An eight meter express sportfish cruiser with one boater aboard ended aground at High Bar Harbor, Long Beach Township in Ocean County, New Jersey on the night Sunday 22 October 2023. The sportfish cruiser was assisted by Sea Tow Central New Jersey, who shared the story on its Facebook page, who upon arrival on the scene towed the boat into deep water. Following this the boat was towed to Oyster Creek Channel for inspection and eventual repairs.
The sportfish cruiser in this accident is a Topaz 29 Sportfisherman as produced from 1982 to 2000. Topaz was founded in North Carolina operating from 1975 to 1991, restarting operation under new ownership in 1999 at New Jersey.
