Project: Invictus ST550

Invictus Yacht continues along its path of growth and innovation and now unveils the first details of its future flagship, the ST550. The name ST550, with "S" standing for "Space", represents a new frontier in the distribution of the spaces onboard.  The ST550 is born from the creativity and ingenuity of Christian Grande, the designer to date of all the Invictus models. With a length of just of under seventeen meters and a beam of five, the Invictus ST550 is the result of an extensive process of study and design. While preserving many of the signature stylistic elements that define the Italian brand, including its distinctive semi-reverse bow, the ST550 introduces a new dimension to Invictus Yachts. It takes inspiration from classic shuttle boats, paying tribute with timeless design features. Engineered for exceptional comfort on both medium and long cruises, it also ensures a sense of security with its protective bulwarks throughout the foredeck. In its market segment, the main deck spaces are redefined, with one of the most significant design innovations being the expansive living area at the bow. The large, fully electric side windows and the glass door at the stern also allow the owner and guests to enjoy nearly uninterrupted views of the surrounding environment. At the stern, the cockpit features a spacious living area that can be converted into a generous sunbathing zone, further enhanced by the retractable bulwarks. Nearby, a large swim platform that can be submerged facilitates easy tender launching. Below deck, Christian Grande has included two cabins; Master and VIP and two bathrooms. In the middle of the yacht, also below deck, there is a large living area that, at the owner’s request, can be replaced with a third cabin or a galley. The ST550 is to be powered by twin Volvo 725hp with IPS pod drives. The new ST550 Invictus flagship is to be scheduled for Winter 2025, with a 1:15 scale to be shown at the upcoming 2024 Genoa Boat Show to be held from nineteen to 24 September.

New Model: Apreamare Maestro 88

Apreamare is pleased to announce that on Saturday August third a launch ceremony was held where the new Maestro 88 touched the sea for the first time.  The private celebration was attended by the owner, an Italian and an admirer of the Apreamare brand who already owns other boats by the Sorrentine shipyard. The owner brought his family and expressly requested the attendance of all the workers and suppliers who contributed with passion and dedication to the realization of this fascinating and ambitious project, in addition to the Apreamare management. The traditional christening ritual sealed the launch to the notes of the Mameli anthem, a song chosen to represent the essence of the all-Italian project, which proudly represents Made in Italy for the world to see.  The ceremony was a moment of great emotion for both the owner and the shipyard, testifying to the important milestone as summarized by CEO Rita Pollio and President Cataldo Aprea.  The Maestro 88 is the largest Apreamare to date, replacing the Maestro 82 as produced from 2008 to 2020 in ten units.  The new Maestro 88 represented a new challenge for the Sorrentine shipyard, for the architect Marco Casali and for the engineer Umberto Tagliavini. New Model: Italia Yachts 43 Veloce

Italia Yachts is the latest in a series of sail yacht builders which enter motor boating, and launch its first model the 43 Veloce in what looks to be a series of power cruisers and yachts.  Designed by Skyron studio from Bergamo, the 43 Veloce seems also the first motor boat of the young firm which debuted in 2017.  For its first motor boat both Italia Yachts and Skyron follow the current centre console trend, although unlike most of the competition she is not a full walk around sport cruiser with the deck raising at midships in order to offer more cabin space.  The living of the Italia Yachts Veloce is still located on the main deck, while the boat looks to be coming with standard drop down bulkheads to both port and starboard side, this increasing space.  All living is central located with a dual seat helm station, galley, dinette, and sun-pad. Up until the sunpad all is covered by the interestingly large T-top.  In the lower deck designed by Arbore and Partners the Italian Yacht offers accommodation for four persons, with a double berth forward, and twin berths at midships.  A shower head is located to port side.  The Italian Yachts 43 Veloce is powered by Volvo engines from twin 380hp up to 480hp, and or triple 300hp Mercury outboards.

Wajer Saves Sunseeker Boat on Fire in Mallorca

An eleven meter Sunseeker sport cruiser was saved from a fire during the photo and video shooting for the new Wajer 38 S outboard version in Mallorca.  It is an incredible story, which Wajer shared on its Instagram page on ninth September, though the first short videos of the shooting came out on the third.  As it happened Wajer was filming in Mallorca probably on third of September, and then seeing this boat on fire, assisted in turning the blaze off by lifting the outboards up and showering the boat.  Thanks to this the boat was saved from getting totalled and engulfed by the blaze and becoming a wreck.
The boat in this fire is a Sunseeker 38 Martinique as produced from 1991 to 1993, to a design of Don Shead and John Braithwaite.  The 38 Martinique came out as a replacement of the 36 Martinique and was replaced by the 39 Martinique.
The boat which extinguished the fire is the Wajer 38 S, the new outboard version option which debuted this 2024 at the Cannes boat show.  Designed by Vripack the 38 S debuted in 2015 as the walkaround version of the Wajer 38 which launched in 2013 as a replacement to the 37 model.

Princess Yacht Collides Into Fishing Boat Near Sant Lluis Menorca

A twenty meter Princess sport yacht titled m/y Laya with eight persons onboard collided with a small six meter fishing boat named Galup and sank it off the coast of Sant Lluis, to the South East of Menorca on 12:48 of third September.  Galup had one person onboard at the time of the collision, who seeing the boat navigating into him, jumped off board in order to save himself.  Noticing about the collision Laya, stopped and recovered the man from the sea, who was then retrieved by another boat and taken to land unharmed.  CCS Palma mobilized Salvamar Antares, who then towed Laya to a Mahón dry dock, probably for sustaining damage to its running gear from the collision. The Maritime Authority and Guardia Civil have been informed, with Laya running a charter of six guests and two crew at the time of the collision.
The Princess Yacht in this collision is a first generation V65 as produced from 2000 to 2004 to a design of Bernard Olesinski.  When released the Princess V65 was the V-series flagship extending its size from the previous larger V55 by ten feet.  The V65 was replaced by the V65 Mk.II in 2006 which used the same hull, but offered a total different layout and an enclosed main deck.
