New Model: Riva 112 Dolcevita Super

The name is a promise of superior well-being and comfort, combined with a deep sense of connection with the sea, here comes the new Riva 112’ Dolcevita Super, a flybridge super yacht that offers a new concept of life on board. An evolution of the Riva 110’ Dolcevita, one of the most highly acclaimed yachts in recent years, the 112’ Dolcevita Super is produced in La Spezia's Riva shipyard, where models from 21 to forty meters are produced. Like all Riva creations in the past thirty years, the 112 Dolcevita Super is designed by Mauro Micheli and Sergio Beretta of Officina Italiana Design. the studio that designs all Riva boats on an exclusive basis working in partnership with the Strategic Product Committee led by Piero Ferrari and the Ferretti Group Engineering Department. With a length over 34 meters, and a beam super to seven meters, the new 112’ Dolcevita Super has the sleek and assertive profile featured on all the latest the Riva flybridge yachts.  Redesigned spaces and increased dimensions: the numerous innovative solutions introduced on board are designed to provide guests with maximum functionality, extraordinary liveability and an increasingly emotional connection with the sea. The main strengths of the 112 Dolcevita Super in line with growing demand from owners, are the expansive outdoor spaces, where the concept of connection with the water finds its ultimate expression. The beach club in the stern, where an ultra-low 35-square-metre platform offers direct and easy access to the water, enhanced by two large bulwarks that swing out to form side terraces, increasing the size of the beach-club area. The central section of the beach club contains an extra-large sofa for lounging in the sun, with a ventilated storage space created behind it for the safe storage of two Seabobs, while the large garage under the sun pad can house a tender and a jet ski. The spacious 24-square-metre cockpit can be personalised across the board according to the owner’s tastes. Designed as a relaxation area overlooking the sea, it features two large sofas and is rounded out with freestanding furniture and a built-in unit. In the bow, as well as a large C-shaped sofa and an oversize sun pad, the owner can choose between another sofa or a Jacuzzi. The flybridge furnishings have been completely redesigned to maximise comfort: in the stern, the generous living area is decorated in a welcoming and versatile style with freestanding furniture, while in the central area a cocktail bar with stools and a TV with a hi-lo system face a large sofa with a low table. The interior spaces have also been optimised in a radical restyling. On the main deck, the lounge can be configured with two different layouts: the first, chosen for hull one, has the dining area aft and the lounge midships, while the second layout is more traditional, with the lounge area and generous sofas in the entry area and the dining area in the centre, a design solution that Riva 112’ Dolcevita Super shares with her three meter smaller sister 102 Corsaro Super. The master suite has been made even more special by original details, including a new wardrobe in the entry area and larger windows that let light flood in and offer a magnificent panoramic view. The dominant wood used in the interiors is high gloss rosewood, paired with decorative elements in the black hammered leather featured in the main lounge and master cabin detailing. There was a special focus during the design process on guests’ acoustic comfort. On the lower deck, for example, the bulkhead separating the crew area from the guest area; where the four VIP cabins with en suite bathrooms are located has been reinforced, and the flooring has been completely redesigned to further reduce vibrations and slamming. The standard version of the new Riva 112’ Dolcevita Super is fitted with two MTU  2638hp giving a top speed up to 25 knots and a cruise of 23 knots.  The same MTU can be optioned for with an SCR system for nitrogen oxide NOx reduction. Three dashboard configurations are available: standard with four Hatteland 19-inch monitors; premium with four 26-inch monitors, or twin 49-inch Boening monitors. Riva 112’ Dolcevita Super is equipped with two zero speed and underway stabilizer fins and Humphree interceptors.

Project: BB Yachts 66 Custom

Debuting in 2024 with the 44 Ischia and 44 Panarea models, BB Yachts shows it wants to grow and presents projects for smaller and larger models.  Here we are presenting the project for the 66 Custom, which brings bow rider-dual console features on a super sport yacht measuring over 21 meters in over-all length.  Thanks to this the BB Yachts will bring a main deck which connects outside with the hard-top covered inside, for an endless space of 21 meters.  The lower deck is reserved to the three cabins; which will offer a full beam midships located master stateroom.  A crew cabin for one person is located forward, while to aft will be twin garages for a jet-rib and jet-ski.  Other options for the BB Yachts 66 Custom will be for a sport bridge up top; this offering a central helm station with forward sun-pad.  The BB Yachts 66 Custom is to be powered by twin MAN 1200hp as standard, with options coming for twin 1300hp, and or 800hp with hybrid set-up.  In all cases the propulsion will be traditional line shaft, as offered on the well received 44 models.

