Bayliner Boat Fire Burns Two Other Boats in Michigan Harbour

An eight meter Bayliner sport cruiser with two person onboard caught fire, and after this set two other boats ablaze at Michigan Harbor next to Miller Marina, St. Clair Shores, Lake St. Clair at about 20:15 of Tuesday 28 July 2020.  The Bayliner boat with two persons onboard is reported to have exploded and caught fire following refuelling, with the two boaters jumping in the water, and with the boat drifting eventually burning two other docked and unattended boats of ten and seven meters in length respectively.  Macomb County Sheriff marine division responded to the fire call first, and was later assisted by St. Clair Shores firefighters, the police, and the U.S. Coast Guard, taking about thirty minutes to extinguish the flames of the three vessels, with the two men on the Bayliner who jumped into the sea being uninjured.  Macomb Deputy Sheriff is investigating the incident.
The sport cruiser in this fire is a Bayliner 2650 Ciera Sunbridge as produced from 1987 to 1989.  The 2650 Ciera Sunbridge was as a replacement to the 2550 Ciera Sunbridge and was replaced by the 2755 Ciera Sunbridge.  The other boats involved in this fire are a latest model Sea Ray Sundancer 370 Outboard which looks to be totalled, and an open Century boat.
