Dalla Pieta New Web Site

Dalla Pieta from Venice, Italy presents its new World wide web showroom.  Dalla Pieta was started in 1949 when Bepi Dalla Pieta builds his first boat, but it will be ten years later to this when the first establishment is opened on the Giudecca island in Venice.  The first builds of Bepi Dalla Pieta are outboard sport boats from four to seven meters named; Rio, Laguna, and Ionio and these are soon followed by other inboard models; Adriatico, Tirreno, and Pacifico.  Thanks to its Hunt inspired deep Vee hulls various Dalla Pieta models have success in many competitions and soon the name is associated with good sea keeping, so the company launches the revolutionary Manta a boat fully dedicated to racing.  In the seventies Dalla Pieta due to more clients demand moves its premises to Marghera where it can build larger craft up to fourteen meters.  In the eighties comes the transfer of ownership to the sons of Bepi; Gianni and Giorgio who expand to a new production facility in Fusina-Malcontenta in 1987, switching all production to fiberglass, following the debut of the DP6 in 1986, which is followed with the the 28 and 37 Altair sport cruisers.  This is followed by the 43, the 52 Asterion flybridge motor yacht, and the very revolutionary for the early nineties 43 and 55 Al Na'Ir fully enclosed hard top models.  Both the Al Na'Ir featured a patio door and an opening canopy capsule style hard top which was ahead of its time.  In 2000 Andrea Mevorach buys Dalla Pieta, and brings important organizational changes with Michele Cazzanti head of the company sided along Giorgio, and engineer Fausto Colombi coming from Riva and Sarnico yards taking responsibility of building. This new energy gives huge growth to Dalla Pieta in the period 2002 to 2007, stopped only as the 2008 Big Recession hits the World and the yachting sector at the fall of that year.  In 2010 following a period under administration Dalla Pieta is purchased by Jian Yong Zhu and Millennium Marine company who gives the helm to Franco Nocera and Giovan Battista Penzo, both part of the Venice brand recent history, with this experience lasting about five years, as the Chinese ownership seems confused.  In 2022 Giorgio Dalla Pieta along with other investors from the Veneto region buys back the Dalla Pieta name in 2022.  Today Dalla Pieta offers three sport yacht models, all in project stages from fifteen to 26 meters; and start with the DP 50 HT Re-Evoluzione and go to the DP 86 HT Re-Evoluzione.  Dalla Pieta new web site is available in Italian and English language and takes you around with the following buttons; Home, Mission, Yachts, Refitting, and About.

Project: Dalla Pieta 82 Fly

Dalla Pieta is currently active in presenting projects to clients and here is the design for a custom and sporty 82 Fly super yacht project based on the popular 80 HT series.  The Dalla Pieta 82 Fly project is to say the least versatile offer offering two flybridge design options which also change the exterior looks and the size of the fly deck from thirteen to fifteen square meters.  Another optional detail of the Dalla Pieta 82 Fly will be the choice of port lights from the traditional layout as pictured above, to the large opening more modern variations. The Dalla Pieta 82 Fly will offer a three or four guest cabins layout.  Some project details not shown in renderings are also being studied; as the option for a fore deck settee, and a redesign of the stern area with the bathing platform opening to a beach design.  Power will come from twin MTU 2200hp which will give max speeds up to 36 knots.

Project: Dalla Pieta 76 Fly

Dalla Pieta presents the project for a new 76 Fly which seems to be based on the hull lines of the 72 HT and is a design of Federico Fiorentino.  The young Italian designer has gone for a sports low profile looking flybridge yacht with the fly deck barely visible to the eye when viewed from outside. The living located on the main deck will be fully dedicated to relaxing and entertaining areas.  The galley is in the lower deck between the engine room and main cabin.  Dalla Pieta is not forwarding much details, and as the other 72 and 82 projects offered by the Chinese owned Venice yard this will need the commissioning from an owner for it to become a reality.

Project: Dalla Pieta DP 72 Fly

Dalla Pieta presents the project for the DP 72 Fly, which is based for the most part on the 72 HT with a flybridge deck up top.  Appearing very low profile the flybridge of the 72 Fly is to be covered by hard top for over half of its size, and offers a layout with a C-shaped dinette, central helm, and a free aft space.  Access to the flybridge comes from a staircase ladder to port side from the aft deck.  Accommodation will offer a three or four cabins layout.  Crew area including galley is located at midships in between the engine room and owners stateroom.  Power comes from twin 1675hp or optional 1826hp engines, with testing of Volvo 900hp units with IPS pod drives currently undergoing.

