Tankoa New Web Site

Italian super yacht builder Tankoa presents its new web site.  Tankoa which means Scorpio in Genoese dialect was founded in 2007 by Giuseppe Orsi and his best friend, with the presidency of the company moving to Orsi sons, from Guido who was the President at founding to his sister Eva who took over Presidency since 2018.  Tankoa's main founder Giuseppe Orsi started his career as an engineer, becoming a businessman, and corporate executive taking over the helm of Finmeccanica in 2011.  But Orsi is also a passionate yacht owner, having entered yachting with the ownership of various super yachts, who from 1996 up to 2004 was also the owner of Baglietto shipyard.  The construction of the first Tankoa hull number C101, a super yacht as designed by Francesco Paszkowski started life in 2008 as a 65 meter project then delayed with the Global Financial Crisis which hit the world economies at the end of that year.  Eventually Tankoa C101 will be updated to a 69 meter in 2013 and launched in June 2015.  Tankoa is located from its founding in 2008 in Sestri Ponente in the center of Genoa's seven nautical miles break water protected harbor, next to Genoa's Christopher Columbus airport.  In December 2023 Tankoa took a lease agreement for the former Privilege super yacht yard in Civitavecchia which went bankrupt in 2015, increasing both production capacity and the possibility to build larger super yachts. Tankoa's aim has always been to be a boutique super yacht builder, with a business core in both custom and semi-custom builds, although the success seems more coming from the later, with six of the yacht delivered coming from the semi-custom series yachts.  Tankoa has so far build eight super yachts from 45 up to 72 meters, with eight further yachts currently under construction, and it's most successful series being the fifty meter S501 platform which has been delivered in five units and currently featuring a sixth hull under construction.  Tankoa new website takes you around with the following buttons; Company, Excellence, Models, Fleet, Refit, Press, News, and Contact.

New Model: Tankoa T450

Sold in late 2021 shortly after the new series was presented, the first unit in the Tankoa T450 has been launched and christened m/y Go at the shipyard in Genoa. First Tankoa model under fifty meters in length, the T450 expands Tankoa's range of super yachts, bringing the builder's values to the market of more compact vessels. It reaffirms the boutique shipyard's reputation, rooted in its commitment to quality and comfort, coupled with innovation and elegance, making it a true benchmark. Built in steel and alumimium, the T450 is an innovative project by Giorgio M Cassetta, intended to maintain the brand's timeless aesthetics while introducing bold vertical elements to the superstructure, combined with sleek horizontal lines. Introduced to the shipyard by Italian Yacht Group of Fort Lauderdale, the American client for the first unit requested that the original gross tonnage of 430GT be increased to 450GT to provide more interior volume. In terms of accommodation, M/Y Go offers a huge master stateroom forward on the main deck and five comfortable guest suites on the lower deck. Throughout the yacht, expansive windows flood the interior with natural light, emphasizing the spaciousness of each area. The generous beach club features opening side platforms that wrap around the stern and a sliding sun-pad that closes the pool during navigation. The large sundeck has a hydro-massage tub and shaded dining area, while the upper deck is fitted out with a dedicated gym and a fire pit in the bow. Project: Tankoa T560 Apache

Tankoa the Italian boutique super yacht yard has started construction on a 56-metre full-custom superyacht for a client who also knew no bounds. Developed by designer Alberto Mancini, the new Tankoa T560 Apache draws its inspiration from Mancini’s 76-metre T760 Apache design that was unveiled at the Monaco Yacht Show in 2021. It’s no small feat to take the features of a large yacht and translate them into a smaller package, but the Tankoa team and the Mancini studio relished the opportunity. The inception of the Tankoa T560's development took place initially at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show in 2022 specifically for a young American couple, with active participation from Fraser Yachts USA Fort Lauderdale Office. The sale was successfully finalized in early August 2023 and Fraser Yachts will be also involved on the project management side during the construction.  Tankoa T560 Apache is to be build of steel with aluminium super structure, and will feature a large aft beach club which extends further in size with drop down bulkheads, and is also served by an informal dining/lounge space.  The owners stateroom is to be located on the upper deck, and will feature an office space, and a front terrace with a private personal fore-deck pool.

