Project: Paragon 25 Ranger

This project of Paragon 25 Ranger has been announced at the start of 2012, but then delayed to the trouble this Swedish yacht builder part of the Nimbus group has encountered in the middle of the same year.  Now the new Paragon model should be premiered at this moment at the Dusseldorf boat show.  The Ranger is an open version of the standard 25 Paragon presented in early 2012.   The 25 Ranger will still feature the two berth cuddy cabin but will miss the enclosed pilot house.  A huge all around rubber protection rubber fender also makes the Paragon 25 Ranger look like a Rib to the untrained eye.  Power is single Volvo Diesel engine from 225 till 300hp.

Project: Castagnola 38 WJ

At the Italian Lavagna shipyard facilities of the Castagnola family work has been started the construction for the 38 WJ.  The new flagship for this known wood yacht builder, which will measure a length of over 38 meters and have a beam of eight plus.  The hull construction will be done by wood with the well proven triple planking method; also, the shipyard technical office is also evaluating the use of carbon fiber sheets to improve the strength and keep the boat lighter: 146 tons in full load displacement are expected. After completion, she will be one of the biggest planning super yachts ever built in wood, and to be water jets powered.  Designed by by Andrea Borzelli and Sara Berta architects for both the interior and exterior, the Castagnola 38 WJ will be a two deck and a half super yacht featuring what I call modern Italian sleek lines in vogue since the early eighties.  The 38 WJ will sleep a total of eleven guests, in four VIP suites below deck, with the  owners stateroom on the main deck.  Crew accommodation will be in three double cabins located at the midships of the hull.  The crew area will also feature a lobby with an L-shaped settee, and a galley.  A gym is to be located below to midships, and this also features a separate staircase access, plus another one from the crew area.   Castagnola 38 WJ also offers interesting power choice having triple MTU engines of 1948hp engines with Jet propulsion, who should push it up to a top speed of 31 knots.

Its been awaited for very long and also partially announced during one of the past boat shows, this is the Sealine F37 which completes the new minimal change look to all the range under fifty feet of the American owned British boat builder.  With this new model Sealine fills a void it had in recent years, and one which has always been important in its sales.  That of an entry level sub forty feet flybridge motor cruiser.  The F37 features a two cabins with twin heads layout, and with the current dimensions online should share hull with the SC35 this being a design to renowned hull specialist Michael Peters.  The galley is to be located below, with the main deck offering a traditional layout of L-shaped dinette, and an opposite sofa settee.  Power will be from twin Volvo stern drive engine of 260 or 330hp, with top speeds estimates being at 33 knots with the larger optional choice.

Project: Steeler 47 Explorer

After gaining quite a following with its new modern looking NG line, the Dutch firm Steeler changes direction and present the 47 Explorer.  As the title in the model designation this new project from Steeler is an explorer cruiser.  This new Steeler also represents a fresh new look outside taking more cues from working canal boats, then from trawler US fishing boats as is usually the case in these type of craft.  Steeler has not passed much information but we know that the 47 Explorer is an all steel build and should weight at about 24 tons.

New Model: Riviera 63 Open Flybridge Series II

Showcasing the project first of an Enclosed Bridge, Riviera was fast to capitulate on this model and launch the new 63 Open Flybridge Series II. This new Riviera which is the current flagship of the Open Flybridge lines is a further development of three previous models; the 56, 56/58, and the recent 61.  Still Riviera has refined this models in various elements taking a lot of cues from the new 75 flagship. and the thing which really stays the same is actually the beam of the hull.  Even its underwater sections have been tuned up by in house designer Alan Dowd who widened the forward planning sections in order to offer easier lift at slower speeds and reduce spray.  The 63 Open Flybridge Series II is offered in two internal layout plans with the standard being a four cabin seven berths three head version.  The option is a three double cabins which increases the space of the forward cabin and makes this become the owners stateroom.  One of the most likable layout details of the 63 Open Flybridge Series II is for sure the main deck plan; which thanks to the astern galley which combined with the mezzanine on the exterior cockpit, becomes a combination of entertainment areas each with own purpose on single level. Standard power is twin Cats 1015hp which give a top speed of 28 knots.  But larger engines are available increasing top speeds by 6 knots up to 34.
