Project: Mulder 98 Flybridge

Mulder Shipyard has received a new order to build a 98 Flybridge for a client from Russia. The all-new, all-aluminium yacht has been developed by the Mulder Shipyard design team with Guido de Groot and will be delivered in the second quarter of 2013.  The Flybridge yachts of Mulder Shipyard have been a major international success. The leading Dutch yard delivered a 92 Flybridge to a client from Egypt in 2010 and recently sold a Mulder 73 Flybridge to an Australian client. The latter had seen the Mulder 76 Flybridge Dutchess at the Auckland yacht show, a yacht that was delivered in 2007 to a client from New Zealand. Meanwhile, Mulder has also built several other projects for clients from Russia, Spain, Germany and Italy.  The new Mulder 98 Flybridge has a length of thirty metres over all, and a beam of 6.90 metres. It is powered by twin Caterpillar C32 1600 hp each of engines, offering a maximum speed of 22 knots. The yacht has a fuel capacity of 17,000 litres, which gives it a range of 4,500 nm at a speed of ten knots. The hull will be built in accordance with Lloyd’s classification.  The interior of the new Mulder 98 Flybridge includes a spacious saloon, with a starboard dining area for eight people, The galley on the port side gives direct access to the gangway and a day head. The owner’s stateroom includes a large walk-in closet and three elliptical portholes on both sides. The yacht also has a VIP suite and two guest cabins, each with their own shower and toilet. The interior will be finished in walnut.  The aft ship contains the crew quarters with two twin cabins with a shower and toilet. These quarters can be reached via the swim platform, and give direct access to the engine room. The tender can be stored either on the swim platform or on the flybridge. Additionally, the flybridge is equipped with deck chairs, two roomy U-shaped sofas and a wetbar with grill, icemaker and refrigerator.  The new Mulder 98 Flybridge will be the first yacht to be built at the new facilities of Mulder Shipyard.

Improve-it = CRN 60m hull. 130

CRN has privately launched the CRN 130, a 60 meter steel and aluminum super yacht, in Ancona.  The owner’s family, the management and workers of CRN, who celebrated the completion of the seventh pleasure ship of 60 metres produced since 2005, were present at the shipyard. This is an important achievement in this particular market. The elongated streamlined profile and the imposing cream-colored hull strongly characterize this 60 metre leisure boat, hull number 130 of the shipyard, made of steel and aluminum, and commissioned from CRN by a European ship owner.  The slim and sleet bow and the imposing volumes with wide spaces overlooking the sea characterize this mega yacht, whose external lines bear the signature of Zuccon International Project Studio, which worked in close collaboration with the technical office of CRN, while the interior design was taken care of by the architects Alexandre and Cristina Negoescu.  Hull 130 was built on a naval platform of 10.20 meters, the same used for other famous boats such as the CRN; 126 "Blue Eyes" and 128, both of 60 meters. The same philosophy and technological innovations are found in the open spaces that distinguish CRN: the terrace in the master cabin and the beach club at the stern and the stern hatch that turns into a big beach close to the water which will be equipped as a solarium.  The Zuccon International Project designers created the super yacht with great attention to spatial quality, making it elegant, timeless, and thus increasing its value for both the owner and the shipyard.  Circular patterns prevail in the interior design, giving it a new image of on board comfort, with fluid spaces, which open up and extend to all the other areas. There is also a minimal style and an art deco spirit that fuse with elegance and sophistication, representing “modern style”.   Its minimalist décor, its monochromatic interiors and its sinuous forms, create a new contemporary habitat of extreme pleasure.  The new vessel can accommodate 12 guests in 5 guest cabins, the master cabin and 14 crew members. The yacht is equipped with two Cats 1950hp engines that cruise at a maximum speed of 15 knots and a cruising speed of 14 knots.

Under the agreement, Quick will be the supplier of equipment for Gulf Craft’s new 95ft Gulf 95 EXP motor yacht with the concept of ‘comfortable living on the water’ at its heart. Riviera Owners Raft Up Annual Kooringal Experience

The weather was perfect and the scenery spectacular on the 18th of February as Frank Newnham dropped anchor for the first time at Kooringal, a tranquil spot on the southern tip of Queensland’s Moreton Island. Listed on the Australian Heritage Register, Moreton Island is located 35 kilometres off the coast of Brisbane and is renowned for its crystal clear water, white sandy beaches, and marine life such as green turtles, humpback whales and dugongs. This is the second annual Kooringal Experience hosted by R Marine Queensland and it has quickly become ‘a trip not to be missed’ by Riviera owners. R Marine Queensland dealer principal Randall Jones said a fleet of 23 Rivieras with 60 adults and 12 children on board made the 60 nautical mile round journey from the Gold Coast to Moreton Island. For Frank Newnham and his partner Di, it was the first time they had been to Kooringal. Frank and his partner Di look forward to the Fraser Island Experience which will be held later this year.  R Marine Queensland hosted a party on the beach where Riviera owners were treated to fresh local oysters and fresh prawns. Sunreef Power Breaks Fuel Economy Record

Launched in June 2008, the 70 Sunreef Power JAMBO is a rare example of a luxury medium-sized power yacht 60-80 feet with extremely low fuel consumption, trans-Pacific range and top speeds reaching 20+ knots. This exceptional yacht was conceived by Sunreef Yachts with the help and advice from Laurent Bourgnon, a famous sailor with a wealth of experience in catamaran regattas. This expedition power catamaran JAMBO was designed to undertake round-the-world trip in the most comfortable conditions and using the lowest amount of fuel possible. The yacht is currently cruising around Raiatea, French Polynesia, where the Bourgnon family has been settled for a while and enjoys the relaxed local lifestyle. The fuel consumption was originally 13 litres/ hour/ engine at 10 knots at 2,300 RPM. Following structural and technical modifications made by Sunreef Yachts (installation of water bulbs of 5.5m, and additional aft swimming platforms, increasing the JAMBO’s LOA to 85feet) and other companies (remapping of the engines for optimal use, and new sustainable and smooth antifouling), these numbers have been significantly reduced. The consumption now is 7.5 litres/ hour/ engine at 10 knots at 1,500 RPM, or 15 litres /hour!

Projects: O.B.P. S55 Granturismo, O.B.P. S55 HT Granturismo

OBP Sport Fisherman Yacht from Rome, Italy continue to present new projects set to increase its range, which so far has only one model in the water. But company has a total of eight models in design rendering project stages with the 55 being one of them. The 55 will be available in three versions and here we present the more sport yacht orientated S55 Granturismo. The lines of the 55 continue the inspiration we saw on the 35 with a very flared bow and an aggressive reverse shear line making part of the unusual but catchy looks. Inside the S55 Granturismo will have a choice of two layouts; four cabins with three heads, or three cabins with a galley and saloon located below. Outside is a spacious twin level area with the lower aft part having two C-shaped settees, and the three steps raised part which also hard top covered having an a galley, large C-shaped settee, and three seats helm station. Power will be for up to twin 1200hp engines, with the AX-BOW-EVO hull giving very solid sea keeping characteristics. The O.B.P. S55 HT Granturismo follows the design of the standard S55, with the advantage of having a fully enclosed hard top main deck. The more forward raised area is closed by a patio door, this giving an all weather seasonal use to the S55 HT Grantusimo. Power and interior layouts are all the same; with a three or four cabins interior choice, and engine power up to twin 1200hp.
