New Model: Sunseeker Manhattan 56

Sunseeker present the Manhattan 56, a new model it debuted at the 2026 Boot Dusseldorf.  The Manhattan 56 is for the most part an improvement to the replacing Manhattan 55, which was also based on the Manhattan 52 which arrived in 2016.  The Manhattan 56 versus the outgoing Manhattan 55, shows differences in the hard-top, main deck glazing, and aft cockpit deck.  The hard-top has been redesigned, now similar to the second generation Manhattan 68 which was presented last year.  The hull window glazing has been increased in the main deck by removing the lower decorating transverse pillar.  The aft cockpit might be the most important change now fitted with a modular seating which transforms the area from dining, lounging, and sun-pad, offering exceptional flexibility for entertaining or relaxation.  Fair to say this modular seating takes away some cockpit legroom versus the outgoing Manhattan 55.  For the interior but also the flybridge and fore-deck the Manhattan 56 is unchanged versus the 55, with living dining astern galley layout main deck, and a three double cabins lower deck.  Lost occasion?  When the Manhattan 52 arrived in 2016 it was one of the best flybridge yacht in its size, today the Manhattan 56 even with these improvements is down the packing order.

Four Saved as Ferretti Yacht Ends Wrecked in Peloponnese, Greece

Four Greek mariners were saved as a thirty meter Ferretti super yacht named H and Co and under French flag ended aground and then wrecked off the cape of Agia Marina, to the South of Peloponnese, South Greece on the afternoon of Wednesday eleventh February.  Following a may day call the four mariners; three man and a woman were rescued by three local fishermen first, as the Greek Hellenic coast guard dispatched three patrol boats and an Air Force Super Puma helicopter to assist the mariners.  According to reports the yacht which was being delivered from the South of France last departed Tunisia direction to Piraeus, encountered difficulties off the island of Elafonisos as it ran into a thunder storm with heavy rain, and south-west Beaufort force eight gale winds with forty knots winds.  The yacht then ended without power and ultimately aground, and following this was then wrecked as it kept on being smashed on the rocks by waves of seven meters in height.  The four sailors are reported not injured but were taken to Molaoi hospital for a medical check.  No pollution is reported from the wreckage even though the yacht is reported to be carrying about six thousand litres of diesel fuel.
The yacht in this accident is a 2022 Ferretti 1000 as designed by Filippo Salvetti for exterior and Ideaeitalia for interiors and produced since 2021 to date in 26 units.  The 1000 was a replacement to the Ferretti 960.

Project: Itama 70

Following the return of the totally new Itama 54 debuting in 2025 as designed by Tommaso de Luca, Itama follows it fast with the project of a 70 set to launch later on this year.  Unlike the 54 the Itama 70 is designed by Andrea Vallicelli, who is on his seventh project for the Ferretti Group; Pershing GTX70 and GTX80 exteriors, interiors of the three WallyWhy's, and the exterior of the custom CRN 72 meter Hull.139.  For his debut in Itama Andrea Vallicelli brought influences of the Casali Itama's, the 70 looks that bit a larger and stretched 62, with the Rome based designer showing his sail yacht designer roots in the clean lines which defy time in past, present and future with its sweeping down shear line, and the sloop stern.  New thought-out solutions are also part of the Itama 70 from a never disturbed always available central fore deck access which is usable all time, this thanks to a cabin door located to starboard, and the integrated sun-pad forward as presented on the Itama 54.  Ideaeitalia, known for the interiors of the Ferretti Yacht models have been given duties for the interior of the Itama 70, and present a three double cabins lower deck layout, with an owner stateroom at midships to port side, and an L-shaped dinette with L-shaped galley opposite located in between the cabins.  A single berth crew cabin is located aft.  The cockpit is typical Itama with an aft sun-pad, C-shaped dinette with wet-bar opposite, and dual seat helm station to port side.  The Itama 70 is to be powered by twin MAN 1400hp as standard and or 1550hp optional engines, giving 37 and 39 knots top speeds respectively.
