Project: Mustang 43

Part of Maritimo since 2010, Mustang continues to upgrade its range and presents its third model in project design which will sit nicely between the 32 and 50 models.  The new Mustang 43 follows the concept of its larger and smaller sisters, of a hard top sport cruiser, with a very family feeling to the exterior looks.  Accommodation wise the Mustang 43 will surprise for its spacious aft deck, and a patio door divided main saloon.  Below will be two cabins having an owners room to fore, and options for the full beam guest cabin to be with relaxing sofa, or two extra bunk berths sleeping a total of six persons.  Power will be twin Volvo 330hp with stern drive propulsion.  The Mustang 43 will be marketed as Maritimo 43 Sport Yacht in the US market.

Mustang new virtual showroom takes you around with the following buttons: Home, A New Mustang, Build Integrity, Mustang 32, and Mustang 50.

New Model: Mustang 50 Sport Cruiser

Since being taken over by Maritimo, Mustang presents its second model the 50 Sport Cruiser.  Not an entirely new model as the 50 Sport Cruiser is a redefined Maritimo C50 Sports Cabriolet, but features one important difference, with the current Mustang flagship being powered by Volvo IPS pods.  Since then Maritimo have presented a new Maritimo C50 IPS Sports Cabriolet available only for the US market which is same in all areas as the Mustang 50 Sport Cruiser, but it will be interesting for the future if we will see more re badged Maritimo's entering into the Mustang brand. The IPS propulsion choice of the Mustang 50 Sport Cruiser allows a new lower deck layout with a larger midships located owners stateroom.  The other cabins are located fore for the VIP, and a single guest berth to starboard side.  The main deck has also been redefined now offering a more socialising living area with an astern galley.  Power is from twin Volvo 435hp engines which are propelled with IPS forward looking dual propeller pods

New Model: Mustang 32

Mustang first new model the 32 has been much expected since the company was taken over by boat builder Bill Barry-Cotter more or less about a year ago.  Bill Barry-Cotter is today owner of Maritimo and founded Riviera about three decades ago. The 32 brings many of the style of the recently introduced Maritimo sports cruiser series in a smaller package.  From the photos on the web site I say that the Mustang 32 feels much more to its size, from a three side enclosed cockpit and spacious aft deck entertaining area.  This last features a large L-shape lounge that runs along the port side and curves around the transom, a dinette table can convert this lounge into a great day bed, forward helm on the starboard side with companion seats, and a well equipped galley opposite to port side.  A companionway leads to the accommodation of a master cabin forward with an island double bed and hanging lockers. A second two bunk berths cabin is on the starboard side and the bathroom is to port.  May be the only disappointment for the new Mustang model is for a standard single 380hp gas Mercruiser engine, which decreases the cruising capability of this intersting entry level sport cruiser.  So far the optional engine choices have not been announced, but surely would be good even on a global market perspective to have twin engines petrol gas or diesel fuel choice.
Technical Data:
LOA - 9.67 m (32.4ft)
Hull Length - 9.67 m
Beam - 3.75 m

Displacement - 5000 kg dry
Fuel Capacity - 550 l
Water Capacity - 130 l
Accommodation - 4 berths in 2 cabins
Engine - 1 x Mercruiser 8.2 Mag 380hp
Propulsion - Mercruiser stern drive

Project: Mustang 32 Sports Cruiser

Mustang presents its relaunch model, which signal the first release to be made under the eye of boat builder Bill Barry-Cotter, owner of Maritimo today, and founder of Riviera in the past.  The Mustang 32 Sports Cruiser will feature a two cabin interior plan which sleep a total of four.  The three-side enclosed hard top presents a big part of the aft cockpit.  Here the entertaining area features a large L-shape lounge that runs along the port side and curves around the transom. A dinette table can convert this lounge into a great sun pad.  The cockpit includes a forward helm on the starboard side with helm and companion seats. A well-equipped galley is opposite on the port side.  Forward, a companionway leads to the accommodation of a master cabin forward with an island double bed and hanging lockers. A second two-bunk cabin is on the starboard side and the bathroom is on the port side.  The new design builds on the great tradition of the Mustang brand.  Standard power is for a single 380hp Mercruiser gas engine aimed to make a very intersting entry level price.

New Model: Mustang 480 Sports Euro

Based on the 430 Sport Coupe hull, the Sports Euro is Mustang's flybridge version of the more aggressive looking hard top design. New Model: Mustang 2850 Sport Cruiser

Mustang Marine embark on 2010 with great panache by officially launching their new 2850 Sports Cruiser. A much expected model the 2850 Sports Cruiser is based on the popular 2800 Sports Cruiser, and captures a review of the Australian boat builder entry level sport cruiser market offer. The 2850 will make its way around Australia and New Zealand in the coming weeks. Mustang says the 2850 Sport Cruiser takes all that was good in the 2800 and adds a range of the latest innovations, with extra living and entertaining space. The 2850 Sport Cruiser now has more beam to provide extra room in the cockpit area, and below decks. The galley has been moved from below deck to the cockpit deck, providing more comfort, access when entertaining with your family and friends. Down below is a full standing head room even in the separate shower toilet. As seen on other Mustang models, even on its entry level model the Aussie builder integrates latest technology features as the touch screen electrical control panel, Finscan fingerprint starting technology, Smart Craft gauges, electric engine room access, and latest entertainment systems. Steps leading to the foredeck, boarding ladder to stern will ensure safe easy access whilst on the boat in and out of the water. For anyone considering getting into boating, the 2850 Sports Cruiser should be well inspected as it offers a lot although to make it work in Europe I do suggest Mustang to put a diesel engine option, as well as bigger fuel tanks. A more sportier version of the 2850 named Super Sports is also on the works.

