New Model: Admiral 65m GC Force

Admiral has in Summer 2019 launched a new 65 meter super yacht.  Named m/y Life Saga this new Admiral 65 meter presents itself with a classic line but with touches of originality represented by the large central glazing that connects the main to the upper deck.  This feature together with the large vertical windows from the master cabin and the Vip cabin on the upper deck offer the feeling of touching the sea at all times.  On the Admiral 65 meter the Sundeck has generous spaces, ample sun pads and a bar area connected to one of the two swimming pools.  The beach area is large and equipped with all comforts, from the sauna to the gym, but with the plus of two beach side platforms. The Interiors are the result of a single key word: Relax.  A small palette of materials and finishes have been used in order to keep a continuity throughout the super yacht that allows guests to flow uninterrupted from space to space.  The leather coupled with natural oak, walnut and teak finishes are the perfect combination for a relaxed nature on board.   This new Admiral 65 meter is powered by twin Cat 1600hp engines and reaches a max speed of sixteen knots.

Project: Sunseeker 133 Yacht

During the Cannes boat show Sunseeker announced the exciting new 133 Yacht project.  This radical super yacht has been designed with a dramatic new round-bilge semi-displacement hull form, paving the way for a completely new design philosophy for the next generation of Sunseeker yachts. The new 133 Yacht, part of the new Superyacht series, is the first-ever Sunseeker with a vertical bow and with a beam of nine meters, and contains 27 percent more interior volume than its sistership, the 131 Yacht. Remarkably, she offers just 15% less volume than the previous flagship 155 Yacht and with a gross tonnage of 448 GT, she is to be powered by twin MTU 2636hp for a maximum top speed of 24kts or efficient displacement cruising over distances of as much as 3,500nm.  MTU’s Hybrid system can now also be specified for the first time with their smaller 12V engines to deliver a multitude of scenarios from improving range still further to allowing zero emissions whilst cruising or anchoring.  The new 133 Yacht is part of a major new product development plan announced by Sunseeker’s CEO, Andrea Frabetti and she will be ready to launch in 2021. Sunseeker has designed the 133 Yacht with discerning clientele in mind. It understands that customers are spending more time on board, both at sea and at anchor, with increased comfort and the quality of life on board of supreme importance. The new 133 Yacht will benefit from reduced noise, more usable space and the latest technology including SCR systems, future-proofing against upcoming changes to emission regulations.  Another fantastic feature of the 133 Yacht is the configuration of the upper ‘Sky Lounge’ deck. Owners can access the foredeck via two parallel side stairwells or through the upper deck itself allowing seamless access and less movement through the interior of the yacht.  The fresh design direction for this new model goes beyond her dramatic new exterior lines. There is flexibility in how the ‘Beach Club’ and tender arrangements can be configured. The first option is to have a traditional garage with ample stowage for PWC’s, toys and equipment or alternatively, owners can choose to have a dedicated full beam, spacious Beach Club at the stern whilst a Williams 460 SportJet tender sits within the foredeck spa pool, launched via its adjacent crane. In this scenario, owners may wish to tow a larger tender, such as Sunseeker’s own high performance Hawk 38.  The aft deck entertainment area is fully integrated into the overall design, merging seamlessly with the vast saloon due to its fully-flush floor. In addition, the transition between the two spaces is replicated overhead thanks to the linear detail of the ceiling panels. A central bar unit sits just aft of the saloon, fully opened to the outdoors via invisible bi-fold doors on either side and an electrically lowering central glass panel. Entertaining in style across such considerable interior and exterior decks just got a lot more interesting.  Creating an important first impression, guests are welcomed on board via double doors amidships leading to a spacious starboard lobby. Within is a feature staircase across all floors allowing access to the main saloon and dining areas aft and master and guest cabins forward. On the port side, the side deck and side door on both main decks can be used exclusively for crew, thereby aiding the privacy of owner and guests.  The interiors, designed by long-term partner Design Unlimited are understandably opulent but the first impression is one of light, space, detail, technology and infinite mood choice via subtle lighting integration.  This is a yacht that owners and guests will want to spend extended time on board whether that be inside in immense luxury or the numerous entertaining spaces outdoors from the foredeck, ‘Sky Lounge’, aft deck or impressive ‘Beach Club’ with direct water access.

New Model: Azimut 78 Flybridge

Presented as a project as an Azimut 76 during the Cannes 2018 boat show, the Azimut 78 Flybridge, had a hype launch due to a few firsts.  The new Azimut 78 Flybridge is the first to feature a triple Volvo IPS power installation as introduced for the S range with the 55S in 2012, and is number one in the Flybridge range to feature the Alberto Mancini exterior treatment.  The flybridge motor cruiser and motor yacht from twelve to thirty meters is a segment which the Italian boat builder has been leader for well over three decades, not only in sale numbers with some models selling hundreds of units, but also in design and layout innovation. Azimut has since the nineties re-modeled the flybridge boat in design features and layout.  The Azimut 78 Flybridge of the Mancini era brings with it a sporty profile outside, with the inside featuring a four double cabins layout, with the traditional midships owners stateroom at midships, VIP suite forward, and two guest cabins in between.  The Azimut 78 Flybridge thinks different in the size with the way the crew quarters with two cabins located forward is connected to the galley on the port side of the helm station on the main deck.  This is unseen in this size with most 22 to 25 meters motor yachts having crew cabins aft, while with the Azimut 78 Flybridge layout this has a seamless connection to the crew quarters which in galley management duty does not disturb guests.  The Azimut 78 Flybridge is offered in two main deck layouts choices of lounge and dining, with the distinctive feature of having a lounge table in the central part of the main deck or a dining table for eight.  The Azimut 78 Flybridge is powered by triple Volvo 900hp as standard with optional 1000hp engines with IPS pod propulsion.  Speeds are up to 33 knots with the optional large engines, and 31 knots with the standard power.