New Model: Ad Astra 60

Announced in 2024, Ad Astra has in 2025 debuted its first 60 model, a modern looking down East inspired traditional yacht as designed by Francesco Guida.  The Ad Astra 60 comes packed with modern features and amenities; aft sun-pad with underneath garage, fully enclosed with patio door hard-top, and up-down tender lift bathing platform.  The Ad Astra 60 features a three double cabins layout; with a traditional forward owners stateroom two guest cabins at midships cabin layout.  The living all on the main deck has a C-shaped saloon to port side, and a counter-top galley to starboard behind the helm station.  A two cabins, galley on the lower deck optional layout is also available.  The Ad Astra 60 is powered by twin MAN 800hp for top speeds up to 32 knots.

Project: Tasman Boats 11.6

Following the success of the Tasman 8.0, the down under boat builder founded by Jason Hutchins and Paul Bury follows it with a larger eleven meter project.  Very similar to its smaller eight meter 8.0 sister, the Tasman Boats 11.6 brings also similar amenities, a sportfishing boat with a work-boat look, but optionable to be a cruiser.  The Tasman 11.6 will offer four plus two berths accommodation; double berth forward, bunk cabin to starboard, and a convertible dinette on the main deck.  A main deck galley located behind the helm station to starboard, and a shower head completes the accommodations.  Outside the Tasman 11.6 offers a free aft deck, with options improving cruiser amenities being an aft bathing platform aft, and the choice for a coupe opening hard-top or flybridge also available.  In case of the flybridge this will offer a central helm station, passenger settee to port, and a mini shaped J-shaped lounger to starboard.  The Tasman Boats 11.6 can be powered by twin or single engines from Cummins, Yanmar, and or Volvo all with direct line shaft propulsion.

New Model: Galeon 430 Exp

Having become an innovative force Galeon pushes its innovation powers with the voluminous 430 Exp, the first model debuting the Polish builders new Explorer range.  Tug boat looking, this new 430 Exp, bring asymmetry and expand Galeon features to unseen dimensions as the bulkheads transforming to balconies measure over half to the boats length.  The asymmetric profile being wide body to port side, brings also a unique perspective transforming the saloon sofa to an outward looking settee once the bulk-head is dropped and becoming a terrace just above the water.  The 430 also features a rotated aft deck settee, with the other drop down balcony at starboard serving the galley, and a cosy fore deck forward looking settee.  Besides this feature we forget to notice that 430 Exp is a voluminous for its size, offering a beam of four and half meters, which becomes over six meters with both balconies open.  Saying this it is easy to understand that the volume of the flybridge is huge in both beam and length, also because the main deck structure and flybridge is moved more forward compared to similar sized cruiser, although it is not extended aft as usual.  Inside the main deck offers a large aft galley to starboard saloon to port side, further forward are opposite settee which transform to a mini dinette to port, and helm station to starboard.  This area apart being served by the full closed or open patio door aft, is also served by the two side doors, one by the settees/mini-dinette and the other by the helm station and both leading to the fore-deck.  Below is a forward master room, guest cabin with double berth to port side, a shower head to starboard, and an utility room which can be optioned as a second head.  The first Galeon 430 Exp is powered by twin Volvo 480hp with line shaft propulsion, with other choices being a single Volvo 480 or 550hp also in line shaft.  Top speed is twenty knots with the twin 480hp engines, Galeon estimating fourteen knots from the single 480 engine.

Austin Parker New Web Site

Austin Parker from Italy presents its new World wide web virtual showroom. Austin Parker was founded in 1998, starting it's focus and among the first in Italy and Europe to build traditional down East lobster inspired looking cruisers as designed by Aldo Gatti, debuting with the Lobster 25 which was followed on that same year by the Lobster 42. The lobster boat looking classic cruisers were a success for Austin Parker presenting five models in its first four years, but in 2005 it enters financial difficulty and closes its doors.  In 2008 Austin Parker gets purchased by a group of Italian businessman led by Michele Parini, and all with long standing experience and interest in the pleasure boating sector.  This new ownership takes Austin Parker to a new strategy focusing on a cross over for a traditional down East lobster boat to that of the Italian Mediterranean cruiser as designed by Fulvio De Simoni, who will debut with the 42 model in 2009, and design all subsequent models up till today.  In 2012 Austin Parker will buy Abati Yachts, the company which bought the original Austin Parker premises in Rosignano Marittimo back in 2005, presenting one new eighteen meter model in 2014 with the intent to restart the rest of the production, although this is stopped the following year.  In 2018 Sebastiano 'Gianni' Gravagno who guided Austin Parker's launch in 1998 and was sales director since 2008 takes over the company, and starts the third phase as he presents the Ibiza sport cruiser walk-around range along the modern down East inspired cruisers and yachts, which in this time become more modern and less lobster-boat.  In 2023 Austin Parker is sold to Turkish investor Boris Nalcaci, with Gravagno remaining as CEO.  With the Nalcaci ownership Austin Parker starts a plan to enter the power catamaran segment, and presents the Unica range as designed by Fulvio de Simoni and Pininfarina, debuting the Unica 58 in the fall of 2024.  Austin Parker has to date produced twenty models, with the debuting Lobster 25 produced from 1998 till 2003 still being its smallest produced boat, while it's largest build to date has been the only one made Ibiza 85 sport yacht which was launched in 2022.  Today Austin Parker offers five models from 52 to 100 foot divided into three ranges; AP, Unica, and Iconica, which start with the AP52 and go up to the still in project Iconica 100.  Austin Parker new website takes you around with the following buttons: Home, The Collection, and Yard.

