Project: Cruisers 55 Fly

Cruisers present the project for a 55 Fly set to debut before the first half of 2024, and the first in a three model flybridge range, with a second model set to arrive in 2025.  Designed by Luiz Debasto, the Cruisers 55 Fly replaces the 2017 launched 54 Fly model which came from a Facheris design and was based on the 54 Cantius.  The 55 Fly is the first totally new Cruisers range to come from the since April 2022 ownership of MarineMax, which is also North America's largest boat dealership and a distributor to both European made Azimut and Galeon yachts.  With Luiz Debasto presenting a head to toe Euro-designed offer from an American brand ever, it will be interesting how the Cruisers 55 Fly and the following models will affect the dealership of these brands.  With a length overall just shy of seventeen meters Cruisers is saying the 55 Fly will offer a three cabin layout, with rendering showing a full beam midships owners stateroom and an astern galley main deck.  Another feature of the 55 Fly will be a drop down bulwark to port side, which is not really a new feature for Cruisers, who offers this in its sporty 38 to fifty feet GLS models, but never in the eleven to eighteen meters Cantius yacht series.  The Cruisers 55 Fly is to be powered by twin Volvo 725hp engines with IPS pod drives propulsion.

Cruisers New Web Site

Cruisers Yachts located in Wisconsin, USA presents its new World wide web showroom. Cruisers was officially founded in 1956 as the cruiser brand of the Thompson brothers label. Thompson entered the boating business in 1904, and sold Cruisers in 1971 to Mirro Aluminium Company in Wisconsin, with Roy Thompson still managing Cruisers as till the year of his retirement in 1979. In 1980 Mirro sell Cruisers to T.J.Bogart its former president and T.A.Lisle. K.C.Stock starts negotiating Cruisers in 1990, which will take him three years to complete the purchase. In April 2022 famed USA boat dealer and brokerage firm MarineMax buys Cruisers from K.C.S. Corporation. Today the legacy that Thompson brothers started building wood lapstrake boats is continued in four plants employing 450 persons, and building thirteen sport cruisers and yachts from the 34 GLS, to the 60 Cantius. Cruisers Yachts new website takes you around with the following buttons; Cantius, GLS, Careers, Events, Resources, and Find a Dealer. At the bottom of the new website is also a link to Cruisers social media pages; Facebook, Tweeter, Instagram, Linkedin, and YouTube.

Kenneth Charles Stock 1938 - 2022

It is with a heavy heart that Cruisers Yachts has announced the death of its long-time owner Kenneth Charles Stock, who passed away on November 28, 2022. Born April 6, 1938 in Oconto, Wisconsin. K.C. from a young age had a knack as an entrepreneur. He quickly progressed in business to buy his first company, a contractor yard, in 1971 and renamed it Stock Lumber, growing it to 11 yards across Wisconsin and Minnesota. Following his passion for the lumber business and the entrepreneurial spirit, he bought his hometown boat company, Cruisers Yachts. Growing up in Oconto, it was important to K.C. that the town continued to thrive and that meant keeping jobs local. He invested in the company and the Oconto community to see it flourish. Mark Pedersen, President of Cruisers Yachts, said. With K.C.’s support for over 28 years, Cruisers Yachts has enjoyed tremendous growth and is now known as one of the world’s premier manufacturers of premium yachts ranging from 33 to 60 feet. Named after his father, the Cantius series was born with the launch of the 48 Cantius in 2011. Since then, ten models, including the largest in the line-up, the 60 Cantius, have been badged with his father’s name. In 2019, Cruisers Yachts unveiled the Grand Luxury Sport series, which happens to be the initials of his loving wife Georgia. The GLS series comprises of four models, ranging from 34 to 50 feet. Wanting to continue the company’s growth, KCS International, Inc., parent company of Cruisers Yachts, significantly expanded its manufacturing and production capacity with the acquisition of the nearby Pulaski, Wisconsin facility that formerly built Carver and Marquis brand yachts. Shortly after, K.C. was looking for a new successor that would keep Cruisers Yachts rooted in Wisconsin. In May of 2021, K.C. sold the company to MarineMax, Inc., the world’s largest recreational boat and yacht retailer with the promise to keep Cruisers Yachts, the employees, and the community thriving.  K.C. always believed in giving back to the community. One of his greatest achievements was starting the K.C. Stock Foundation to help those in need. He took great pride in making a positive difference in other people’s lives. His foundation made the lead gift to start the Children’s Hospital in North-eastern Wisconsin at St. Vincent Hospital in Green Bay. He would encourage others to donate to one of his favourite charities, the HSHS St. Vincent’s Foundation that provides Christmas presents to all the children in the Paediatric Oncology Unit. K.C. loved to do this and bring families a bit of joy and happiness during the holiday season.