Project: Tankoa TX450

Tankoa Yachts is proud to announce that the first unit of the all-new TX450 has been sold. Initially developed around the Tankoa T450 concept penned by Giorgio Cassetta, the TX450 is an explorer version based on the same 45-metre design, but developed into a full-custom project from bottom up. As Cassetta is responsible for both the elegant exterior and refined interior design, the yacht’s clean lines and graceful profile is unmistakably in line with Tankoa’s design DNA and, indeed, very close to the original T450. The TX450 is developed on four decks with a unique interior arrangement for a yacht of her size whereby all the guest cabins are placed on the main deck, including a generous master stateroom for the owners’ use. The social areas are mainly focused on the upper deck and bridge decks. The interior also offers a gym, spa area and a convertible room, which brings the number of the guest cabins up to six if required. There are exterior social areas on all decks, including two pools, one of which is at sea level in the stern surrounded by two opening side platforms, as well as a beach club area effectively developed on three levels when the tender and jet skies are launched, offering an incomparable lounge space for the size of the yacht. The yacht is under final engineering with construction due to start shortly and delivery set for spring 2025. Tankoa currently has eight other projects currently in build: two S501s, two T450s, two T55 Sportiva, a T580 Custom and the Vitruvius 52.  This RX450 takes Tankoa yachts to fourteen units, eight of which currently under construction with the Italian shipyard debuting in 2015 with the fully custom 69m.

Project: Tankoa T500 Tethys

Genoa-based shipyard Tankoa has revealed its latest project: the 50-metre explorer superyacht T500 Tethys. Dubbed as an SUV of the seven seas, the T500 Tethys has been conceived for go-anywhere cruising and is equipped to take on journeys ranging from a tranquil Mediterranean cruise to a higher-latitude adventurous expedition. In terms of propulsion, this explorer superyacht is offered with traditional, hybrid or diesel electric propulsion. The vessel features exteriors and interiors developed with the Milan-based studio Hot Lab, with a gross tonnage of just under 500 GT. Thanks to the yacht’s flexible layout, two convertible spaces on the lower deck can be utilized for numerous different purposes, including as additional cabins, a gym, a cinema area, an owner’s office, or as recreation spaces. Other standout areas include the sundeck, which is home to a Jacuzzi, a sun pad, a bar with a barbecue, a relaxation area and a bathroom. Designed with relaxation in mind, the T500 Tethys’s interior spaces accommodate large groups with ease, with generous lounges found on both decks and spacious staterooms offered for both owners and guests alike. The full-beam owner’s stateroom is found on the main deck and comes complete with an ensuite bathroom, walk-in-closet and an office with a lounge area. Guests can retire to the upper deck aft for lunches in the fresh air, with its comfortable bar, lounge area and panoramic ocean views. The aft platform is the heart of the super yacht close to the water and complete with its own infinity pool. Alternatively, if a different configuration is desired, this could also be the perfect area to store the owner’s favorite toys, as well as any land, water or aircraft.

Project: Tankoa T450

Tankoa Yachts is proud to announce that the first hull of its all new 45-metre superyacht, the T450, has been sold to a North American client. Built in steel and aluminium, the exterior design of the T450 by Giorgio M. Cassetta is in line with the brand’s timeless styling, but adds a bold vertical element to the superstructure and very well balanced horizontal lines, which lends the project a timeless and sober elegance. Giorgio Cassetta will be also responsible for the modern interior design which will be perfectly in line with the needs of a young owner and his family. Introduced to the Genova super yacht shipyard by Boumer Jousma and Vittoria Santarone of Italian Yacht Group in Ft Lauderdale, the client for this first unit requested many customisations that emphasise the flexibility of the platform. These include much larger windows on the main deck and a longer upper deck salon, which raised the gross tonnage from 435GT to 450GT to provide more interior volume, all without really affecting the finely balanced proportions of the yacht. Standout features include: a huge master suite forward on main deck and open-air cinema in aft cockpit; five guest suites on the lower deck and a generous beach club in the stern; an upper deck with dedicated gym as well as a fire pit on the foredeck; and a spacious sundeck with glass-walled jacuzzi and shaded dining for a full complement of guests.  Tankoa T450 is scheduled for a 2023 delivery.

