Classic Bertram Catches Fire in Biscayne Bay

A classic Bertram sixteen meter sportfish yacht with three people onboard went ablaze near the Coral Gables Waterway in Biscayne Bay, Miami on the afternoon of Saturday March eighteen.  Coral Gables Police Department spotted the smoke first and assisted the three people onboard, while Miami-Dade Fire Rescue and Miami Fire Rescue went to the scene to put out the flames.  According to reports no one was grievously injured, and the causes of the fire are unknown.  The condition of the Bertram yacht after the fire is unknown, though in the videos online the fire looks extensive, and most probably is a wreck.

The Bertram in this fire is the Dave Napier designed 54 as produced from 1981 till 2001 in 170 units.  A modern classic since launch the Bertram 54 had in those twenty years three versions, the first version up to 1985 is recognizable by the central pillar in the side windows, from 1997 it had a soft exterior refresh and interior by Faggoni from Italy.  The Bertram 54 was replaced by the 570 with a new design outside and inside by Zuccon.

The creation is a harmonious interior with a soft-contrast ambiance, free from excessive décor elements and meticulously planned according to effect and functionality.  Kando110 is powered by twin Volvo commercial rated 650hp engines.  Ava Yachts Kando110 has so far sold in two units with a third hull currently under construction.

Project: Riva 54 Metri

Riva announces the sale of the first 54 Metri, an new all-aluminium Superyacht under construction at the Ferretti Group Superyacht Division in Ancona. This will be the largest Riva ever built, an incredibly beautiful superyacht surpassing the 50 Metri delivered in two units in 2019 and 2021 respectively. The Riva 54 Metri is a new benchmark for the world’s most prestigious boating brand with the yard feeling extremely proud to announce the contract signing for the first unit. Work on the 54 Metri is currently underway at the Riva Superyachts Division in Ancona, the state-of-the-art shipyard occupying almost 80,000 square meters where all yachts from 50 to 90 meters are built. Ancona is also home to the Ferretti Group Superyacht Yard, where ten steel and aluminium superyachts are currently being built for the Pershing, CRN and Custom Line brands.

New Model: Holterman X-treme 78 Sport

The Dutch Holterman had a busy start of the year launching two new X-Treme models in succession.  The Holterman X-treme 78 Sport is the largest of these models and follows the launch of the 105 flagship launched in 2022.  Designed by Bernd Week for exterior and Kitty van der Kamp for the interior the Holterman X-treme 78 Sport is a different design to other sport yachts, looking utilitarian and rugged thanks to the forward looking windshield forward but in the same time modern and into the future due to not ordinary curved lines.  Build in aluminium the Holterman X-treme 78 Sport offer a four double cabins lower deck, with a main deck offering an astern galley with dining table for six opposite and a lounging sofa to starboard behind the helm station.  The Holterman X-treme 78 Sport is powered by twin Volvo 1000hp with IPS pod propulsion reaching speeds up to 32 knots, which is an impressive four knots more to the one anticipated in project.

New Model: Sirena 78

Sirena has launched the new 78 in the second half of 2022, a model which fills the void between the 68 and current 88 flagship and stands in the door step of super 24 meter plus yacht size.  Designed as the bigger and smaller Sirena's by German Frers with interiors by Dutch Cor D. Rover, the 78 is an explorer yacht which offers three options for the flybridge area available as enclosed bridge, three-part hard top, or as an open hard-top. The flybridge in the Sirena is also offered in six layouts, here the choices are endless from a large C-shape or smaller L-shape dinette and a galley bar area with stools to an internal staircase.  The options continue on the main deck with the Sirena 78 offered in five layouts. with main differences here being a fully open plan, and with or without lower helm.  The lower deck with four cabins is also available in two layouts the option here is for having a his and hers bathroom or a walk-in wardrobe in the master stateroom.  Three  options also exist for crew cabins available in a two or three berths.  The Sirena 78 is standard powered by twin Man 1400hp with optional 1550hp and 1800hp units available.

Project: Rizzardi GR Cinquantatre

Following on the footsteps of the SessantaTre Rizzardi expand the classic GR line with the project for an upcoming Cinquantatre 53, second vessel of this traditional Italian sport yacht inspired series, which takes over from the nineties and noughties popular Topline. This model with its 53 designation has also a special meaning since it launched the Topline series in 1992 with the recognizable and aggressive engine air intakes just under the shearline. Project: Rossinavi Infinity 42 Blue

In the wake of the success of Sea Cat, Rossinavi has embraced the new challenge of transferring BluE, the Rossinavi's new eco-friendly navigation technology to a monohull, choosing to apply this to one of Rossinavi's most appreciated projects, also born from the collaboration with Fulvio de Simoni. The result is Infinity 42 BluE. This yacht is entirely in aluminum and with a reduced draft, that guarantees a pleasant navigation also in shallow waters. Equipped with solar panels and a capacious battery pack, Infinity 42 BluE will be able to navigate 90% of the time in full-electric mode in a daily navigation scenario and 70% in an Atlantic crossing scenario, while the rest of the time is spent with the support of diesel generators. This is a great advantage in terms of reducing noise, odors and emissions. Infinity 42 BluE's solar panels are excellent in low-intensity sunlight and are able to generate energy even with minimum angles of solar incidence. On an aesthetic level, integration with the deck is almost total thanks to the great flexibility that allows them to be perfectly inserted into curvilinear designs. This project has an innovative eco-displacement hull, designed to reduce consumption even more than a traditional full-displacement hull at the classic cruising speeds of ten to eleven knots. Like all new Rossinavi projects, Infinity 42 BluE will feature the Rossinavi Artificial Intelligence system on board. The AI system constantly monitors the boat's performance, is able to learn and anticipate the needs of the guests on board and continuously communicates with crew members, suggesting lower-impact actions and instructing them in more conscious boating. This is also accompanied by the ever-present Rossinavi Zero Noise Technology, that dramatically reduces noise and vibrations on board. With regard to the interiors, every space on board has been meticulously studied in order to guarantee guests as many areas as possible, all with maximum comfort. Above all, the large sun deck stands out which extends, thanks to a small difference in height, to the stern end. This original architecture makes it possible to create an open area aft of the saloon portal, protected on all sides and offering great comfort and privacy even when the boat is at the quay as it is partially screened towards the stern by the raised deck. The sun deck hosts a dining area, a bar, a sunbathing area, as well as a jacuzzi. New Launch: Michael Rybovich 94 Sportfisherman Hull#6

Michael Rybovich and Sons Hull No. 6 is a 94-foot enclosed bridge, which is designed to fish anywhere in the world in total luxury, thanks to a state-of-the-art power management system and redundant systems throughout. The design features a full-beam master with side windows disguised as engine air intakes to allow in natural light without compromising the look of the hull from the outside. This build includes room to sleep up to eight guests and four crewmembers, making it the largest built by the Rybovich family to date. Designed by Michael and Dusty Rybovich responsible for the exterior and naval architecture, 94 Sportfisherman hull number six featured a modified Vee shape hull which closes at a rather flat seven degrees angle aft.  Another design detail of this new Rybovich flagship is the straight sheer line, which has not been shown since the 2007 launched 68 hull#124.  Powered by twin MTU 2600hp Michael Rybovich 94 Sportfisherman reaches a top speed of 41 knots.