Project: Cruisers 42 GLS I/O

With outboards becoming the more popular it is interesting to see Cruisers insist on stern drive propulsion on its models and here comes the project of the 42 GLS I/O, these last initials standing for inboard-outboard meaning stern drive propulsion.  At twelve meter in length the Cruisers 42 GLS is a sport cruiser with bow rider stem to stern amenities, and cabin space to match those of the best centre consoles. Opening bulwarks at stern and up down bathing platform are more amenities which makes her a special boat, a bit unique in the current market offer. With all this space one could forget that the 42 GLS I/O offers a lower deck sleeping four with a forward U-shaped dinette which converts to a double berth, double midships berth, shower head to starboard, and a unit to port having a microwave oven and fridge.  The main galley is located on the main deck to port side under the hard-top.  The 42 GLS I/O is offered with twin Mercury 430hp, the outboard version is standard powered by triple Mercury 400hp and or optional 450hp.

New Model: Cruisers 38 GLS I/O

Many North American boat builders have embraced the new generation of outboards, but Cruisers seem to stand out from this, offering its 2019 launched 38 GLS with I/O stern drive option.  The original outboard 38 GLS was launched in 2019, and is an interesting offer in its size especially for owners wanting the maximum of deck space from fore to aft, but also want a decent cabin space sleeping four persons.  It is here the Cruisers 38 GLS shines in its cabin without reducing or losing any deck space.  The 38 GLS as popular today also features an opening balcony to starboard which increases the beam of the aft area by about one meter.  The Cruisers 38 GLS I/O is powered by twin Mercury 380hp gas petrol engines couple to dual propeller stern drive propulsion.  Max speed is reported at a forty max, which is about three knots less to the triple Mercury 300hp of the Outboard version.  With the inboard version the Cruiser 38 GLS I/O gains an extended hydraulic up down moving bathing platform aft.

New Model: Cruisers 50 Cantius

Cruisers Cantius range has been a non stopping expansion, and have in recent years provided a good alternative for a US made European inspired sport cruiser or yacht to buyers.  The new 50 Cantius launched in early February during the Miami boat show follows the exterior looks of the well recievied 60 and 54 models as done by Belgian designer Facheris.  The 50 Cantius also follows a similar layout to the bigger models inside, with a main deck all dedicated to a living area, and below decks reserved for three double cabins; owners at midships, double berth to fore, and a twin bunk berth cabin to starboard.  Fair to advise that the main deck is characterized by modern features which include an astern galley, full opening patio doors, lounging L-shaped settee, and C-shaped dinette.  Power for the 50 Cantius comes from twin Volvo D6 435hp engines with IPS pod propulsion.

Project: Cruisers 50 Cantius

Cruisers present the project for another Cantius model, and this time its for an all-new 50, a luxury cruiser with the features the amenities you’d expect on a larger yacht.  The 50 Cantius features many similarities to the 54 and 60 models, from sleek exterior looks to unrestrained, free-flowing spaces designed for entertaining in chic style.  Stepping aboard the 50 Cautius we find a stunning exterior entertaining space. Ample seating abounds, with a u-shaped dinette and a reverse aft-facing sofa. A wet bar for serving cocktails and a grill can be found on the transom. Water toys and gear can be easily stowed with plenty of storage space.  Passing through a stainless steel sliding glass door, boaters enter the climate controlled galley and upper salon. On the starboard side is a sofa that puts guests in the center of conversation. A dinette, located port-side, brings diners together indoors. Above, an operable sunroof invites sunlight and see breezes inside. The stylish interior boasts fine craftsmanship and can be accented with charcoal oak or walnut cabinetry. The helm is equipped with advanced electronics and joystick controls powered by Volvo IPS engines. On the fore-deck, boaters will enjoy integrated seating that can be converted to a chaise lounge for sunbathing.  Below deck, spectacular staterooms await guests. Large windows allow for ample natural light throughout. A well-appointed, full-beam master stateroom is found amidships and features a private head with refined details and a walk-in shower. A roomy forward VIP stateroom provides superior accommodation for guests. A third stateroom with bunk beds is located to starboard.

New Model: Cruisers 54 Fly

Just as Cruisers and designer Facheris did with the 60 Fly, the American boat builder does it again with the new 54 Fly.  A flybridge yacht born from the 54 Cantius hard top sport yacht platform, and even though the yachts are identical accept for the extra fly deck the new 54 Fly offers a spacious flybridge.  Entrance to the flybridge is from a starboard staircase and this offers a layout of U-shaped dinette, wet-bar and L-shape settee to port, and a central helm station.  Conveniently the flybridge is fully hard top covered.  For the remaining decks the 54 Fly is exactly same as the Cantius with an astern galley layout, and three double cabins below including a full beam owners stateroom.  Power comes from twin Volvo 725hp with IPS pod propulsion.