New Model: Arcadia 23.98m Sherpa XL

It has been ten years since Arcadia was born, and delivered at the time the first and daring A85 model, for sure one of the first green conscious super yachts.  Arcadia quickly followed the A85 with more models up in size till the 115, and then in 2017 it started looking downward by presenting the eighteen meter Sherpa.  Now thirty Arcadia units later in the sea, the Italian Neapolitan boat builder presents the new Sherpa XL, the second small size model in its range, two centimeters LOA shy under the 24 meter super yacht size.  The Sherpa XL designed by the Hot Lab studio is as any all other Arcadia different and daring, with an exterior design inspired to a working tug boat, with a split level shear line and a way forward located pilot house.  The exterior of the Sherpa XL takes over 60% in length, while the interior area located forward and upward features an L-shaped lounge sofa, and central helm station with two helm seats.  There is a further option here to have a galley located to port side, replacing the standard layout with a lower galley to port side, this replaced by a fourth cabin with en-suite head.  The lower deck offers a classic arrangement for the remaining three cabins, with a full beam owners cabin, forward VIP, and third guest cabin to starboard.  Crew quarters for two persons are located forward.  The Sherpa XL is standard powered by twin Volvo 800hp, with an optional choice for the large 1000hp units.  Propulsion is Volvo forward looking dual propeller IPS pods.  Tender stowage is unusual with the Sherpa XL stowing the tender in a garage at midships which opens at starboard side.

Project: Baglietto 65m V-Line

Baglietto during a press conference held at the Monte-Carlo Bay Hotel and Resort in Monaco the latest design of its new 65-meter superyacht created by Francesco Paszkowski Design.  The past and present come to life in this 65-meter concept whose lines were shown in private during the 2018 Monaco Yacht Show.  The subtle retro style of the roll-bar reminds us of one of the great Baglietto classics, Adler, from which the designer takes explicit inspiration. The vertical bow and an innovative stern add a modern and unique style. The profile has a chic combination of soft and powerful lines, along with large windows that are perfectly camouflaged in the structure thanks to a special darkening film.  The 65-meter T-Line superyacht is also inspired by the connection of light and water, which is found in many yachts aesthetic choices. The high windows in the main deck and the upper deck is a distinctive element of Baglietto yachts and created by Francesco Paszkowski Design. The pool on the upper deck has a transparent floor facing a large aquarium on the main deck. Natural light is a key added value on this design, including the large central lobby area where the light comes directly from the glass skylights of the flybridge.  Instead of stairs, the main deck is accessed via continuous side corridors. There is also a unique transition space between the exterior and interior which resembles a real winter garden. It has a transparent window and skylights placed on the ceiling, which allows guests to enjoy the natural light and converse even in the most adverse weather conditions.  Guest will also find an aquarium, a furnishing element, at the pool on the main deck. There are a large conversation area and dining area for twelve guests directly connected to the modern galley equipped for high-quality catering. In the bow, guests will find the owner’s suite and a VIP cabin with exclusive access to a private gym.  The accommodations include a six cabin layout. Four of the cabins are located on the lower deck, which could be accessed through an elevator or a convenient side door in the lobby. The bow area on this bridge is for the crew and includes the crew mess as well as space for their accommodations.  Aft, still on the lower deck, the floodable garage offers accommodation for a ten meter tender. A multi-purpose open space is also available, which is ideal for life on-board because it provides direct contact with the sea and natural light. The aft area, thanks to two side doors, can be transformed into a huge beach club with a gym or a pool area if the tender is launched. Behind the beach is a generous wellness area that includes a sauna, and dedicated services.  Going up on the upper deck, in line with the aquarium located on the main deck, guests will find the swimming pool with a sunbathing and dining area, including a wonderful bar. Inside, there’s a full-width cinema room and the wheelhouse with the captain’s cabin.  Finally, a second swimming pool is located on the sun deck with a large sunbathing area and a shaded conversation area near the roll bar.  A helipad for touch-and-go landings as well as a garage area for a 5.4-meter rescue tender and two jets are also available.  Various motorization options are being considered for this project. A hybrid solution is also envisaged.

Project: Solaris Power Lobster 78

Solaris entered the power segment in 2019 with a bang, presenting two models and an interesting plan ahead of a five model line up from fourteen up to 26 meters.  After the launch of the 55, and 48 Open models respectively, Solaris now is presenting details for its second large project, the Lobster 78.  The Solaris Power Lobster 78 is as the name says inspired to the Down East boat, but beside the sweeping sheer line, and flared bow, this is a flybridge motor yacht in essence and substance.  Offering a four cabin lower deck interior the Lobster 78 will feature an interesting living area with an opening balcony to port side.  A galley will be located in the central area of the main deck, with opposite the eight person dinette.  The Lobster 78 by the first layout designs will also feature an option for an internal stair case from the saloon to the flybridge.  Norberto Ferretti was always keen on this feature so often forgotten today, and in the past he actually offered this in nearly all his flybridge models even those sub fifteen meters.  The Solaris Power Lobster 78 in the renderings looks to be powered by a triple engine set up with what looks Volvo's IPS pod propulsion.
