Improve-it = Horizon E88

A new Horizon E88 was recently delivered by the renowned Taiwan builder.  This model included the optional skylounge.  This E88 is powered by twin MTU 1920hp which gave her a top speed of 23 knots. This particular Horizon E88 included new work from the design team at Taiwan, in keeping with the owner's layout requirements, the galley was moved to aft on the main deck, allowing it to come together with the deck and as one large entertaining space. Forward of the galley lies a dinette, which is separated from the main salon by a beautiful custom-designed partition that can be hidden when desired. Completely forward on the main deck is the owner's office that takes advantage of the expansive windshield windows to offer an amazing view. Below deck are four en-suite staterooms, and crew quarters are found aft of the engines.  Another customer feature of this new Horizon E88 are its height and weight conscious build.  For example, Horizon designed and implemented a folding radar mast that will fold down at the touch of a button, allowing the yacht to travel without "overhead" worry. Mechtilda also includes a transformer on the swim platform that can hold up to three hundred kilos and extend up, outwards and down for enjoying numerous water activities. This new E88 was delivered in the the middle of March.

Project: Azimut 80

Azimut presents an important project of a new 80 designed outside by long time standing architect Stefano Righini.  This new model is a project to be made in the Turin facility with the current largest build ever made here being the 72S.  So far Azimut has not mentioned if this new 80 will replace the 78 produced at the Viareggio yard, the smallest build coming from this facility.  Stefano Righini in this new Azimut 80  evolves the style the known Italian builder has pioneered since the advent of the 68 Plus in 1999 and since then on all the fifty to seventy feet models, of a flybridge yacht with low profile looks but yet spacious and innovative solutions both inside and outside. The interior layout designed by recent recruit Achille Salvagni of this new 80 will feature four double cabins, with all having en-suite heads and a very large owners stateroom to midships.  The main deck is characterized by a traditional layout of welcoming saloon, dining area, a separate galley in the standard plan but which is also available as an open version, and a day head.  The helm station offers a two seats plus an L-shaped dinette to port side.  Navigation wise the Azimut 80 will be build to CE A standards and is to be powered by MAN 1550hp engines with a top speed of 30 knots being estimated.  Stabilizing options which more the time passes seem to become more important is offered from Seakeeper gyros, or CMC fins.

New Model: Absolute 55 Fly

The Absolute 55 Fly is a further evolution of the 50 its first flybridge yacht launched in 2010, which became also available as 53 model at 2011. But to say this is actually so, you are taking away the good job the designers at the Italian company called Research Lab manage to make.  It is an amazing feat and shows huge market Intel from Absolute which makes the 55 Fly as one of the most interesting flybridge motor yachts available in the sixteen meters size today.  The Absolute 55 Fly actually takes only whats below the waterline from the its predecessors, whats above is completely new and fresh.  There are a lot of things to like in the Absolute 55 Fly from the astern galley, to the twin dinette very rare with the kitchen to aft, an aft deck with sunpad which looks like coming from a sports yacht, side door by the helm station to starboard, and three large cabins below of which a full beam owners stateroom. Power comes from a four different choice of Volvo engines one of which is a triple units, with Absolute continuing its huge support to the IPS pods now available on all the sixteen models of the Italian builder.

Project: Numarine 78 HTS

It seems an important moment for Turkish builder Numarine who has made the last couple of weeks showcasing some new projects set to make its line of Motor and Sport Yachts more complete.  This new 78 HTS project is based on the HT model of the same size presented a couple of years ago and is a design by a trio of famous architects; Tommaso Spadolini, Can Yalman, and Umberto Tagliavini.  The HTS adds the aggressive sports line with a sport bridge up top, a new trend which seems to be growing in demand from customers the more time passes.  The sport bridge on project so far has a central stair case which from the aft deck leads on top.  The bridge will feature a central jockey style helm, and four lounge pads to both left and right side of the helm.  Down below the 78 HTS offers a four double cabins interior with a full beam owners stateroom cabin.  A two berth crew cabin plus a small saloon and galley are also located below to midships behind the owners room which leaves the main deck all for the owners entertainment.  Power is twin MAN engines 1200 or optional 1550hp units, with 38 knots top speed estimated from the large choice.