Project: Cruisers 54 Fly

The formula for the project of the Cruisers 54 Fly is the same the North American boat builder used for its 60 Fly model.  Basically Cruisers is using the 54 Cantius base and adding a flybridge up top.  Fair to say this system has worked incredibly well for Cruisers in the flagship 60 series, so the same result is expected for the 54 Fly.  Both series are a design to Beglian born USA resident Facheris, and the 54 Fly just as the hard top sport yacht Cantius is to be powered by the same twin Volvo 725hp engine with IPS propulsion.

For a hard sport yacht transformed into a full flybridge motor yacht, the Cruisers 60 Fly designed by Facheris is possibly one of the best I have seen.  Compliments to the Belgian born US residing designer Patrizio Facheris.  With entrance from a starboard step style ladder the flybridge of the Cruisers 60 Fly is also very spacious offering a U-shaped dinette to aft of the bride, central helming console, central settee, and two side chaise lounges or seating benches.  For the remaining the 60 Fly keeps the Cruisers 60 Cantius features of an interior with astern galley, a choice of two cabins with lower saloon or three double cabins without below deck, and Volvo IPS propulsion power.

Project: Cruisers 60 Fly

Cruisers present the project for a new 60 Fly, a model based on the 60 Cantius platform with the added flybridge deck. Beglian designer Facheris did an incredible job in creating an additional entertainment area up top.  Access to the flybridge will be from a staircase to starboard. The flybridge will feature a layout of U-shaped settee aft, central wet-bar and helm station, and three forward chaise lounges. Interior options and engines in the 60 Fly should mirror those of the 60 Cantius, with two or three cabins choices below deck, and Volvo 725hp engines with IPS pod propulsion giving speeds up to 35 knots.

Project: Cruisers 54 Cantius

It's been an interesting turn around for Cruisers in recent times, with the new flagship 60 Cantius designed by Facheris fully embracing European style design.  The Cantius range showed up in 2010 with the 41 and since then this has been the point of reference from Cruisers.  Now the US builder sets its game up again and introduces a smaller sister to the flagship, with the project of the 54 Cantius. Like the 60 and all Cantius for that matter, the 54 is a fully enclosed open hard top sport yacht with patio door. The 54 has a standard layout of three cabins; VIP suite to fore, third bunk cabin to starboard, and a full beam owners room at midships with a very large sized walk in wardrobe.  An option is available to change the third cabin with a lounge sofa.  Power for the Cruisers 54 Cantius come from twin Volvo 725hp with IPS pod drives propulsion.

Improve-it = Cruisers 48 Cantius

Introduced in late 2010 the Cruisers 48 Cantius has been a resounding success for the North American. Wisconsin boat builder.  It was the first step of a range the Cantius which now totals four models, including the 2015 launched new 60 flagship.  For 2015 the 48 Cantius has been added with a new light colored wenge wood option for the fitting out of the interior.  This new fitting out option will stand along the appreciated standard walnut wood finish, giving the future owner a further choice in building his 48 Cantius to his vision.  The 48 Cantius is also available with a host of other options like four hull color choices; white, black, blue, and a slate grey, and a propulsion choice of the tried and tested line shaft or IPS pod drives.

Project: Cruisers 59 Cantius

Its a great time for US builders, who finally in recent years seem to have find an alignment with European design.  Cruisers have been such a builder and the Cantius range has been the name it used to challenge Europe from the USA in Wisconsin. Designed by Patrizio Facheris for exterior and Luiz de Basto inside, the 59 is the fourth Cantius, and will be Cruisers new flagship and so far its largest build to date. As all the Cantius the 59 is an enclosed hard top sport cruisers with two exterior lounging entertainment areas; aft and fore-deck, living with astern galley layout, lounging saloon small galley below deck, and two large guest cabins. The sleeping accommodation plan offers what looks on plan as two super sized cabins for this size; midships for the owner, and forward VIP for guests. New Model: Cruisers 45 Cantius

The third model in the Cantius series range by Cruisers, the 45.  In this latest fully enclosed hard top model Cruisers follow the looks of the 41 along with the theme of all the Cantius, with a living all on the main deck, and a lower area dedicated to the cabins.  One of a favourite feature of the 45 will surely be the astern galley in the main deck saloon, serving easily both cockpit and interior saloon in a sociable environment.  Another nice touch is the aft bench settee which can become a sun-pad, an aft looking mezzanine, or a lounger type seat.  Two cabins both with en-suite shower head are featured below.  The master cabin is located to fore, and a three berth guest room is amidships. The amidships guest cabin features also some nice leg room, which is not something to discount nowadays, and a cool entertainment centre with a movable settee, and relax chaise lounge to port.  Power is standard twin Volvo 370hp, or optional 435hp units with IPS pod drives.  The standard power is a bit a slow giving a top speed of 27 knots, but 34 knots is estimated with the larger units.
