Schaefer Yachts from Brazil presents its new web site. Schaefer Yachts was founded by sail boat racer turned naval architect Marcio Schaefer in 1992, first named as Kiwi Boats. Mario Schaefer is a sea lover from early age and at fifteen years old he starts to participate in regattas, becoming Ocean Class Brazilian champion for four times from 1980 to 1990. In between competing and winning regatta's Mario also studies naval architecture in between 1983 to 1985 at Escuela Argentina para Desarrollo de la Nautica Esportiva in Buenos Aires, Argentina. This will prove a big advantage for Kiwi Boat turned Schaefer Yachts, as it is one of the few boat builders owned and directed by a naval architect. As someone into sailing Mario starts his career as a sailboat designer, designing sailboats from 23 to 42 feet. After working for and in various yards in Brazil, Argentina, Spain and England Mario will move his naval architecture path to that of motor boats, and decides to open his boat yard in 1992 at Santa Katarina at first called Estaleiro Kiwi Boat located in Fazenda do Max, in São José, debuting with the F6 outboard powered speed boat. The first model is followed in 1996 by the Phantom 235, a bow rider available in both inboard and outboard, which is two years later evolved into the 240 with cuddy cabin. In year 2000 Schaefer starts its expansion to a larger production facility, and also debuts its Phantom 345 sport cruiser. In 2006 Schaefer builds its first fifteen meter plus yacht with the Phantom 500HT model. This is followed by a larger 620 flagship in 2011. In 2013 Schaefer enters the 24 meters plus super yacht market as it launches the 830, produced in six units in a six year production run. In 2018 Schaefer starts a corporation with Pininfarina who redesigns the 510 and 510 S models. In 2019 Schaefer debuts the 25 M new flagship model. In 2022 Schaefer reaches some impressive miles stones; as it produces its 3500th boat, and also sells its hundred boat in the USA, a market it entered in 2016. Schaefer most sold model is the 290-300-303, which has sold 1,600 units as produced from 2002 to 2024, and is South America most popular boat. Today Schaefer builds thirteen models from the ten meter V33 to the 25 M flagship, with its latest model being the 600 which arrived this 2025.
