New Model: Portofino 38 Fly

For 2018 Portofino Marine present the new 38 Fly an evolution of the popular and long standing since 2004 produced 37 Fly.  Considering the long production of the 37, the update is well deserved, and with these super structure design changes, the new 38 Fly takes nothing away from the traditional looking flybridge motor cruiser.  The new Portofino 38 Fly design changes actually add more to a fine mix of tradition and modernity, and I sincerely hope that the updates follow in the other Portofino models.  As all Portofino models the new 38 Fly still sticks to its roots with the solid wooden toe rail, and safe three inch deep bulwarks adding a feel not only of uniqueness and quality but that of a solid looking motor cruiser. The Portofino 38 Fly interior as usual is presented full of wood finish, and offers a layout of a two cabins lower deck; owners cabin forward and guest twin to starboard, and a saloon and galley main deck.  The Portofino 38 Fly is powered by four engines choices two from Volvo, Yanmar and FPT from 330hp up to 400hp.

New Model: Portofino 57 Fly

A flagship is always an important launch from a builder, and Italian Portofino extends its size by ten feet by presenting its new 57 Fly.  With the 57 Fly, Portofino ignores most of the latest fashion trends in flybridge yachts of this size and follows the themes which have been the signature of its success; a smart modern motor yacht with plenty of traditional accents which echo a timeless line.  But the 57 Fly does not stop its tradition on the outside but also in the inside with a plan which conceives three cabins in a classic layout; master room to fore, and two double cabins at amidships.  The living main saloon offers a smart single level area having opposite saloon and dining table, with a galley as it was standard a few years ago located in a separate lower level area to starboard.  Another interesting feature of the 57 Fly is its flybridge which offers a layout as if coming from a sportfish with a C-shaped settee to fore, helm console to starboard, and an L-shaped wetbar to aft. Tender space is located in a garage which opens the beach platform when at anchor.  Power choice is standard MAN 800hp, or optional Volvo 700 units with IPS pods propulsion.

Web: Portofino Marine New Web Site

Italy's Portofino Marine presents its new virtual world wide web showroom. Founded in 1994 by Massimo Brinzo, Portofino has taken a unique place in the heart of motor boaters who love something which is a timeless and unique design. Brinzo idea was to create a luxury medium sized boat which mixes between a sportsfisherman, and the classic Italian Ligurian Gozzo fishing boat styles. With this idea the unique very Made in Italy Portofino Marine brand was born featuring a planning Vee shaped hull, all around deep walking decks, and a lot of wood features inside and outside. Luxury hand made fittings on Portofino boats gives them also a unique hard to find look in there size segment, with a small Super Yacht feel which details like the wooden toe rail, teak decking, and thick highly polished stainless steel deliver. Having its building premises in Salvirola province of Cremona today Portofino builds a max of 25 boats a year offering five models from seven to fourteen metres in length offered in different versions to suite ones personal needs. Offering different styles for each model is also another reason for Portofino's success and these can vary a lot from Cabin, Coupe, Fisherman, Fly, Spider and Walk Around. New Model: Portofino 11 Fisherman

Italian boat builder Portofino continues to present variations to its 11 line series, presenting the new Fisherman model. The Portofino 11 was presented in 2008 with the Fly version, a year later was the turn for a Coupe model, and now in 2010 is next for the new Fisherman. Similar to its sisters in everything concerning the hull from shape to the IPS propulsion, and in the lower deck accommodation for four, the new Fisherman looks different when you see its topsides thanks to the lets go fishing Tuna tower. Apart from a second helm station the tower gives better visibility for locating the prey, outriggers, and extra places where to put your lines. The main deck now fully open on the sides and aft is also added with extras dedicated to the fisherman not found on the 11 Fly and Coupe models, like ice maker, 220 litres freezer, and a 200 litres live bait well. Thanks to Volvo IPS electronics the 11 Fisherman also features a slow speed, and electronic anchor modes. Both of these very usual instruments for the dedicated angler.

New Model: Portofino 11 Coupe

After presenting the Portofino 11 Fly in the fall of 2008, the Ligurian boat builder gets things more exciting by presenting the new Coupe version. A more aggressive looker and single lower helm version of the 11 Fly. Portofino is not new to this solutions having offered in the past various top side configurations to the smaller 750, 10, and 37 models. Designer Zagano for the new 11 Coupe launched for the first time this Spring offers an all year usable Sport Cruiser with a panoramic glass hard top, together with a patio door solution. For the rest this boat is the same as the 11 Fly, with the lower deck offering two cabins. Owners cabin to fore, double bunk guest cabin to starboard, and shower head to port. A further double berth can be obtained by converting the c-shaped saloon settee to starboard on the main deck. The galley is also on the main deck to port, this solution offering a better convivial area along with more comfort for the fortunate chef. Power is twin Volvo IPS350 260hp each, or IPS400 300hp with this later option achieving a top speed of 34 knots. Portofino also thought to use a registry length of under ten metres in this case of 9.48 metres, which makes the 11 in both its versions in no need of a maritime registration in Italy.

New Model: Portofino 11 Fly

The new 11 has been a much expected launch from Portofino Marine, a builder from Liguria, Italy. High respected Portofino, which I saw in the Genoa show a couple of years ago and impressed me with the original design, quality finishing, and for the classic looks they enjoy, but with a modern attitude of practicality and profile. New Portofino 11 Fly was announced a year ago as a project, and the surprise was it being offered with Volvos latest propulsion revolution, forward looking IPS pod drives. For a builder who all its boats, from the small 750 is in shafts that was a huge surprise. Another news for Portofino, is that of the side decks which for the 11, it abandoned the walk around deep bulwarks usually used on its models. Sleeping accommodation of the 11 Fly offered two cabins, a master cabin forward and bunk double guest to starboard. To port we have the head, enjoying a spacious shower. The welcoming upper deck features a c-shaped saloon to starboard which transforms to a double berth, a galley opposite and the interior helm station. Top speeds is 34 knots with IPS 400 engines. As announced in the project the 11 will be also available as Hard Top and open Spider variants, but so far only the flybridge was presented, so we have to wait for further news by Portofino on the different versions.

Project: Portofino 11

The new 11 metre for the fabulous Portofino motor boats will be designed by architect Zagano and will be available in three different versions: Spider, Hardtop and Fly. Different to previous and other Portofino Marine models, it will use Volvo's IPS driving system instead of traditional in line shaft drives. Innovative in it's propulsion and contemporary classic modern lines the new Portofino will follow a classic Vee shape for the hull with an eighteen degrees deadrise aft. A 32 knots top speed is being estimated for the Portofino 11.
