New Launch: CRN 72m hull.139

On thirteen March a new full-custom CRN super yacht was launched today at the Ferretti Group Superyacht Yard. The CRN 139 Project has been christened in a private ceremony. 72 metres long, over twelve meters in beam and with a gross tonnage of 1,880 GT, the vessel has been designed and built by CRN, which also developed the entire naval architecture. The concept and the exterior lines were created by design and architecture studio Vallicelli Design, while architects Nuvolari Lenard took care of the interiors and their subdivision together with the yard. The result is a fully bespoke 72-metre steel and aluminium yacht spanning 6 decks and accommodating up to twelve guests and nineteen crew. The CRN M/Y 139 is a super yacht with a striking sense of style. She combines functional and design solutions in a sophisticated overall harmony, while the superstructure exudes an essential visual concision emphasised by the smooth external lines that impart an original, elegant aesthetic. This sublime fully custom super yacht vaunts extremely generous internal and external spaces, devised to offer the owner family a memorable on-board living experience in total privacy and comfort. Among the many standout features, the large full-height windows lend a softness to the lines, offsetting her impressive dimensions. The new 72-metre CRN M/Y 139 is a supreme expression of CRN’s design and construction skill – that talent for creating unique, distinctive designs that reflect and enhance their owners’ vision, personality and style. Another three full-custom CRN yachts are currently under construction at the Ferretti Group Superyacht Yard, the multi-brand hub in Ancona stretching over almost 80,000 sqm. These are the 67-metre hull.143, the 85-metre hull.144, and the 70-metre hull.145. New Launch: Van Der Valk 33.00m Hull no. WV0133

Van der Valk delivered the Raised Pilothouse 33-metre Blue Jeans to her owners at the end of 2022, its second in size model and flagship of the RP range as introduced in 2014 and so far launched in six units. After handover at the Van der Valk shipyard in the Netherlands, this custom build Raised Pilothouse 33 meters superyacht has cruised through Belgium, France and the UK to London. Designed by Guido de Groot the exterior style is closely aligned with the request for high ceilings in the interior, which rise to almost 2.5 metres in the lounge. The yacht’s sleek profile features lots of exterior glass, including for the bulwarks. Her blue hull paint was developed with Alexseal while de Groot used colours, surfaces and lights to remove any hint of white. Al fresco highlights include balconies both sides of the main deck and a retractable dive board on the flybridge. The anchor windlasses are hidden within the raised bow to free up room on the foredeck for a recessed chill-out zone with pop-up table. This cool feature typifies the detailed design and engineering which went into this project. The interior features an intricate fusion of Northern European and Asian styles, some remarkable lighting displays and a wide variety of materials. These include liquid metal walls, copper accents and reconstituted teak in small wooden trims on the walls and ceilings. The master stateroom features rare Lapis Lazuli Blue marble while other fine stones include Nero Marquina and Fior di Bosco in the dining area and White Carrara in the saloon. The overall layout entirely reflects the owner’s preferences for everyday use within a multifunctional, multigenerational concept. Blue Jeans is ideal for large groups on day trips and the kind of extended stays onboard involved in her maiden voyage. Blue Jeans carries a fully-custom bare aluminium tender placed sideways in her own large garage. New Launch: Heesen 80m YN 19480

In late 2021 Heesen launched YN 19480, Project Cosmos at the shipyard in Oss, its new eighty meter custom build flagship which is to be christened Galactica. At 80 metres, with a gross tonnage of 1,700GT and a top speed of almost 30 knots, she is the biggest and fastest all-aluminium yacht ever built. The challenges involved in creating such a large and complex yacht are extreme, but made a perfect fit with Heesen’s history and expertise. Precision aluminium construction, high performance and the finest Dutch craftsmanship are steeped into the DNA of this shipyard. Cosmos is the ultimate expression of Heesen’s ability to build daring projects that stretch the imagination of its engineers and crafts people. Thanks to the dedication of the Heesen teams and the shipyard’s loyal subcontractors, who all worked tirelessly through the pandemic, the yacht was launched on schedule in perfect Dutch style. What makes Project Cosmos so impressive is its immense size combined with a remarkable top speed of almost 30 knots. This is achieved thanks to the lightweight and low-drag hull design, honed to perfection by Heesen’s naval architects on an iteration of the Fast Displacement Hull Form devised by van Oossanen, and assembled, millimetre-perfect, by Heesen’s welders. Ensuring sufficient longitudinal strength was one of the biggest technological challenges facing Heesen’s engineering team, who designed and patented the Backbone,  an intricate full-length structural reinforcement system. Power comes from traditional, if highly refined, diesel propulsion of four MTU 4830hp  engines, two gearboxes, variable-pitch propellers and ultra-innovative Promas rudders. Cosmos’s elegant exterior comes from the renowned British studio of Winch Design. Clean lines, a sporty silhouette and the extensive use of glass create a timeless, dynamic profile, which will look as good in twenty years as it does today at launch. Sinot is responsible for the light and soothing interior design that makes guests feel at home from the moment they step aboard. While the overall palette is neutral, splashes of a range of blue hues are infused into the design throughout. The piece de résistance is undoubtedly the beach club, with its side and stern platforms. The backlit onyx bar with centrally positioned seating is the focal point of this ample and airy space close to the water. With the size, weight and performance of Project Cosmos so intimately connected, Sinot collaborated closely with Heesen’s in-house engineers to ensure that their stringent weight calculations were always met. Following her launch, Project Cosmos remained at Heesen for commissioning before undergoing intense sea trials in the North Sea commencing in February. She was delivered to her owners in Spring 2022 but no pictures have appeared as yet of the new Heesen eight meter flagship in navigation.

New Launch: Jarrett Bay 56 Open Convertible Hull #67

Since the launch of Hull #57 the 46 Sportfisherman in 2011 Jarrett Bay has taken an innovative approach in some of its custom builds which break the standard mold of the sportfish cruiser or yacht.  This recently launched fully custom Jarrett Bay 56 Open Convertible Hull #67 titled m/y Renegade is again following to that approach which I am sure comes from a challenging clients request, which the Carolina boat builder is ready to make for a happy customer.  Hull #67 for example may look your traditional sportfish convertible with flybridge, but upon closer inspection, you’ll find an additional lower helm station and convertible bulkhead that makes her a unique hybrid with the ability to transform and open its main deck.  This layout changes how the interior works with a main galley located on the lower deck, while a dinette and smaller galley is located on the main deck.  Accommodation is for four, with a master cabin forward, and a guest cabin with twin bunks to starboard.  Jarrett Bay’s ride characteristics and performance are complemented by twin MTU 1600hp which give the 56 Open Convertible top speed up to forty knots.
