Benetti Super Yacht Burned and Capsized at Miami

A Benetti 36 meter feet super yacht has caught fire and later on capsized at Island Gardens Marina in Miami at around 1930 hours time on Wednesday 18th December.  The Benetti titled Andiamo is believed to be owned by singer Marc Anthony, who is reported to have not been on-board at the time of the fire.  Two crew members have been reported to have been on-board Andiamo but have been evacuated without any injury.  Thanks to the operation of the Miami fire fighting squad which involved over forty fire fighters the neighbouring yachts have not been damaged.  Unfortunately Andiamo has also capsized during the fire and has been declared a total loss.
Andiamo was a Benetti Classic 120, build in 2006 and designed by Stefano Righini with interior by Francois Zuretti, in fiberglass with the owner having semi-custom options for the interior. Powered by twin MTU 1500hp her displacement hull reached top speeds up to seventeen knots, and a cruise of ten knots for a range up to 3300 nautical miles. The Benetti Classic 120 accommodation layout is divided over three decks, sleeping ten guests in five cabins including an owners cabin on the main deck, and seven crew in four cabins.  The Benetti 120 Classic was produced from 2006 till 2010 in twenty units, with the model being an evolution and replacement of the 115 Classic launched in 1998 and replaced by the 121 Classic in 2011.
