Three Rescued as Hatteras Sportfish Goes Ablaze in Baldwin County

Three boaters were recused as a thirteen meter Hatteras sportfish cruiser went ablaze off Fort Morgan near Plash Island, in Baldwin County, Alabama at around 13:30 of Saturday 26 April.  Recreational jet skiers who saw the boat ablaze rescued the three boaters, after which the Gulf Shores Police Department came to the scene.  The Police Department was later assisted by Bon Secour Fire Rescue, Oyster Bay Fire Department, Orange Beach Fire Rescue, and Gulf Shores Fire Rescue, who turned off the fire in about thirty minutes.  No one was injured with the fire reported to have started from an engine issue.
The sportfish express cruiser in this fire is a Hatteras 45 Ex Cruising as produced from 2014 to 2020.  The 45 Ex Cruising was a replacement and evolution of the Cabo 44 Hardtop Express.
