Following success with the VQ40 in composite, Vanquish follows it with a larger seventeen meter VQ55 Sports Line project set to launch in the fall of 2022. The Vanquish Sports Line is the composite build series made for those who want to wait less for a Vanquish with building time being about six months, with still possibility for some customizations available. The VQ55 Sports Line is a full walk around fore to aft exterior layout with two dinettes; forward and under the hard-top, an aft sun-pad, and a central console helm with four row seats. Lower deck accommodation is for four in an open layout with a double berth forward, and twin singles at midships. The Vanquish VQ55 Sports Line will be powered by twin 1200hp inboards with jet propulsion reaching speeds up to 55 knots, or five Mercury 600hp outboards which give a whooping 72 knots.

New Model: Anvera 58
Anvera continues its ride of success and has in the Spring launched its new 58 flagship model. Replacing the 55, the 58 is a natural evolution of the first Anvera model launched in 2016 and flagship for six years . The 58 has different lines to the super structure, while another new details is the second row three companion way seats, behind the helm station. As all Anvera the 58 features the opening bulkheads which extend beam by 68 centimeters aft and bring the space up to 24 square meters in the exterior deck. Inside the Anvera 58 offers a similar layout to that of the 55 sleeping four in an open layout with a forward double berth, twin berths at midships, sofas, and a separate shower head to port side. The Anvera 58 is powered by twin Cats 650hp, and while speed numbers have not been announced, I would expect similar forty knots plus performance and efficiency of under five liters per nautical miles at thirty knots plus cruise.

Since then, Mulder Shipyard has delivered over 134 iconic yachts and has also been awarded three Superyacht Awards. Dick was distinguished by his resilience, perseverance and bravery, as evident from his bold decision to build a brand new shipyard during the financial crisis. Always looking ahead, his son, Nick Mulder, joined the business twelve years ago as the next generation and represents a safe pair of hands for the business going forward. Words cannot adequately express the sadness at Dick’s passing for the whole Mulder community, and their gratitude for the opportunity to work with him. The Mulder team will honour Dick Mulder’s memory by continuing the work he loved so much and he will be deeply missed.

Two Injured as Multiple Boats Go Ablaze Near Kent
Two people were injured as about half a dozen boats went ablaze and were wrecked in River Medway Hampstead Marina at Yalding, near Maidstone, in Kent on the afternoon of Sunday 24 July. The fire started as a small seven meter classic cabin cruiser exploded and went ablaze and then broke away from its mooring, drifting into the channel and burning other boats as it was moving around the channel. The two injured people were treated by paramedics and taken to the hospital; one suffered burns while the other was treated for smoke inhalation, the fire brigade said. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
