A 22 meter Pershing sport yacht with Italian flag ended damaging its running gear and cosmetic parts of its upper hull on the evening of twelfth July in the Asinara Island. The Pershing sport yacht was enjoying the Asinara national park, Cala d'Oliva on a swing mooring when strong gusts of North East winds turned the evening ugly. Eventually when the wind calmed the Pershing yacht was able to return to safety, in this case in the harbour of Bosa in the West part of Sardinia some fifty nautical miles away from the accident.
The damaged Pershing is a 76 as designed by Fulvio de Simoni and produced from 2002 till 2007. The Pershing 76 came out as a replacement to the 73 and was replaced by the 72.
