Feadship Super Yacht Collides With Bridge in Sint Maarteen

Feadship 86 meter super yacht Ecstasea collided with the bridge of Simpson Bay Lagoon, in Sint Maarteen on December 15 at around 1500 hours local time.  The Feadship 85 meter super yacht had one of its forward bow observation docks opened which hit and dismantled the bridge control station.  According to initial reports the accident came through a combination of currents and winds which made the super yacht veer right.  Fortunately no one was injured in the accident, and the 86 meter Feadship suffered mostly cosmetic damage to its starboard bow area.
Feadship 86 meter Ecstasea hull number 790 was delivered in 2004 and features many milestones of speed and size for the famous Dutch builder and the super yacht industry as a whole.  Designed by De Voogt with interiors by Terence Disdale, Feadship Ecstasea reaches an incredible top speed of thirty knots, thanks to a quadruple MTU 3111hp and LM 30843hp turbine propulsion combination.  Accommodation in the Feadship 86 meter is for twelve guests in seven cabins, with crew quarters accommodating 24 persons.