New Model: Prestige 450 S

Prestige continues to reinvent its line with Italian designer Garroni extending and evolving the looks of what he shown a couple years ago with the new 60 flagship.  As it often happens a new top line model usually represents an upgrade and a change to all the line and Prestige has rightfully followed this philosophy with the 450 taking another step from the one year ago presented 500 series.  The Prestige 450 S is a fully enclosed hard top sport cruiser which bring some interesting features in this size from the astern galley on the main deck, to the two separate staircases for the two cabins; owners and guest to fore.  This last is very unusual for a cruiser measuring thirteen meters which adds privacy to the owners room to midships and separate its completely from the guest cabin to fore.  Certainly an appreciated feature if your cruise will involve guests.  Another two extra berths are available in the convertible saloon dinette on the main deck which is located to port side, opposite of the helmsman station, and a two person relaxing sofa.  Power is twin Volvo 370 or optional 435hp engines with the easy to use IPS pods propulsion.

Project: MJM 50z

MJM Yachts is a very interesting builder who came on attention in the last couple of years for the sweet traditional down East lobster boat lines of its models, high technological Kevlar construction, and very efficient running.  Now the US, Boston based boat builder embarks on a project of a new flagship the 50z which extends its five models line which starts at 29 by ten feet.  The 50z is scheduled to launch for next year 2014, and will be offered with two plans for the interior choice.  A single owners room to fore and a more open layout, or a second twin berth cabin to starboard replacing the dinette.  Interestingly both layouts are offered with twin shower heads.  Engine options are twin or triple Volvo or Yanmar 370, and 435hp.  Propulsion is stern drive or IPS pods.  The stern drive configuration is suggested to those who like to cruise in shoal draft making the 50z with less to meter of keel depth.  40 knots max speed and a cruise of 34 are estimated with a triple Yanmar 370hp couple to stern drives.

Ilver New Web Site

Ilver from Italy presents its new World wide web showroom. Ilver was founded in 1965 in Lissone, a town in the province of Monza near the city of Milan.  At first Ilver created a name for high quality small cruisers and runabouts. This was further extended in the eighties with Ilver growing over the forty feet size in this decade, and at the new millennium it presented a new 58 flagship model named Vista still at today in production.  The Vista along with the smaller Scuba where both innovative models when presented in the Genoa show of 2002 for the fact that they where the first large hard top sport yachts to have a layout with a galley up, and a lower deck reserved all for overnight cabin accommodation purposes. Today Ilver has a line of nine models starting with the since nineties produced seven meter Nyuma, and the 58 Vista flagship.  Ilver latest model is the recent redevelopment of the much appreciated Mirable now standing two feet larger.  But in real facts this model has been produced with small stylistic changes since 1992 as 39, then it became a 41 in 1999 and again changing in 2010 to the 42 model.  In Italy the Ilver Mirable has one of the strongest resale values thanks to its timeless classic lines and three cabins interior, something still as at today hard to find in a sport cruiser around the twelve meter mark.  Ilver's new website is available in Italian, English, Russian, and Chinese language and takes you round with the following buttons; Home, Mission, Ilver, Dealers, Range, Press, and Contact.  As is custom today Ilver has also its social media pages; Facebook, Twitter, and Pinterest, all linked from the website.

New Model: Ferretti 960

In the past days Ferretti Group’s Cattolica shipyard and the northern Adriatic coast town’s dock hosted the launch of the first hull of the Ferretti 960.  The launching ceremony was a highly exciting moment for all residents and, particularly, for the numerous Ferretti Group employees that worked on the design and construction of this new Ferretti Yachts’s flagship for months. This new model marks yet another step forward for the Group’s historical brand, which adds a highly prestigious new yacht to its already wide range: this is indeed the largest planing yacht built by the Italian brand in its forty years plus of history. Over the next weeks all technical activities RINA tests, sea trials, system and equipment tests, will be performed and onboard fitting-out operations will be completed. Ferretti 960  is characterised by an optimised interior and exterior layout. It is Ferretti Yachts’s first planing recreational craft featuring the master cabin forward on the main deck, and as many as four guest cabins, all equally sized and with equivalent furnishings and fittings, located on the lower deck and brightened by large open view windows in the hull. The layout also includes three crew cabins with reserved access from the galley, a solution normally found on larger yachts. The external profile sets a new trend in the design of large planing hulls: the glazing running along the entire main deck “cuts” the hull from stern to the extreme bow, contributing to a much lighter profile that ensures incredible interior brightness and endows the yacht with a very sporty look.  As regards performances, the new flagship comes in three different sets of MTU engines. The standard version has two 2218hp engines allowing it to reach a maximum speed of 27 knots and a cruising speed of 24 knots. Two optional solutions include twin 2435, or 2638hp engines, respectively. The maximum speed with the more powerful version is 31 knots and cruise at 27 knots. Such an outstanding propulsion, as usual, goes hand in hand with the maximum comfort ensured by the Mitsubishi Anti Rolling Gyro system, capable of reducing rolling by over 50%.
