Marex was founded in 1973 by Eyvin Aalrud, who made use of a Latin name for his company. The name Marex is in reality an amalgamation of the Latin words Mare-Rex which means King of the Sea. Thirty seven years in building boats, today Marex is renowned for its craftsmanship, and marine engineering. Its current range has six models, from the traditional Sneeke looking 21 Duckie, to the 2009 introduced flagship 370 Aft Cabin Cruiser. The latest 370 Aft Cabin Cruiser has also won many renowned accolades as the 2009 Boat of the Year, and People's Favorite Boat Award at the Oslo Boat Show 2009.