Project: Tankoa T45 Sportiva

Tankoa T45 Sportiva is a 45 metres super sport yacht.  The aft of T45 Sportiva is all about the relationship with water, the joy of interaction with the sea, the wonder of the open horizon. The bow lounge is embedded in the deck, beneath the eyeline of the wheelhouse. The external line is clean and sinuous. Sleek lines are emphasised all the more on the T45 yacht’s two-deck alternative. The completely open beach platform is the primary connection with the environment. Here, slipping into the sea is effortless. Or the infinity pool is a beautiful place to soak and enjoy spectacular, unforgettable views. When the extendable sides of the beach club fold open, the yacht boasts 100 sq m of open beach club.  On the hybrid-propulsion version, guest rooms connect directly to the spa, which connects directly to the beach terrace.  On the main deck, the dining area, a circular space at the centre of the yacht, can be an interior space or open air. In fact, half the entire deck can be opened to the external environment. T45 Sportiva will weight about 250 tons, and no power or speed choices have been announced.

Project: Tankoa T55 Sportiva

Tankoa has unveiled its new Linea Sportiva by Luca Dini in a live Zoom event. Conceived and designed to expand the market offering of the Genoa-based boutique brand, the first model in the dynamic series is the Sportiva 55 rated at under 500GT that falls between a larger and smaller version. Considerable real estate is devoted to the Beach Club, which is actually more of a main deck cockpit and comprises a swimming pool sunk into the terraced aft deck with access to a Spa zone on the lower deck complete with gym and sauna, as well as a side-loading garage for water toys. A novel highlight of the whole area is a large hull window that is partially underwater that can be enjoyed either under way or at anchor. The guest accommodation on the lower deck consists of four ensuite cabins, although a five cabins version has already been developed. The galley is also on the lower deck, while the crew accommodation is placed forward. The main deck layout is asymmetrical with a circular dining area connecting the open aft deck and main salon, but where the master stateroom begins it is full-beam to port with a walkway to starboard with a built-in chaise longue and Jacuzzi as well as a private sauna. Unusually, there is also a central staircase leading from the owner’s personal foredeck to the forward bridge deck which is designed to be used as an open-air cinema when at anchor. A 7-metre tender, crew tender and Sea-Doo are stowed on the open foredeck but are hidden from view by the bulwarks. This Suite on the Sea concept offers an innovative yet flexible layout solution that also helps to keep the gross tonnage at below 500GT. The bridge deck has a sky lounge, an extendable table for al fresco dining and lounging space on the aft deck. The sun deck is partially shaded by the hard top and features a wet bar by the forward hot tub and plenty of sun lounging space. ith a steel hull and aluminium superstructure, the Sportiva 55 has a top speed of 16.5 knots and a cruising speed of 15 knots. Her range at an economic speed of 12 knots is 3,800nm. Although the 55 is closest to the needs of Tankoa's current client base, the shipyard also asked Luca Dini to retain the same family feeling in a fast, 45-metre all-aluminium version and scale it up to a larger and more comfortable 65-metre proposal.

Project: Tankoa T580

Tankoa is pleased to announce the sale of the new T580 yacht.  This is the first 58-metre model, a fantastic addition to the fleet of the Italian shipyard. The hull will be built in steel with aluminium superstructures; the exterior design is by Francesco Paszkowski, while the interiors are by Margherita Casprini.  This sale, conducted and completed in collaboration with Giancarlo Mussino, Managing Director of Sinos S.A., who introduced the client and will represent them during construction, once again confirms the ability of the Genoa-based shipyard to develop fully customisable projects.  From the first previews, the Tankoa T580 will be a "World Wide Explorer" with a sporty profile, able to cover long cruises thanks to a range of more than 5 thousand nautical miles. She will also have a helideck at the bow, six cabins in addition to the crew cabins, a large beach club with folding side walls to make the most of "a private island" and a garage capable of accommodating two tenders, including a 9-metre limo tender.  Construction will begin in July and the new Tankoa T580 is scheduled for delivery in April 2024.