New Model: Dalla Pieta DP70 Fly

Finally this new Dalla Pieta DP70 Fly have seen the water.  I can actually testify as this new Dalla Pieta model, also flagship of its flybridge motor yacht line visited Malta in the first part of the season. This new Dalla Pieta 70 Fly follows the conceptual elements of this Venice builder who always presented very easy to the eye call them harmonic looking cruisers and yachts with a big emphasis on sea keeping, full hand building, semi custom choice, and good performance.  When I saw the Dalla Pieta 70 Fly I was definitely impressed by its slimmer hull, showing the usual Dalla Pieta attention to performance and good sea keeping.  We can also see in the specifications the construction element where the Dalla Pieta actually weighs just short of forty tons unloaded.  This is what most known names and production yachts of this size usually weight loaded with fuel.  Four or three cabins lower deck layout are offered for the 70 Fly with the fourth cabin being a bunk, and the master room at full beam midships.  Two crew cabins served by a shower head are available for the crew to aft.  Power is twin MAN 1550hp which will give a 35 knots top speed.

Project: Dalla Pieta DP 70

Dalla Pietà Yachts signs the art of living in pure Italian style and with the new DP 70 project reduces the distance between the sportive open and the cruising flybridge yacht. The DP 70 model, will combine aesthetics, functionality, fine materials and handcraft details in a mix made up of comfort and high technology. Entirely designed by the shipyard's technical team, and placed beside the DP 59, the only fly in the current line, which with this new 70 feet model, Dalla Pieta aims to build and enrich. The DP 70 is a fly in all effects but revisited with an open style, proposing itself as a unique model. This new project from the Venetian builder seduces due to the widening of the conviviality area, which starts aft. Here there are a broad sunbathing area which transforms into a comfortable sofa facing the sea and two steps which lead to the horizontally pivoted aft bridge which can be experienced as a small private beach or it can accommodate water scooters or large-sized tenders. At bow there is a second relax area with a broad sofa, a mini-bar and a sunbathing area serviceable also during navigation. On the Fly the sportive spirit is expressed by the helm station: central and slightly rear warded compared to the traditional post, leaving space in front of the dashboard for a dinette which easily transforms into a solarium area. Behind is a small area for the deckchairs. In the interior layout plan, Dalla Pieta wanted to offer the owners the possibility to choose where to position the master's cabin, in the centre or bow, maintaining the same dimensions. Planned in two versions, with 3 cabins 3 bathrooms or 4 cabins 4 bathrooms, the new Fly proposes some interesting architectural solutions also for what concerns the crew area which can be equipped with 1 cabin, 1 bathroom and a storage area that can be converted into a second cabin. Last, the utility area access has been designed not to disturb life on board. Inside, furniture design and customization. Outside, interesting concept with broad relax areas. A perfect mix between concepts of space, volume and movement, in order to surprise and satisfy the most demanding owners, who want a fly with the taste of an open.

New Model: Dalla Pieta DP 50 HT

Innovative is perhaps the most correct term to use when defining the DP 50 HT, even though it does not derive from a brand new concept, but is a successful restyling of the 48', presented at the Genoa boat show in 1997. Particular importance was given to the deck house and the stern area, with the extension of the garage that can now hold a 2.70-metre tender, while the driver's position can boast a lower deck with contemporary lines as one of the most distinctive parts of the new décor. The interior design has also been fully refreshed, with a complete change in the style of the décor, while keeping the exact same layout and leaving lots of room for custom solutions in terms of choice of timbers and wood varieties. One of the most important changes that stands out is also the possibility to turn one of the guest cabins into crew quarters, complete with bathroom, with separate access directly from the deckhouse. The powerful and reliable duo of 715 horsepower each Caterpillar engines is confirmed. The capacity of the tanks has increased from 1650 to 1900 litres. Lastly, the standard fittings have been supplemented with certain accessories that were optional in the 48'. Some of these include the automatic pilot, television and stereo in the living area, effluent containers and electronic remote control. The DP 50 HT expands the Dalla Pietà Yachts fleet with a boat that has nothing to envy bigger boats in terms of fittings and prestige.
