A sixteen meter motor yacht went ablaze and eventually sank when berthed at Umm Suqiem Marina, Dubai, United Arab Emirates on 08:21 of the morning of Friday 24 January. The yacht was reported unattended when the fire started with the Director of Maritime Rescue at Dubai Police and Dubai Civil Defense responding fast to the blaze. No one was injured in the fire with damage restricted to this yacht, thanks to the quick intervention of the Dubai authorities in moving the vessel and controlling the blaze in just eight minutes. The yacht eventually sank in the southern part of the marina near the Sayorah street bridge. The yacht was eventually boon protected for pollution, and then removed just short of three months later on Saturday eleven April.
This sixteen meter flybridge motor yacht in this fire looks to be of United Arab Emirates origin build, with the forward part looking similar to some of the nineties Gulf Crafts but different in the rest.