Project: Tankoa S702

In the wake of the success of the 69.3m Suerte and the 72m Solo, Tankoa has developed together with Francesco Paszkowski a new S702 seventy meter project with bold and captivating lines characterized by a vertical bow stem.  In addition to the vertical bow, the exterior design of the Next 70 S702 is defined by the arcs that connect and unite all the deck left in the stern to provide a sense of balance and continuity.  Three different superstructure profiles can be integrated into the exterior styling to offer owners a wide choice of design.  A series of design details from the stern fairleads and half-moon shapes to the black chine in the bow and the black V-pattern on the hard top, reflect Tankoa’s design philosophy.  The vertical bow also recalls the 50-metre projects launched by the yard and will be carried forward into future designs. The vertical forward glazing contrasts powerfully with the gentle S-shaped bend of the arcs in the stern.  One of the salient features of this project is the interior layout, especially the forward area that is arranged on two connected levels between the main and upper decks.  The master suite is spread over the main deck and upper deck for a total area of about 150 sqm with side terraces and a private gym. It is directly connected to the fore-deck and helipad via the upper deck and an internal private staircase. A skylight brings light into this passage that opens up into a large space comprising a panoramic lounge and dining area/meeting room.  Like residential seaside homes, the side bulwarks on the upper deck are glazed to provide transparency and uninterrupted sea views. In fact, all the external areas are designed as terraces overlooking the sea with plentiful use of frameless glass to increase visual contact with the marine environment.  On the foredeck of the upper deck in front of the owner’s area is large alfresco zone with a pool. The stern a dining and relaxation area with softly rounded sofas and seating.  There is another larger swimming pool on the main aft deck, above the transom beach club on the lower deck with spa area that includes a sauna and hammam.  In line with the unconventional layout configuration, there is no classic sky lounge on the upper deck. In its place are two VIP suites aft of the central lobby.  Other guest accommodation includes two additional VIP suites on the main deck aft and two ensuite cabins on the lower deck, where there is also a gym for guest use. This arrangement provides maximum flexibility, especially for charter use.  The second lounge area on board, instead of being on the upper deck, has been transposed to the bridge deck that opens onto a convivial area on the aft deck with circular sofas.  The sun deck hosts a large area with sun beds and a shower integrated into the mast structure that can be reached by the main staircase that connects all the decks.  A nine meter limousine tender and a 5.5m guest tender are stored in the stern garage. A crew tender, rescue tender and Jet Skis are housed under the helipad in the bow.  Last but not least, the lighting system has been carefully integrated into the overall design concept, a solution evident in the play of overhead LED lights in the outdoor conversation and dining area on the main and upper decks.   The Tankoa S702 is to be powered by twin 2447hp engines which will allow her to reach top speeds up to seventeen knots, cruise at sixteen, and have an economic long speed of twelve knots.

Improve-it = Tankoa 50m S501

Tankoa is delighted to announce that the 50m Tankoa S501 Hybrid, previously named S502 Elettra has been successfully launched at the Genoa shipyard.  Following final fit out and dock trials, the yacht will undergo intensive sea trials prior to delivery to her European owner, in time for the summer season and for the official World debut at 2019 Monaco Yacht Show in end September.  Based on a similar design to Vertige, the first in Tankoa's 50-metre series, S501 Hybrid differs from her predecessor under five key aspects.  The most importnat is that the Tankoa S501 hull number two is powered with hybrid propulsion package.  But the S501 number also features a five cabin layout with a main deck owner’s suite and four guest cabins on the lower deck, while the galley is on the main deck instead of the lower deck of hull.   The foredeck of S501 number two also features a touch-and-go helipad.  Tankoa S501 number two has been developed together with the owner.

Project: Tankoa S801

Tankoa Yachts has revealed the latest version of hull S801, the innovative eighty meter project styled by Francesco Paszkowski.  The announcement comes after a series of significant launches and new orders for the Genoa-based yard.  Tankoa has launched three super yachts from the famed seventy meter Suerte C101 in July 2015, to S501 in May 2017, and hull S701 this Summer 2018.  The sophisticated design and engineering of S801, destined to become the flagship of the Tankoa fleet, is approaching completion. Once finalized, it will provide the platform for the brand’s super yacht range from over eighty meters.  The restyled Tankoa S801 is based on an 80m technical platform with a 13.5m beam and a volume of approximately 2500 Gross Tonnage. The first section of the main deck will be full beam in order to provide the maximum interior volume.  The layout has been developed on five deck levels, including the sundeck. The main deck features an enormous salon with five VIP suites with ensuite facilities located forward to ensure optimal acoustic comfort. The extensive owner’s apartment occupies the forward section of the upper deck and comprises the master stateroom with two walk-in wardrobes, a palatial bathroom, massage parlor, private sauna and personal studio. This is just a taste of the general arrangement of the S801, as naturally the shipyard is at the disposable of individual owners to customize the layout according to his or her wishes. Inspiration for the exterior styling, which appears to float between the sea and sky like sails in the wind, came to Francesco Paszkowski after seeing the Amerigo Vespucci, one of the most famous tall ships afloat. In fact, the various deck levels appear suspended, breaking up the superstructure and giving the impression of airiness and lightness rare for a yacht of this size and volume.  With S801’s high-tensile steel hull and superstructure of aluminium and other lightweight alloys, Tankoa Yachts is setting out on a trajectory to develop a yacht that will be among the most innovative projects of its kind in terms of aesthetics, construction and technology. The engineering design, on-board systems and other technical specifications are entering the final stages.  Tankoa S801 is to be powered by twin Cats 2682hp which will deliver speeds up to 16 knots and acruise of fifteen knots, with an economic long range of twelve knots delivering autonomy for up to six thousand nautical miles.