Project: Sanlorenzo 58Steel

Five years after redefining the language of steel yachts, Sanlorenzo writes the next chapter in its story of evolution with the debut of the 58Steel, a refined and extended successor to the acclaimed 57Steel. New Model: Marlow Voyager 90V

Marlow present the third act of its Voyager range, as it debuted the Voyager 90V in 2024. A blue water pocket super yacht, the Voyager 90V comes similar looking to the Marlow 100V flagship which arrived in 2019.  Marlow's Voyager debuted in 2010 with the 76 model, as a more modern line to its always standing Explorer line.  The 90V has optional features like the sky bridge, to the choice for a galley dining area forward of the main deck or a master stateroom.  Both these options; sky bridge and owners stateroom forward of the main deck were chosen in hull one.  Cabin layout is offered in four cabins layout, or five cabins if you  choose for an owners stateroom forward of the main deck.  A crew cabin sleeping two with lobby is offered aft.  The first Marlow Voyager 90 was powered by twin Cats 2000hp for speeds up to 25 knots, and a fast cruise of twenty knots, with a long range cruise of eleven knots giving like 3000 nautical miles range. If you want more speed Marlow can also power the Voyager 90 with twin Cats 2400hp for estimated speeds up to thirty knots.

Canados Yacht Goes Ablaze in Chiavari Marina near Genoa

A 22 meter Canados flybridge yacht titled Gollum went ablaze as it was moored at the yacht marina in Chiavari, on the East side of the Ligurian coast just after 07:00 morning time of Thursday eleven December.  Chiavari Vigili del Fuoco fire fighters tended to the fire, attacking it with liquid foam, for an operation which was successful as the fire was extinguished after two hours and the yacht saved from going ablaze.  The fire was reported to have originated in the aft lazarette part of the engine room of the yacht.  No injuries were reported.
The yacht in this fire is a 2006 Canados 72 as designed by Marine Technology Services and produced from 2005 up to 2009.  The 72 was a replacement to the 23, with the model replaced by the Canados 76.

Propulsion: ZF POD 4900

ZF is extending its pod propulsion range with the new POD 4900. Designed for larger commercial and recreational vessels measuring up to 150 feet, the system is compatible with engines up to 2000hp at 2,450 RPM. Through close cooperation among the three companies, ZF’s POD 4900 first launched on the Azimut Grande 30M superyacht as part of a highly integrated power pack by Rolls-Royce Power Systems. When ZF unveiled its first pod propulsion system, the POD 4600, at the Cannes Yachting Festival in 2022, the company made quite a splash. Since market launch, ZF has delivered more than thirty systems to shipyards worldwide. With the POD 4900, ZF builds upon its experience as a technology leader, extending the power range upwards to provide the perfect solution for larger vessels measuring 24 to 45 meters. The POD 4900 is compatible with engines up to 2000hp at 2,450 RPM, a maximum of 6,107 Nm of input torque, and a typical speed range of 20 to 35 knots. The POD 4900’s first application will be onboard the Azimut Grande 30M superyacht. ZF worked closely with both the Italian shipbuilder and Rolls-Royce Power Systems, who designed highly integrated power packs including the ZF propulsion system. All in all, two units will deliver 1,920 HP each. Depending on vessel type and size, the POD 4900 system can be installed in a twin, triple, or quadruple layout. Its large gear reduction ratio allows for larger counter-rotating propellers. This helps to massively increase its efficiency by up to twenty percent in comparison to shaft-line propulsion systems in the same power range. The improved efficiency also means reduced engine dimensions, resulting in more onboard spaces for accommodation. Thanks to its broad steering angle and its integration with ZF’s TotalCommand and Joystick steering solutions, the POD 4900 enables unique ease of operation and smooth manoeuvring. Like its smaller sibling, the POD 4900 features an optimized hydrodynamic design with corrosion-resistant housing from nickel aluminium bronze and stainless steel. Likewise, its elastic connection to the hull considerably reduces vibrations and noise, leading to more comfort onboard. ZF has not only continued to develop its pod propulsion system over the last three years but also achieved all main approval certifications from maritime authorities worldwide. The POD 4900 is certified for up to 3,000 hours of operations per year. In addition to large pleasure and leisure craft, the propulsion system is therefore rated for medium commercial applications, like windfarm or crew transfer vessels and ferries.
