Maritimo New Web Site

Maritimo presents its new web site.  Maritimo was founded by Bill Barry-Cotter in 2003, the third boat building company created by Bill from scratch, from one of Australia's most influential and important boat building figures since the sixties.  Bill was raised by a farmer father and a school teacher mother and will be intrigued by boating during a trip to Pittwater in Sydney. At sixteen years old Bill will take a boat-building apprentice course, building his own boat at nineteen, which will lead to him for a three year working apprenticeship with Cedric Williams Snr.  On his retirement the former employer will gift Bill the jigs which will lead to the founding of Mariner Cruisers in 1966 who Bill will sell in 1978 for three million Australian Dollars.  Following this in 1980 Bill will found Riviera which he will sell in 2002 for a reported 180 million Australian dollars.  Maritimo is founded in 2003, debuting the following year with the 60 Offshore, this is followed by the 52 and 48 models in the subsequent two years.  In 2009 Maritimo debuts the 73 Cruising Motor Yacht flagship, it's largest yacht till the arrival of the S75 and M75 in 2023.  In 2010 Maritimo acquires Mustang with the brand ceasing production in 2019.  Today Maritimo produces ten models in a three range series; M-Series Flybridge Motor Yachts, S-Series Sedan Motor Yachts, and Offshore Series Motor Yacht, which start with the upcoming S50 and go up to the M75.  Maritimo's new web-site takes you around with the following buttons; Our World, Models, Owners, News, Local Representative, Careers, and Enquiry.  Maritimo is also on social media with bottom links taking you to its Facebook, Instagram, Linkedin, and YouTube pages.

The Offshore 60, Maritimo's fist model

Azimut Yacht Partly Sinks in Cetraro, Italy

Three crew were saved as a 21 meter Azimut flybridge yacht with Panamanian flag partly sank in the marina of Cetraro, in the province of Cosenza, Italy on the night of sixteen March.  The yacht was assisted by the Vigili del Fuoco fire fighters of Scalea and the Cetraro Italian Guardia Costiera coast guard who saved the captain and the two crew.  According to a first reconstruction of the event the yacht entered in the harbour to escape the gale force winds and rough seas it encountered during navigation, only for it to end in a difficult situation and tangle its propellers and then partly sinking.  No one was injured in the part sinking, with the yacht lifted out in a boat yard the following morning.

The yacht in this accident is an Azimut Fly 72 as designed by Alberto Mancini and produced since 2023.  The Fly 72 was a replacement to the Azimut 72 Flybridge.

Sealine Sport Cruiser Goes Ablaze in Marina Punat, Croatia

A not attended eleven meter Sealine sport cruiser went ablaze while berthed at Marina Punat in the Croatian island of Krk at 08:00 morning time of Tuesday eleventh August 2020.  Fire fighters tended to the fire quickly, and when controlled towed the yacht outside of its berth and into the Yacht Service dry dock of the marina.  The fire was reported starting in the engine room.  No injuries were reported from the fire.

The boat in this accident is a Sealine S38 as produced from 2003 to 2007.  The S38 was a replacement to the S37 and was replaced by the hard-top Sealine SC35. 

Project: Custom Line Navetta 35

Custom Line present the Navetta 35 project for the brand’s Navetta line, a distillation of Italian design and engineering combined with the shipyard's hallmark construction know-how. The first unit is currently under construction at the Ferretti Group Superyacht Yard in Ancona. The result of a strategic vision focused on innovation and stylistic continuity, this 34 metre super yacht is born from the collaboration between the Strategic Product Committee chaired by Piero Ferrari and the Ferretti Group Engineering Department with exterior designed by Filippo Salvetti and interiors Antonio Cittierio and Patricia Viel, and will have a volume of just under 270 Gross Tonnage. Comfort, liveability and aesthetic refinement remain the cornerstones of the design, expressed through careful optimisation of the volumes and a perceived expansion of space, in harmony with the formal language and design philosophy successfully launched by Custom Line Navetta 38. The layout of Custom Line Navetta 35 spans three decks, featuring inviting settings and areas created for genuine conviviality, with generous volumes totalling over 300 square metres of interior and exterior spaces. The yacht can accommodate ten guests in five cabins: a master suite on the main deck and four cabins on the lower deck, one of which can be fitted with a Pullman bed. Completing the interior layout are the crew areas accommodating up to six members: the captain’s cabin with private bathroom on the Upper Deck, three cabins and two bathrooms in the bow on the Lower Deck, plus the crew mess and laundry area. The Custom Line Navetta 35 is set up for the installation of a Selective Catalytic Reduction system, which cuts NOx emissions by 70%, in line with IMO Tier III regulations. The large, well-organised engine room is designed for excellent ergonomics and ease of access to the engines and main on-board systems. Navetta 35 is standard powered by twin MAN 1400hp, or optional Cats 1622hp for top speeds up to sixteen knots, and a range of 1,800 nautical miles at economic cruise speed.