New Launch: Tankoa 72m S701 C102

The second yacht built on Tankoa’s seventy to 72 meter technical platform was sold in September 2016 to an experienced European client, his second build with the Italian Sestri Ponente super yacht builder, has now been launched and final delivery to her owner is on track for mid November 2018.  Designed by Francesco Paszkowski, Tankoa S701 has been chistened M/Y Solo and will make her international debut at the 2018 Monaco Yacht Show in end September.  According to Tankoa's CEO, Euro Contenti this is a true recognition of the shipyard core values and power that irrevocably consists in building yachts with clients, not for clients.  Although S701 is reminiscent of the 69 meter M/Y Suerte project S693, Solo is three meters longer and has a volume of approximately 1600 gross registered tons. Other key differences include catalytic underwater exhausts allowing for substantial gains of volume on all decks, smell free and smoke free outdoor decks; a larger winter garden; large aft deck with six meter transverse glass pool, cut-down glass bulwarks sections for unobstructed sea views and a wide body upper deck allowing for an over sized panoramic salon. The longer waterline also allows for an optimized top speed in excess of 17 knots and reduced fuel consumption.

Project: Tankoa S533 Saetta

The Tankoa S533 Saetta is a 53 meter long model, with a maximum beam of just over nine meters that further enriches the Italian yard’s line of planing yachts and also includes the 58 Open launched last year.  Designed by Francesco Paszkowski the S533 Saetta’s streamlined and aggressive lines stand out, characterized by their widespread use of glass surfaces, giving the owner and his guests the possibility to fully live the surrounding environment with nothing that interrupts their direct contact with the sea.  This is also the characterization of the exterior spaces that stand out for their essential and livable characteristics.  The three MTU 2600hp with twin Kamewa water jets give her a top speed of 28 knots and a cruising speed of 24. At cruising speed the Tankoa S533 Saetta’s range is 600 miles; this doubles to 1,200 miles at a cruising speed of 17 knots.

Project: Tankoa 50m S501

Tankoa Yachts and Yacht-Ology, Michel Karsenti's company are glad to announce the sale of the first S501 to an experienced French client. Construction of this first 50 meter will start early April 2015 for a delivery in mid 2017. S501 will be entirely built in aluminium light alloy 5083. According to Michel Karsenti and Tankoa's CEO, Euro Contenti, this is a true recognition of the "boutique shipyard" values and power that irrevocably consists in building yachts with clients, not for clients.  Tankoa S501 is the new 50 meter project that was officially introduced to the public and press last September on the occasion of the 2014 Monaco Yacht Show.  Project S501 was one of the first initiative resulting of the partnership between Tankoa and Yacht-Ology right after Karsenti contracted S693 that will be delivered this summer. She represents the quintessence of the result between a high quality builder and a marketing and sales organization that is in daily contact with yacht owners, captains and surveyors. Tankoa’s management team and Karsenti worked in close collaboration with Francesco Paszkowski to design the project in order to reach important goals of balance, circulation on board, minus 499 gross tons package, and a visual contact with the sea.  Interiors, as per client's request, will be the work of Francesco Paszkowski Design Studio in cooperation with Margherita Casprini and should reflect a "modern but warm" atmosphere. This first model of project S501 will be in its full displacement version offering a range of 5,000 Nautical Miles at 12 knots and 16 knots top speed. Another variant of S501 is available to the market with a semi-displacement hull shape capable of a 27 knots top speed.
