreational Directive, the two current and most stringent certifications for marine pleasure engines. Engine: FPT N67 570hp

As well as attaining compliance with future EPA Tier 3 exhaust emission regulations FPT Industrial has also completely revised the most representative of its marine models. The new N67 570 features a 6 cylinder in-line architecture with a 6,7 litre displacement, 4 valves per cylinder, second generation electronically controlled Common Rail fuel injection system and a turbocharger with waste-gate and intercooler. Compared to the previous version, apart from a 10 HP power increase, the engine above all offers a new lay-out and the optimization of the lubrication, cooling, air-feeding and exhaust systems. The cylinder block, reinforced by its "ladder frame" structure, remains the same, having exhaustively demonstrated its reliability even under the high mechanical stresses of endurance racing. As its key technical figures illustrate; weight/power ratio 1.14 Kg/HP, power/displacement ratio 85 HP/litre and volume/power ratio 1.31 dm3/HP, the new engine not only maintains the leadership in its class but actually increases the gap between itself and its rivals. The N67 570 incorporates numerous significant changes and optimised solutions amply tested in successful speed and endurance racing, a highly effective test bed to explore the true limits of power and reliability of an engine.  Furthermore, FPT Industrial's great experience in the production of the NEF Series engines is testified by the numbers; last July the Turin Engine plant has indeed produced the one millionth NEF engine, being in production since 2000.

Engine: FPT N67 500hp

FPT presents the N67 500hp engine, which will also be available as a package with the ZF 2800 pod drive. The N67 series of 6.7 liters six cylinders engine is available in other five formats starting from 150, 220, 280, 450, and 560hp engines.   In this package the new FPT engine gives impressive results of efficiency and speeds.  The new N67 500hp engine with the innovative propulsion system introduced by ZF allows the Nef Series, with six cylinders and electronic Common Rail, to extend its applicative range by entering the established Pod Drive sector. The package, which will be available starting from next January, allows reaching performances at the top of its category; the comparison with the top competitor engines equipped with Pod Drive, in fact shows that the N67 500 PD has: the best power/weight ratio 0.55 hp/kilogram, the highest specific nominal torque 175 Nm/litre, maximum torque 228 Nm/litre, power/volume ratio 0.77 hp/cubic decimetre, and the lowest specific consumption in its category 216 grams/kilowatt hour.

Engine: FPT C90 650hp

As every year FPT, Fiat Powertrain Technologies presents a new edition to its range of marine engines at the world’s most important nautical event. The new C90 650 engine is according to FPT the best in its class, thanks to its outstanding power output, extremely quiet running and excellent reliability and efficiency, all packed in extremely compact measurements, a combination that makes it the ideal choice for leisure boats up to sixteen metres long. Confirming the technological excellence and innovation that distinguish all FPT marine engines, the new engine features the latest advances in engineering technology that are available on the market. This new straight-6 cylinder, 8.7 litre engine has 4-valve-per-cylinder timing and a sophisticated fuel supply system with a second generation Common Rail with electronic control incorporated into the cylinder head cover, which has unquestioned advantages in terms of safety and noise abatement. Turbocharging is provided by a water-cooled fixed geometry turbo blower with a waste-gate valve and after-cooling. These features enable the new C90 650 to deliver a maximum power output of 650hp at 2530 rpm, and engine torque of 2,152 Nm at 1,700 rpm. The excellent specific power output of 74.71 Hp/litre is the highest in its class and further proof of the outstanding efficiency of the C90 650. The cutting edge technology that went into the design and development of the new C90 650 has made it possible to combine sporty performance and low specific consumption of 228.5 g/kWh. Thanks to modern injection systems and electronic management, the engine has a minimal environmental impact and respects the most restrictive international standards, including Imo Marpol, Epa Recreational and 2003/44/EC. The characteristic measurements of the C90 650 make it another winner, even where ease of installation is concerned; this is underlined by the excellent weight-power, and volume-power ratios, which are respectively just 1.45 kg/Hp and 1.48 dm3/Hp, setting new benchmarks for its class. The overall weight of the new C90 650 is just 940kg. The C90 650 engine will be available on the market from early 2011.

Engine: FPT C90 620hp

FPT introduced the new C90 engine, in 620hp at the 49th Genoa International Boat Show. This product, which is at the top end of the market in terms of specific power, reduced consumption and emissions, will demonstrate, once again, how Fiat Power train technology is at the cutting edge. The C90 620hp benefits from the recent progress made in the automotive sector and the development of heavy transportation engines. The C90 620hp will have a new 8.7 litre engine featuring the most up to date technology, such as E.C.R. (Electronic Common Rail), which improves efficiency and reduces the impact on the environment, and integrated fuel system under the tappet cover in order to allow all the high pressure ducts to be kept inside the engine with improvements in terms of safety. The C90 follows FPT features of excellent performance, compactness, lightness, reduced consumption, low running and maintenance costs and low gas emissions and noise pollution. These features make it one of the best on the market in both the pleasure sector, with the 13 and 16 metre motorboats and yachts and in the commercial sector for heavy duty craft applications. The C90 is also an amalgam of modern technology with its six in line cylinders and mono bloc reinforced by a ladder frame allow installation even on sports boats that are exposed to extreme stress conditions produced by speed and waves. The steel crankshaft has integrated fracture split type, steel connecting rods and counter-weights. The aluminium pistons, the high turbulence combustion chamber and the four valves per cylinder contribute to improving combustion and maximising thermal and mechanical efficiency. The timing system with overhead camshafts is governed by a control located in the rear part of the mono bloc with a drastic reduction in noise in the boat cockpit. The E.C.R. injection system, with high operating pressures and the electronic control of the injection, guarantees perfect timing and precise fuel metering, with a considerable reduction in consumption and emissions. The E.C.U. Engine Control Unit is the electronic nerve centre of the engine, carrying out essential functions such as the excellent control of the fuel injection in all operating conditions, the protection of the engine against over-revving and overheating, stopping the emission of fumes, the fault diagnosis of the electronic and mechanical components, the recording of any faults and the management of the safety programme to return to port at low speed in the case of a malfunction. New production processes, with robotised assembly techniques and the numerical control of the matching tolerances, has resulted in a reduction in vibrations and lubricant consumption. The latter advantage means that the intervals for checking and changing the oil are longer compared with other Fiat Power Train engines and this results in a considerable reduction in maintenance costs and time saving. Designed to satisfy specific requirements of high performance with a low impact on the environment, noise pollution and gas emissions, the C90 620hp satisfy all the main international regulations for the sector.

Engine: FPT N67 560hp

The new Fiat Powertrain Technologies N67 560 is the outcome of intensive testing carried out in the field during two among the longest and most prestigious powerboat races, the Round Britain Race and Cowes Torquay, held in 2008. With its performance, reliability, robustness, reduced size and low weight this engine is not only a winning product in racing applications, but also a very interesting one for yachting. With a power of 560hp (412kW) at 3000 rpm, an excellent weight to power ratio equal to 0,86 CV/kg and common rail electronic injection, N67 560 is at the top of its category. It guarantees high performance and low fuel consumption in compliance with legislative regulations on the reduction of gas and acoustic emissions.