Cranchi Sport Cruiser Fire Damaged in Punat, Croatia

A not attended fourteen meter Cranchi sport cruiser went ablaze on Pier A1 of Marina Punat in Punat, Croatia at around 11:00 morning time of Wednesday fourth March 2025.  Marina personnel first and then the fire department of Krk responded to the blaze, controlling it in a relative short time and keeping it to this one vessel.  Following the turning off the fire, the boat was towed away from its berth and then dry docked.   The cause of the boat fire is under investigation.

The boat in this accident is a Cranchi 47 Mediterranee as designed by Aldo Cranchi and produced from 2004 up till 2010.  The 47 Mediterranee was also available in a HT hard top version.

New Model: Lazzara LPC 300

Lazzara has in 2025 launched its first LPC series power catamaran yacht model with the LPC 300.  Announced as the LPC70 project this power catamaran brings a new way to name a yacht model, named for its three hundred square meters of space, rather then the widely used length, and or as used by some in recent time for volume gross tonnage.  The Lazzara LPC 300 wants to bring new standards in its category measuring 21 meters in length with a beam just short of nine meters, it offers unprecedented space and comfort for a vessel of its size. One of its standout features is the full-beam lower deck, which includes five staterooms, and includes an expansive owner's cabin with a foldout balcony and private access to the beach club. This design maximizes the available space, providing three hundred square meters of usable area, a remarkable achievement for a 21 meters yacht. The Lazzara LPC 300 is powered by two Volvo Penta engines from twin 509hp to 1000hp with IPS pod propulsion.  The first hull was fitted with the optional twin 1000hp which gave speeds up to 21 knots, and a range up to four hundred nautical miles at a nineteen knots fast cruise.

MTI Performance Yacht Fire Wrecked In Miami Beach, Florida

A fifteen meter MTI performance center console titled Size Matters went ablaze at about a quarter of a mile offshore to the coast of 57th Street in Miami Beach, Florida at about 11:00 morning time of Thursday twelfth March.  The Nebraska boaters were first assisted by nearby boats, with Miami Beach Fire Rescue and Miami-Dade Fire Rescue responding to the blaze.  Ultimately the yacht was wrecked by the fire but was saved from sinking.  Fast Response Marine Towing and Salvage towed the performance yacht for recovery to a dry dock.  The boaters which numbers have not been specified were not injured.  According to a re-construction of the events, the yacht was taking part in a MTI Poker Run event, when the owner saw smoke coming, failing to control it, this developed into a bigger fire which ultimately wrecked the boat.

The yacht in this fire is an MTI 50 V as produced since 2022.  Marine Technology Inc debuted its today three model center console MTI-V line with the V42 in 2014.

Palm Beach 2026 Boat Show Preview

 

The 2026 Palm Beach Boat Show now in its 44th edition is to be held from Wednesday 25 till Sunday 29 March.  In last year edition the Palm Beach Boat Show had over 55,000 visitors, over one thousand boats and yachts on display, and six hundreds plus brands taking part.  Owned by the Marine Industries Association of Palm Beach County and produced by Informa Markets, the Palm Beach International Boat Show will be taking place for its home in over thirty years along Flagler Drive in Downtown West Palm Beach, directly across the Intracoastal Waterway from Palm Beach Island.  The single area and it's location, what is called the Billionaire's Corridor are key to the Palm Beach Boat Show success, which in recent years has become one of the largest boat shows in the World and in USA, challenging the other big two US boat shows for the top spot.  For the 2026 edition the Palm Beach Boat Show will feature the following World firsts; Alia Yachts 43m ALY431, CRN 67.55m hull.143, Everglades 437CX, Freeman 56, Intrepid 35 Valor, Manari 52, Numarine 40 MXP, Solaris Power 52 Open ST, Viking 50 Billfish, and Westport W135.

The Palm Beach Boat Show was started in 1982 as a modest event first located at the Soverel Marine Harbor in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida.  By the late eighties, the show expanded to its current location along Flagler Drive in downtown Palm Beach, providing a stunning backdrop of the Intracoastal Waterway. This change marked an important moment in the event's history, as the show began to attract a more international audience.  By the nineties, the Palm Beach Boat Show had already earned a reputation for showcasing the world’s finest boats and yachts.

Project: Everglades 437CX

Everglades presents the 437CX project marking the next second chapter in the Seven-Series cross over dual console line which debuted last year with the 367CX.  Larger by two meters to it's smaller sister the 437CX brings the same crossover cruiser-fish dual console design for boaters who want it all; range, space, comfort, performance, and a bit of fishing.  With a twelve meters length the Everglades 437CX is to offer a sleeping accommodation for four, with an exterior which takes advantage of fore to stern usable deck spaces, and is added with expanded living areas from port and starboard, drop down balconies to aft.  The Everglades is to be powered by outboard motors from triple Yamaha 450hp up  to Mercury 600hp.