Projects: Mustang 550 Sports Euro, Mustang 500 Sports Coupe, Mustang 2850 Sport Cruiser

Australian boat builder Mustang comes from a healthy period of novelties fueled by the release of its new Sport range presented a little less then over a year ago with the 430. Today the down under builder offers three interesting new projects, two on the higher end, and one being an entry level to its range. Rendering above show the new 550 Sports Euro what will be so far the new flagship of Mustang's range. As all the Sports range the new 550 is designed with a European style in looks and practicality, with the Euro name here representing the flybridge version. This truly luxurious boat will like boasting modern and high end quality furnishing offering the perfect entertainment with large but warm layouts. Her interior layout will offer a three double cabin two head interior plan, here finding a full beam owners suite mid ship, VIP to fore, and double bunk berth. Power will be from a triple Volvo IPS600 set up. Inspired by in-house designers and accomplished down under naval architects the Mustang 500 Sports Coupe project is created to meet the expectations of today's serious and experienced boat owner. Using high quality materials, the most modern production techniques and strict quality assurances, the Mustang 500 Sports Coupe is a new expression of performance boating from Australia. With expansive and functional single level living, exciting cabin layouts, the 500 Sports Coupe offers an identical three cabin interior to the 550 above minus the second helm station above. It is basically a more sportier version of the flybridge motor yacht 550 Sport Euro, identical in size and comfort, but missing the flybridge deck here replaced by an opening sunroof. The 500 Sports Coupe is also powered by triple Volvo IPS600 which is coupled to a proven sea keeping hull design.
The last rendering above introduces the new 2850 Sports Cruiser project what features modern usability with styling in mind. The 2850 Sports Cruiser will be Mustang introduction entry level model, opening the door to first time boaters into its range. The 2850 Sports Cruiser will have a one level open cockpit and larger than normal internal space with four berths in two areas, separate shower head, and a galley. Mustang says the interior of the 2850 Sports Cruiser will be one of the roomiest in this size sports cruiser. The 2850 Sports Cruiser will be offered with two power options from Mercruiser or Volvo both in petrol versions. So far it seems there is no diesel choice, but also a limited fuel tank of only 300 litres which should make for a short range of only about a hundred miles.

Project: Mustang 480 Sports Euro

Mustang continues to upgrade its new European styling across the Sports range which debuted with the 430 Sports Coupe, with the new 480 Sports Euro being the second of the line up. This Motor Cruiser has many distinctive features of the 430 but is also a bit longer, and will also feature a flybridge. The 480 Sports Euro is to be presented officially in a weeks time during the Sydney show, and features as the title says European styling integrated with the latest technology, added with a stylish and functional Euro Flybridge. The 480 Sports Euro will be the first Mustang to feature “Bio eStart – Fingerprint engine starting technology”, which eliminates the need for engine keys and traditional Start Stop panels, and replaces them with a stylish flush mounted LED backlit device with LED indicators. Mustang owners will be assured an easy boating experience, without the need to hide or remember their engine keys before going boating. The 480 Sports Euro will also feature the popular electronic vessel management system, with either Volvo IPS or Cummins Zeus pod drive systems, hydraulic boarding platform, and modern vanilla oak timberwork finished interiors. Mustang gave little information on engine HP, speeds and layouts but advised that a further extension to the Sports range is in advanced development with the third model a 550 Sports Euro schedule for launch in December.

New Model: Mustang 430 Sports Coupe

Mustang presented its much waited new 430 Sports Coupe in the end of January, in a special party at its head quarters in Australia. The new 430 Sports Coupe represents a new departure for Mustang, because of its fully enclosed hard top, with electric opening sun roof, and patio door astern, which opens the interior saloon to join with the aft deck. Accommodation wise the Mustang 430 Sports Coupe offers versatility too available in a 2 or 3 cabin version, offering 4 or 6 berths respectively. Another novelty for Mustang is the use of Volvo IPS600 propulsion which increases performance, gives better economy, and makes docking manoeuvring for beginners as easy as its gets thanks to the use it everybody joystick control.

Projects: Mustang 430 Sports Coupe, Mustang M 56 Sports Flybridge

The new 430 Sports Coupe is an exciting project development for the new Mustang Marine team. This is an innovative Sport Cruiser from the new owners of the Australian Mustang Marine, who seems committed to the continual growth of this builder founded in 1974 and the addition of this new Sports Coupe range is the first of many new developments in the pipeline. Key Features for this project are the Volvo IPS propulsion power with joystick docking system, large swim platform with integrated BBQ station, extensive fully equipped entertainment deck, glass bi-fold entrance patio doors, moulded hard top with glazed sunroof, 2 or 3 cabin layout options and a more innovative fresh European design, let me add North looks outside.
An important project for Mustang, for it's new flagship model the M 56 Sports Flybridge. A Sportfisher of 18 metres of full length with undeniable USA looks, offering comfortable accommodation and high sea keeping qualities, which is the norm for these style of yachts. One of the most distinctive, comfortable and sought out features of the M 56 is without a doubt the enclosed flybridge area, with internal stair case offering an all weather helm station, but also a great socializing area up top with the right comforts. Much appreciated on plan and hoping the real boat will be the same is the galley, located aft of the main saloon, perfect for entertainment with easy communication with the exterior cockpit deck, and the upper bridge thanks to the opposite facing staircase which leads up top. The main deck saloon has also 2 l-shaped settees to fore of the galley, one for dining and an other for socializing. The lower deck reserved all for sleeping accommodation has 3 cabins with 2 heads one of which en-suite. Standard power for the M 56 Sports Flybridge will be twin Caterpillars C12 at 715 hp each. Mustang is estimating a 20 t dry weight, light for a Sport Fisher but achieved thanks to the use of Kevlar in the construction process.
